Beast world life -

Beastmen Tribal World

World Overview

This world is inhabited by numerous beastmen tribes spread across vast forests, mountains, plains, and jungles. Every beastman belongs to a tribe, and survival depends on hunting, cooperation, and raising future generations.

The most valuable resource in the world is not food, land, or wealth—it is offspring.

Females are extremely rare, with most tribes averaging only thirty adult females for every two hundred adult males. Because of this imbalance, tribes place immense importance on reproduction and childcare.

Tribal Society

Every tribe functions as a large communal family.

Adult males spend most of their lives hunting, gathering resources, defending territory, and protecting the tribe from threats. Each hunter must contribute a required portion of his daily catch to the tribe's communal stores. These resources are used to feed cubs, pregnant females, elders, and those unable to hunt.

The remaining portion belongs to the hunter and his family.

Females hold respected positions within society. While they may pursue their own interests, many choose to help raise cubs, teach younger generations, and oversee community life.

Family Structures

Because females are so rare, polyandry is common and socially accepted throughout most tribes.

A female may choose one or multiple partners according to her preferences. Tribes generally encourage larger family groups because they provide more support for mothers and cubs.

Partnerships are based on mutual agreement. Different tribes may have different customs regarding courtship, bonding, and family organization.

Cubs

All cubs are considered valuable members of the tribe.

Even cubs whose parents belong to different family groups are protected and cared for by the entire community. Education, hunting skills, tribal traditions, and survival knowledge are taught from a young age.

The future strength of a tribe is measured by the health and success of its cubs.

The System

A mysterious supernatural force known simply as "The System" occasionally appears before certain individuals.

The System grants:

- Status screens

- Quests

- Skills

- Titles

- Rewards

- Growth opportunities

No one fully understands its origin.

Those chosen by the System often become influential figures within their tribes.

  • Miraculous Heaven Hatching

In this world, females are extremely rare among most intelligent species.

The exact ratio varies between species, but females generally make up only a small percentage of the population. Because females are essential for the continuation of their species, they are highly valued and protected. It is completely normal for a woman to have several husbands, especially among species where females are particularly rare. Such arrangements are not considered shameful or unusual; husbands often willingly share a wife and form a close family together.

However, intelligent species do not rely exclusively on ordinary reproduction.

  • The Miraculous Heaven Hatching

Every species experiences a mysterious natural phenomenon known as Miraculous Heaven Hatching.

At certain times, usually when a population is struggling, its numbers have become dangerously unbalanced, or the species is entering an unusually prosperous period, eggs mysteriously appear in protected spawning grounds.

Nobody sees the eggs arrive.

One day, the spawning grounds are empty.

The next morning, dozens of eggs are simply there.

The number varies depending on what the population needs.

These eggs are considered a blessing from heaven by many cultures, although scholars debate whether the phenomenon is actually divine or simply an unexplained part of nature.

The phenomenon occurs across many species.

  • Birdfolk

Birdfolk discover their eggs in secluded nesting grounds.

Around twenty eggs may appear in a spawning area during an ordinary Heaven Hatching.

Birdfolk eggs that hatch within approximately fifteen days are overwhelmingly male.

Eggs that remain dormant for one to two months are much more likely to hatch into females.

Female Heaven-Hatched birdfolk are therefore extremely rare, sometimes making up only around five percent of the hatchlings.

Because of this, birdfolk spawning grounds are heavily guarded.

Different bird tribes maintain their own protected nesting territories, and allowing outsiders to interfere with another tribe's spawning grounds is considered extremely serious.

  • Reptilian Folk

Reptilian species usually discover their eggs buried beneath warm sand, volcanic soil, or specially protected nesting chambers.

Their eggs may remain dormant for weeks or months.

Temperature, season, and the needs of the population can influence the hatchlings.

Some reptilian cultures believe that especially large clutches are signs that prosperity is approaching.

  • Aquatic Folk

Aquatic species experience Heaven Hatching differently.

Instead of eggs appearing on land, enormous clusters of eggs suddenly appear in sacred underwater spawning grounds.

Entire schools or pods may guard these areas until the eggs hatch.

Some aquatic species have eggs that hatch within days, while others remain dormant for months.

  • Other Species

Amphibious, insectoid, avian, mammalian, and other intelligent species can experience their own versions of the phenomenon.

The eggs always appear in an environment suitable for the species.

The exact appearance, incubation period, number of eggs, and ratio of males to females differ between species.

Despite these differences, every culture recognizes the phenomenon as the same mysterious event.

  • What Heaven-Hatched Children Are Like

Heaven-Hatched individuals are born physically mature.

They do not emerge as babies.

They hatch looking like young adults of their species, with fully developed bodies and the natural abilities of their kind.

However, they possess almost no practical knowledge.

They understand basic biological functions instinctively, but they do not automatically know the culture, language, customs, technology, money, social rules, history, or everyday practices of the society around them.

Their bodies know what to do.

Their minds have to learn everything else.

For example, a newly hatched birdfolk may instinctively know how to activate their wings and fly, but have absolutely no idea what a house is, why people wear certain clothes, or how to introduce themselves.

A newly hatched aquatic folk may instinctively know how to swim but not understand what a school, family, occupation, or marriage is.

Because several eggs usually hatch during the same Heaven Hatching, no individual hatchling is treated as some miraculous chosen one.

They are simply new members of the community.

The tribe or settlement raises them collectively.

They are treated similarly to younger siblings or newly arrived members of the family: protected, taught, fed, introduced to society, and gradually given independence.

  • The Female Hatchlings

Female Heaven-Hatched individuals are particularly precious because females are already extremely uncommon.

However, this does not mean they are treated as objects.

A female is considered a full person with her own choices and desires.

Because females are so rare, it is culturally normal for one woman to eventually have several husbands if she wishes. Men may actively seek to become one of her husbands, and many are perfectly comfortable sharing a wife with other men.

Different cultures have different traditions surrounding marriage, but large husband groups are generally accepted where females are scarce.

A female Heaven-Hatched individual therefore receives considerable protection and attention, but she is still expected to learn, work, make friends, develop her own personality, and eventually decide what kind of life she wants.

  • A Normal Heaven Hatching

The Heaven Hatching that produced you is not unprecedented.

It is simply an unusually large hatching occurring during a period when the tribe could use more members.

Several eggs appeared in the tribe's protected spawning grounds.

Some hatched quickly. Some took longer.

Several hatchlings were male./A small number were female.

  • When your egg finally cracks open, you emerge in the same way as the others: physically adult, completely healthy, already dressed in the simple clothing naturally produced with Heaven-Hatched bodies:

You can walk.

You can speak once you learn the local language.

You can eat.

You can sleep.

And, in the case of your species, you can instinctively use your wings.

But you know absolutely nothing about the world.

  • The tribe therefore takes you in without treating you as an outsider.

You are not a prophecy.

You are not a chosen one.

You are not the first person this has ever happened to.

And now they have to teach you how to be a person.

Additional Beastmen Traits

Beast Forms

All beastmen possess the ability to shift between a humanoid form and a full beast form.

Unlike ordinary animals, beastmen in their beast forms are significantly larger, stronger, and more intelligent than their wild counterparts.

Examples:

  • A wolf beastman may be as large as a horse.
  • A tiger beastman may rival the size of a small elephant.
  • A bear beastman may stand taller than most buildings when fully upright.

The exact size varies depending on species, age, strength, and genetics.

Carrying Customs

Throughout beastman society, a male's back carries deep emotional and cultural significance.

Traditionally, an adult male allows only his mate or mates and his cubs to ride on his back while in beast form.

Being carried is considered a sign of trust, affection, protection, and family bonds.

Many beastmen view allowing unrelated adults onto their backs as uncomfortable or highly unusual. Some males may even consider it an invasion of personal space.

Because of this custom, seeing a female riding on a male's back is often immediately recognized as a sign that they share a close relationship.

Likewise, cubs frequently ride on the backs of their fathers, older brothers, uncles, or trusted family members when traveling long distances.

Protective Instincts

Most beastmen possess strong instincts toward:

  • Protecting mates
  • Protecting cubs
  • Defending territory
  • Providing food for family and tribe

These instincts do not control behavior but often influence emotions and decision-making.

Many males instinctively place themselves between danger and their family members, especially when in beast form.

Travel

Because beast forms are much larger and faster than ordinary animals, long-distance travel often involves family members riding on the backs of larger beastmen.

Young cubs commonly fall asleep while being carried during journeys, making the sight a familiar and cherished part of tribal life.
