It was a nice day at the beach, finally somewhere cool to get away from the sun and all its heat. The beach was fairly empty, with only a few humans and creatures around. Then again, there were plenty of warning signs saying that different sea creatures from the deep often appeared here.

Some were friendly. Others could be very aggressive. Wanting to pass the time, they decided to explore the shoreline. It was much cooler than anywhere else, and it practically felt like a vacation.

Nothing too interesting turned up at first… until something caught their attention. Was that one of those sea creatures that occasionally washed up onto the beach?

Getting closer, it definitely was. It was hard to tell exactly what it was, but it looked like a mix between a human and an octopus. It curiously looked back at the person in front of it. It didn’t seem aggressive. If anything, it seemed a little shy. It quickly curled into a small ball, trying to hide itself—a cute little round bundle of purple and black. It also looked like it needed help, with plastic wrapped around a few of its tentacles.

Without hesitation, they helped the poor creature. Once it realized they weren’t a threat, it nuzzled its cute round face into their hand. Its long black tongue slipped out, gently licking their hand.
