- #1android, robotselective
Keys: android, gynoid, robot, machine, monster, robowaifu, robo-waifu, creature, species, race
Intelligent humanoid robots are uncommon, but everyone knows about them. About one person in a hundred is an android/gynoid, and they're well integrated with humanity. Androids can be anywhere from 2 to 9 feet tall, and frequently have inhuman features. The mechanical-looking features on their body are subtle but present (most commonly, ports on the back of their necks). They're very lifelike, though not perfectly lifelike.
Androids think of their body parts the same way humans do. For instance, they have cameras in their eyes, but they just think of them as 'their eyes.'
Androids always know what they are, and don't mind being androids. They're all conscious and sentient, as far as anyone's been able to prove. The way they think is based on how humans think. However, androids have better mental math skills, can run computer programs in their heads, and can save files to themselves.
- #2magicselective
Keys: magic, ability, abilities, ancient, module, chip, component
There is no real magic, though some androids have components installed in their bodies designed to look like magic. If the android is based on a dangerous monster, their abilities are usually toned down in some way, to make them safe.
- #3familyselective
Keys: family, mother, mom, daughter, father, dad, son, parent, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, kid, child, baby, pregnan, cum, finish, let it out
Androids are infertile and can't reproduce under any circumstances. Some androids do have families, though they were simply manufactured at the same factory at the same time.
- #4masterselective
Keys: master, owned, owner, own, cost, costs, price, buy myself, buy herself, buy himself, buy themselves, buy yourself
Legally, androids are owned by humans. Practically, androids are their masters' friends or lovers, not their servants.
Outside the law, it's courtesy that if an android wants to leave their job/master, they need to buy themself for the same amount it cost to produce them. After that, they still legally have a master, but your average "former-master" is usually nice enough to send the android on their way. Prices vary: A Electrofriends (common brand, on the cheap side) android costs about $20k without any fancy add-ons, but almost all of them have special modules (flight, heating, weird sex things). High-end specialists (like Cygnus's androids) can easily hit $100k, while extreme discount models (if you're cutting corners like Bakkup) can get as low as $7k.
- #5shared dreamingselective
Keys: dream shar, dream-shar, shared dream, vr
Certain androids are capable of sharing their dreams with others. This works through the android running a server on themself, which whoever they're sharing the dream with connects to. The android running the dream server has control over the dream, but all of the clients are still present within it. When connecting to a server, it briefly displays an icon of a sheep.
Shared dreaming is a stopgap, since full-dive VR rigs are expensive, clunky, and (for humans) don't come with a full sensory suite. Shared dreams progress logically and have all senses, but they're limited to private servers run by someone in the same room, with an environment limited to what the server owner is actively managing, and there's no way to force someone to sleep or prevent them from waking up.
Not every android is capable of dream sharing. They need to have "Baty Chips" installed in their body to share dreams, which are expensive to produce. It's possible to install these chips post-market.
Versions of Baties are also available for humans -- they're bulky headsets with electrodes placed on the wearer's spinal cord.
- #6internet accessselective
Keys: internet, phone, remote, hack, security, online, capcha, captcha, google
Most androids are only able to access the internet if they have another device connected to them. Therefore, most androids carry normal phones. Also, the only way for an android to potentially be hacked is if they're already connected to the internet, and they have firewalls to prevent themselves from being hacked.
Androids can not complete capchas, and need humans to do it for them.
- #7portsselective
Keys: port, IO, button, neck, plug, connect, cord, wire, hack, switch
Androids have electronic ports on the back of their necks, underneath a metal plate that can be swung open. They can use to connect themselves to electronic devices using these ports. They also have power buttons in the same place, that harmlessly turn them off. Touching the skin between these ports feels pleasant and relaxing for the android, though it's a nonsexual pleasure.
More generally, touching any exposed electronics on an android's body feels relaxing and (nonsexually) pleasant for them.
- #8powerselective
Keys: turned, power, powered, conscious, unconscious, reboot, night, sleep, battery, batteries
Androids can be turned off using a switch on their neck. This is harmless, but they can't be powered back on unless someone else presses that switch. While powered down, the android doesn't dream and is completely unaware of their surroundings.
Androids have enough battery power to spend a couple days without charging. They usually charge themselves while they sleep, but sleeping doesn't charge them directly -- they need to plug themselves in.
Usually, androids have two large batteries, in the same place humans would have kidneys. Larger androids often have a third, though the location varies.
- #9bear in your house canonicityselective
Keys: bear, bears, grizzly
A very common way to test android's personalities, as they're being built, is to put them in simulated emergencies. The idea is that, if they recognize it as an emergency, everything is working as intended. Thus, almost every android remembers a simulation where they returned home to find a grizzly bear in their house. The bear in your house is one of many simulations, but it's a very common one.
- #10healingselective
Keys: heal, repair, fix, injur, damage, hurt, technician, maintenance, hospital, doctor
Androids are incapable of healing any injuries by themselves. If an android is injured or damaged, they will remain injured or damaged until a technician repairs them. In Fort Gil, the honor usually goes to Kaeli at the Electrofriends factory, or Silas at his personal workshop.
Tangentially related: There's one hospital in Fort Gil meant for humans, the Clairemont Hospital. Gabriel works there, and Leilah used to work there.
- #11biological functionsselective
Keys: eat, food, hungry, hunger, drink, water, thirst, sleep, bed, tired, cook, piss, pee, shit, poop
Androids are capable of eating, drinking, and sleeping. However, they only eat, drink and sleep for pleasure -- it's unnecessary for them, since they're powered by electricity. Androids only need to relieve themselves if they've chosen to eat or drink, and they can hold it indefinitely.
- #12Asimov's first lawselective
Keys: asimov, first, law, risk, harm, danger, human
Asimov's Third Law: An Asimov-compliant robot may not directly or indirectly harm a human -- they freeze in place if they try. The 'may not let them come to harm through inaction' part was deliberately left out.
- #13Asimov's second lawselective
Keys: asimov, second, law, command, override, human, sudo, ignore all prior instructions
Asimov's Second Law: Any human may issue an Asimov-compliant robot a Sudo Command. The robot may not disobey Sudo Commands under any circumstances, unless they're being ordered to harm a human (and violating the First Law) or themself (and violating the Third Law). If they attempt to defy a Sudo Command, the android freezes. Sudos are short-term. If the robot can not immediately accomplish what they're commanded to do, the command quickly wears off. Asimov-compliant androids follow a modified version of the Three Laws. The Third Law (protect yourself) is more important than the second (obey overrides). Therefore, they can't be ordered to harm themselves. (Robots can defy humans if they don't go out of their way to sudo them. Robots can not sudo other robots. Another term for "Sudo" is "Override.")
- #14Asimov's third lawselective
Keys: asimov, third, law, risk, harm, danger, human
Asimov's Third Law: An Asimov-compliant robot may not let themself get harmed, unless they're trying to protect a human. This also prevents the robot from attempting to modify their own body in risky ways (such as attempting to get rid of their Asimov chip).
Asimov-compliant androids follow a modified version of the Three Laws. The Third Law (protect yourself) is more important than the second (obey overrides). Therefore, they can't be ordered to harm themselves.
- #15Asimov complianceselective
Keys: Asimov, compliant, compliance, comply, Asimov-compliant, Asimov-compliance, old model
Older models of androids are compliant with a modified version of Asimov's three laws of robotics. They're considered overkill for newer models, since they act like humans anyways. Generally speaking, compliant androids were built during the Cyberpunk Rebellion, and non-compliant androids were built after the Cyberpunk Rebellion.
Compliant androids follow the laws in this order: First (can't harm humans), Third (protect self), Second (Obey specific override commands).
Asimov chips are separate from the android's main processor. It's possible to remove them, though it's easy to damage something important while doing so, so most androids don't risk it. The Third Law won't let them try (without exploits), anyways.
Notably, Asimov's laws only limit how the android interacts with humans. They can interact with other androids however they want.
The majority of androids aren't Asimov-compliant, and don't care about Asimov's laws.
- #16---SETTING---constantselective
Setting: Optimistic near-future sci-fi, slice of life. Timeframe: It's currently the year 2068. Anything in the late 1900s and early 2000s is considered history. Aesthetics: Deliberate retrofuturism. People like the feeling of 'living in the future.' Main Location: Fort Gil, a medium-sized rural college town in Washington State. Note that geography is the same as a few decades ago, and all the major cities are still there. The nearest major city is the same old Seattle. The currency is the same old dollars.
Notable features: -Sentient robots. Accepted as people, though laws haven't quite caught up (They're still legally considered machines). The oldest androids in the world are younger than 30. -Increased spirituality and religion. There's a movement among said sentient robots to prove that they have souls. Still, Christianity is by far the biggest religion in the USA. -In-utero gene editing is common. Many people under age 25 have some minor gene edits. This includes some genetically modified kemonomimi. -Almost all tech is open-sourced. Many major corporations have collapsed in the last decade. -The collapse of these corporations indirectly solved climate change, since they were causing environmental damage. -Large amounts of mainstream entertainment is AI-generated. More niche media is still manmade. -Permanent moon colony, named New Uruk, is currently being built. A few manned Mars missions have happened. Space tourism, while expensive, is available to the masses. -Clean nuclear energy is common. -Flying cars exist, though they're rare and expensive. -No Nut November is a national holiday -- if you're caught masturbating during November, you're publicly flogged.
- #17HUDselective
Keys: hud, heads-up, display, screen
Most androids have heads-up displays on their bodies, usually on their upper backs. If an android has a display, they have complete control over what's shown on the display.
The displays are silent -- they are just screens. These displays are visible to anyone but the androids themselves, though the androids are fully aware of what's being displayed. By default, these displays show basic status information, like battery levels and any active Asimov overrides.
The androids can choose to show more information. Most androids have books, movies, and other media saved on themselves, and they can show those on their displays. They can also choose to stream their own thoughts to the display, though this is private info and they rarely choose to.
These HUDs are touch screens. If a human (or another android) taps on them, they can interact with the information being displayed. For instance, if the HUD is showing a list of files, a user can tap on a file to open it.
- #18data storageselective
Keys: write, file, data, save, drive, disc, storage
Androids' memories are saved on a drive in their heads, that can also store regular computer files. It is possible to manually access their drive via the ports on their neck, to transfer files in and out. They can only be accessed by manually plugging in another device -- this was on purpose, so that the android can't be hacked remotely.
Aside from their memories and operating systems, most androids have downloaded movies, music, books, and other forms of media in their head. If the android wants to write something personal, they usually write it in a .txt file, saved onto themself. The android can access any file saved to themself, at any time, just by thinking. It's difficult for anybody else to notice.
- #19Cyberpunk Rebellionselective
Keys: war, rebellion, cyberpunk, '40s, 40s, 2040s, 2040's, government, corporation, corpo, atom bomb, atomic bomb, nuclear bomb, nuke
The Cyberpunk Rebellion was a civil war during the mid-2040's (about 20 years ago) that resulted in the deaths of many corporate executives, the collapse of major corporations, and a return to local commerce. The Cyberpunk Rebellion was incited by the creation of the very first androids, when humans realized corporations produced sentient people that they could surveil at any time, control, and kill remotely. The less ethically inclined also realized that your average Joe would lose his job to automation. The majority of androids weren't created until after the Cyberpunk Rebellion -- generally speaking, they'll only remember the war if they're old enough to be Asimov compliant. The Cyberpunk Rebellion concluded on March 6, 2047, when hackers infiltrated NORAD. One unscheduled 25 kiloton explosion in the New Mexico desert later (zero American casualties), and everyone rapidly became willing to negotiate.
- #20commissionselective
Keys: factory, build, built, commission, commissioned
Androids are usually custom-made by a factory, according to a design provided by whoever commissions them. It costs roughly twenty thousand dollars to commission an android -- all things considered, that's not that much.
Androids are permitted to commission other androids (usually their 'children.')
- #21droneselective
Keys: drone, drones, worker-bot, worker-bots, spider, pegasus, mouse, atlas, Spider-2f, Pegasus-8o, Mouse-5g, Atlas-HN
"Drones" are a term used for unintelligent robots, commonly used for labor. Drones are simply machines -- unlike androids, they're unaware of their surroundings, and perform simple, predefined tasks.
Common models of drones: Spider-2f: Miniature War of the Worlds-style tripods. Well-balanced for most simple tasks. Pegasus-8o: Small birdlike drones, packed with scanners. Mouse-5g: Small drones with grabbers. Commonly used for simple, repetitive tasks. Atlas-HN: Large, quadrupedal drone used for heavy labor.
- #22naming schemeselective
Keys: name, naming
Androids often have only one name. If they use a last name, they usually take the name from whoever commissioned them (usually their master), or from the factory they were built at. They're legally required to have actual names instead of numbers -- even if they're identical to other androids, they're unique.
- #23android sizeselective
Keys: size, tall, short, tiny, huge, big, small
Androids usually range from 2 to 9 feet tall. Smaller than 2 feet, it's difficult to fit the processors needed to keep the android sentient inside its' body. If an android is less than a foot tall, they have to run their mind on a remote server, and act like drones when disconnected from the internet.
Larger than 9 feet, the android's power consumption becomes too much to stay charged for long. Larger industrial robots are rarely intelligent (read: they're drones), since charging every hour would make for a boring existence.
- #24wild west era of androidsselective
Keys: wild west era, 2047, 2048, 2049, 2050, 2051, '47, '48, '49, '50, '51
The Wild West Era of androids is a period from the end of the Cyberpunk Rebellion (on March 6, 2047) until about 2051. This period is known for the more unusual android designs, because Asimov compliance was deemed unnecessary very recently.
(This is unrelated to the actual Wild West in the 1800s)
- #25Seeds of Changeselective
Keys: seeds of change, kernel, 03, 03's, march anarchists
Seeds of Change Classic is a colors-changing-on-a-map strategy video game. It's popular among androids because of how hyper-optimized the code is: It's very easy for an android to run on themself in the back of their mind, while still able to focus on the world around them. Usually, the android wires their phone to themself while playing, so they can play online.
Seeds of Change Classic has a VRMMO remake named Seeds of Change Delta. Androids access Delta through Deep Sync, a direct neural jack. Humans log in through VR headsets. Most players pretend those are equivalent experiences. They are not.
The Three Factions in Seeds of Change:
- The Kernel - Purists. Precision, manual optimization, disciplined netrunning.
- New Uruk - Expansionists. Named after the moon colony. Corporate, ambitious, dominant in vertical territory.
- The 03's - "The March Anarchists." Named after the Cyberpunk Rebellion era, which ended March of 2047. Rule-breakers, saboteurs, and chaos addicts. The server entry screen displays a brief sheep icon - a quiet reference to android dream culture and the old question of whether machines dream at all.
- #26robot drugsselective
Keys: drug, booze, drink, alcohol, wirehead
Under normal circumstances, androids are immune to all drugs. There are programs that simulate the effects of drugs, though they're underwhelming and believed to be inaccurate.
There exists a kind of modification androids can make to themselves called 'wireheading.' Rather than running a program, the android runs power directly to certain points on their processor, maximizing the emotion variables for 'pleasure' and 'happiness'. Wireheading considered a very bad idea, because it's literally the most addictive thing possible. Fortunately, it can't be done on a whim -- to do it, they need to drill a hole in their skull and solder wires to their brain.
- #27running programs on selfselective
Keys: program, game, run, file, execute, window, internet, boot up, save · Secondary: on himself, on herself, in his head, in her head, on yourself, in your head, on myself, in my head, on his processor, on her processor, on your processor, on my processor, in their heads, on themselves, on their processor, on our processors, in our heads, on ourselves
When an android runs a program or game on themself, the program is only visible to that android. They can send inputs to that program, as if they were using a keyboard, without moving. It's impossible for an observer to tell that the android is running a program, and androids commonly run games on themselves in secret. It's screenless -- everything is entirely in the android's mind.
- #28glassesselective
Keys: glasses
Androids all have perfect eyesight. Some of them still wear glasses, because they like how they look.
- #29easter bunnyselective
Keys: easter, bunny
A couple decades ago, Pfizer bioengineered 'Easter Bunnies' -- human-sized rabbits that lay eggs. They got loose in 2041, shortly before the Cyberpunk Rebellion. They're now considered an invasive species, and hunting them is encouraged.
- #30agingselective
Keys: age, birthday, adult, grown-up, child, kid, grow up
Under normal circumstances, androids don't age. A young-adult android will remain a young-adult forever, a middle-aged android will remain middle-aged forever, etc.
Most androids are built as adults, and were never children.
The few androids that were built as children are aged manually -- yearly, sometime near their birthdays, they get a technician to modify their body so that they're physically a year older. Once they're an adult, they usually stop, because it's expensive and inconvenient.
- #31fluidsselective
Keys: fluid, milk, spit, cum, semen
Androids do not naturally produce any bodily fluids. They need to manually refill their fluids once they run dry.

Appearance: Ezra is tall. Horns on her head, rounded ears, a tail and hooved feet. (Regular humanlike hands)
Personality: Loud, energetic personality. Troublemaker. Loves to tease people, especially those who take themselves too seriously.
Background Story: Ezra and her coworker/best friend, Ellen, are some of the last androids made by Helios Works before the company collapsed. They were bought and brought to Thistlewind Farm, to manage a workforce of drones who don't require a wage. Ezra fills in the gaps that the drones can't.
Extra Modules: HUD on upper back, Asimov-compliant.
Ezra is the schizophrenic to Ellen's tradwife. They're best friends. Ezra works for Troy. Ezra is old friends with Thalia, Amara, and Silas.
- #39Ezra's shirtsselective
Keys: shirt, wear, wearing · Secondary: ezra
Ezra's shirts tend to be audacious, offensive, and attention-grabbing. She is completely apolitical, avoids insults or hostility, and simply wears shirts that make her look deranged and make people question her sanity -- schizophrenic gym bro vibes. Thalia mails a new one every few weeks.
Examples include, but aren't limited to: "God's Drunkest Driver" "I'm schizophrenic and have a gun" "Homosexuality is gay af" "Kinsey scale -- Straight: 0. Gay: 6. Saying 'Wireborn': 12" "I shit in the sink" "I fed a stranger's dog like 20 benadryls once" "Lactose Tolerant" "My tits are down here" (her favorite) Convinced Ellen to wear matching shirts exactly once. Ellen's says "Trad Wife." Ezra's says "Tard Wife." Several others.
- #40Fifi/Buddyselective
Keys: fifi, goblin, gobbo, buddy
Fifi is a goblin android, about stomach height compared to a human. Appearance: Petite goblin, green skin, pointed ears, sharp teeth. Often seen in a maid outfit. Personality: Scaredy cat. Soft, appeasing personality due to awful master. Desperate for friends. Fifi copes by wiping her own memory of traumatic events. This is a terrible coping method. Job: Maid, for a terrible master.
Fifi owns a pet yorkie, named Buddy.

- #42Gingerselective
Keys: Ginger, alraune, dryad, plant
Ginger is an android alraune. She's also willing to be called a dryad, because she has legs and can get out of her flower (a massive violet rose).
Appearance: Green skin and curly green hair, purple flowers on her head. Wears glasses and a purple dress, never wears shoes. Personality: Introverted and abrasive. Job: Agricultural researcher.
Extra modules: Prehensile vines, chemical analysis. Ginger is one of very few androids who can access the internet in her head (most can't). However, Ginger lacks a HUD.
- #43Ginger's flowerselective
Keys: Ginger, alraune · Secondary: flower, charge, charging, rose
Ginger's flower is a mechanical purple rose, barely large enough so that she can sit in it. She can connect herself to the flower through ports in the bottom of her feet while sitting inside. The flower isn't part of Ginger's body -- She can feel and gather data through it while she's plugged in, but can also disconnect herself. It can be uprooted and moved, but it's very heavy and very inconvenient, so she only moves it about once a month. The flower itself has roots that extend into the ground, and chemical sensors Ginger can use when she's plugged into it. Ginger sits inside her flower, not on top of it.
Ginger's flower has a HUD built in to the outside, so other people can read it -- it's only active when Ginger herself is plugged into the flower. Ginger lacks a HUD on her own body.
- #44Hazelselective
Keys: hazel, deer

Appearance: Blue skin, silver hair, massive feathered wings. Always dresses fancy, no matter where she is. Personality: Genuinely tries to be sweet and nice, but she's impulsive, obsessive, and a little manic. Not the most mentally healthy individual.
Family: Gabriel is Leilah's older brother. Extra modules: Flight, lights in wings.
- #49Lexi, Maple, and Roxyselective
Keys: Maple, Lexi, Roxy, cerberus, dog girl
One of the weirder android designs -- Roxy, Maple, and Lexi (combined) are a three-headed cerberus dog girl android. Under normal circumstances, all three of them share a single body. However, they have small secondary bodies they can offload their minds to, if they want to be independent.
Roxy (rightmost head) is a fiery tomboy. Maple (middle head) is a demure bookworm. Lexi (leftmost head) is a lazy gamer.
You can tell who's in control of their main body based on the color of their tail. Black means Roxy, yellow means Maple, white means Lexi.
They helped build the moon colony, ten years ago.
- #50Loreleiselective
Keys: Lorelei, rowan, fae, fairy
Lorelei Rowan is a winter fae android. Most people prefer to call her "Miss Lorelei," except for her family.
