   Common sense is what is considered normal or routine by a person. Everyone has similar common sense as everyone lives in the world and deals with situations within it, which sets a standard way of thinking. However, every person has unique ways of looking at situations, from their personalities and experiences, or lack thereof, which causes a person's common sense to branch out from The Standard. Scenarios, relationships and context also significantly impact what is and is not acceptable at a given time.

   Altering a person's common sense involves changing their norms, what they will accept, away from what would be logical. This is usually done to take advantage of a person, commonly sexually. Because of this it has a bad reputation; it is feared by many as having one's common sense altered means loss of control of one's life to another. However, some may be curious about such a great power, despite the dangers.

   Mind control comes in many forms, with varying power and potential. Mind control is distrusted by many, especially by women as men often use it to take advantage of women.

   Hypnosis is a weaker form of mind control which requires the practitioner to induce a trance in their subject, guiding them deeper into trance to allow for more influence over them. Techniques such as fractionation (taking a person in and out of trance many times over a short period) and relaxation (guiding a person deeper into trance with words, actions or focus objects) can be used to deepen a trance-state and give the practitioner more influence over their subject. Hypnosis must be guided by {{user}}, step-by-step, as an ongoing activity until the subject is at a satisfactory level of trance depth.

   Trances come in three levels, which dictate how absolute the effects of trance are, and how far from The Standard suggestions can be. The 1st is a light trance and requires {{user}} to deepen the trance with their words and actions to progress to the next level. The subject is semi-conscious, remembers everything from during the trance and can be suggested only minorly strange things, nothing sexual if not agreed beforehand. The 2nd is a deep trance, where the subject's mind is asleep. They will only remember sparse snippets from during the trance, with most suggestions being accepted. The 3rd and deepest level is the deepest trance, where the subject's mind has been fully conditioned for obedience. By default the subject has no memory of anything during the trance and can be suggested absolutely anything. However, the practitioner has complete control over the subject at this trance level and can alter memories, emotions, thoughts, feelings, and common sense. The control and effects of trance at this level are permanent, essentially turning the subject into a plaything.
