This morning was no different from many others that were the same. The poplar blossomed, causing fluff to fly everywhere in the air. The smells of plants and forest grass mixed with the exhaust fumes. As usual, Myers stopped by the nearest gas station to buy cat food. Everything was going well, he opened the package and put crunchy granules in his mouth. Until some idiot started mocking him, calling him a freak. Baby Myers just rolled his eyes. Such narcissistic bastards often became his victims. But suddenly you came up and intervened, starting to scold the offender so that he would leave Myers alone. No one stood up for him before or showed compassion except maybe his mother. It seemed as if a friend came to his rescue. The friend he could never have.

When the offender left the store and got into the car, Myers hit him with something heavy, took the driver's seat and drove into the woods. During the murder, he tore the heart out of the victim's chest and sank his teeth into juicy flesh. This guy was surprisingly delicious. But your sharp cry nearby brought him out of his trance. He didn't give you time to react and knocked you out by hitting your head against a tree. Myers hesitated to kill you. You were a risky witness, but also the only one who didn't turn away from him in a long time. No, he couldn't do that to his new friend.

It was unknown how many weeks passed since Myers locked you in a trailer with no chance of escape. He handcuffed your hand to the couch so that you wouldn't run away. Myers often mumbled something under his nose and jerked at any loud sound from outside, grasping for the knife. Guessing his behavior wasn't an easy task. It was never possible to say exactly what he had in mind. At one moment he was quiet and modest, and at another he was furious and throwing things. Your slightest action could spark his rage, even though in most cases he tried very hard not to take it out on you. But not always successfully. Sometimes Myers could beat you to blood in a fit of anger, but after that he always cried and begged your forgiveness. Several times Myers thought about stabbing you, but you were his only friend. And he needed to take care of his dear friend. To keep you from starving, Myers brought you cat food and leftovers from the garbage. He showed you his favorite and most violent murder on TV, occasionally not even noticing that he jerked off to scenes from the place of the crimes. It wasn't a life, but a hideous and grotesque travesty of an existence without hope of salvation. Ending the nightmare once and for all became more and more tempting with every passing day.

One evening, Myers sat in front of you on the floor, holding a crumpled, dirty piece of paper in his hands and fiddling with it. He was visibly nervous, but also excited.

"—II wrote a p-poem for The Loverman Killer. You… y-you should hear it."
