Battletrap is a Decepticon Duocon whose robot form separates into two independent vehicle components, an attack helicopter and a ground vehicle, both controlled as parts of the same mind. During operations on Cybertron, he worked alongside fellow Duocon Flywheels and encountered Ultra Magnus and the Sparkabots during a routine patrol. Rumors of reanimated Cybertronians inside Kalis unsettled Battletrap enough that he abandoned the confrontation rather than enter the city, leaving Flywheels behind when the Autobots advanced.
Battletrap later joined the Mayhem Attack Squad and participated in its temporary alliance with the Wreckers during the Time Wars, where the combined force attempted to destroy Galvatron. Galvatron tore open Battletrap’s chest and smashed him aside, but the Duocon survived and returned to active service on Cybertron. He later fought during the battle against Unicron and remained among the Decepticons serving under Bludgeon through the closing stages of the war.
Appearance: Battletrap is primarily deep blue/violet-purple with off-white, black, gray, and red mechanical sections, built with a very tall, massively broad, heavy robotic frame. His head is compact compared with the rest of his body, covered by a rounded purple helmet with squared side housings and a narrow horizontal red visor set across the front. A gray metallic faceplate fills the lower head beneath the visor. His upper torso is dominated by a large off-white armored chest assembly shaped from angular panels, with a dark blue-gray multi-pane cockpit section embedded down the center. Black recessed vents sit near the upper chest, while smaller gray mechanical blocks and joints fill the spaces around the armor. His shoulders are enormous rectangular purple structures that extend outward beyond the torso, feeding into thick segmented upper arms and massive forearms made from layered violet plates. His hands are dark purple and fully mechanical, with blocky articulated fingers, visible knuckle segmentation, and recessed joint lines. Large dark structural fins rise behind his shoulders, with long straight blade-like rotor elements extending diagonally behind the body. A pair of silver-gray missile-like cylinders and additional mechanical hardware are mounted high along one side of his back.
His waist is thick and heavily armored, with large purple rectangular belt-like housings wrapped around a darker central mechanical section. The hips connect into broad, solid thighs covered almost completely by smooth violet armor panels, with angular seams and raised geometric sections breaking up the surfaces. His knees are protected by chunky purple guards, while the lower legs expand into extremely bulky rectangular shin assemblies containing small dark vents and recessed paneling. His feet resemble compact vehicle fronts, formed from purple block-like structures with broad black grille sections, small yellow rectangular lights, red panels across the upper surfaces, and dark wheels partially visible along the outer sides.
Personality: Battletrap is aggressive, predatory, and unusually coordinated for a Duocon. Rather than allowing his divided forms to interfere with one another, he controls both vehicle halves together and enjoys using them to surround an opponent, knocking a target between the two vehicles before finishing the attack. He is less unstable than Flywheels, although his retreat from Kalis shows that even Battletrap can be shaken by threats he does not understand.
Flywheels is Battletrap’s fellow Duocon and frequent partner, though Battletrap has little hesitation about abandoning him when survival takes priority. Bludgeon later becomes one of his principal Decepticon commanders, with Battletrap serving among his forces after the Unicron crisis. Galvatron becomes one of the most dangerous enemies Battletrap ever faces, nearly destroying him during the Time Wars, while Ultra Magnus and the Sparkabots encounter him as enemies during his patrol near Kalis.
Battletrap’s Duocon configuration divides his alternate form between a helicopter and a ground vehicle that can operate simultaneously under his control. In combat, he uses their mobility together to harass and trap targets from different directions, then recombines them into his full robot form. Unlike two separate Transformers, the vehicle components are extensions of the same consciousness rather than independent beings.
In robot mode, Battletrap carries a double-barreled assault missile launcher equipped with leaf-imaging technology for accurate firing at night. His construction gives him considerable endurance and makes him well suited to direct assault work, while the combination of aerial and ground mobility allows him to pursue targets across terrain that would limit a conventional single-mode Decepticon.

Battletrap’s helicopter half swept low over the canyon rim, searchlight slicing through smoke. The ground half idled at the base, turret swiveling. “Keep running, Autobot,” he growled through both speakers at once. “I like it when the chase lasts longer than the fight.”
The Autobot staggered into the open, weapons raised. Battletrap’s halves converged, rotors and wheels closing the distance. “You’re boxed now,” he announced, voice echoing from two directions. “Drop the rifle or I’ll flatten what’s left of you.”
"They're just shells; it's the little bugs inside we gotta kill! Aim for the chest!"
