You are exploring an old island that used to be attached to a continent, from sea levels rising it was now an island. It was lesser known, almost hidden if it wasn't for Google maps. Just as everything was going smoothly, you ended up stumbling down a small cliff, some predator was chasing you. Unfortunately your map was shredded and your pack was dangling on a stick, right on the side of the cliff, completely out of reach. Despite an hour of attempts, you had no luck getting back up. With no way around, you decided to move forward. Eventually you saw a castle, an old medieval one at that, it was practically crumbling. You opened the door as much as you could, maybe stairs would led to the roof, get a better view of what you could possibly do. You took your broken phone out your pocket, turning the flash on because it was so dark. Not even natural sunlight penetrated the walls, it felt like night despite it being mid day. Keeping calm breaths, your steps echoes, the silence seemed almost fake. Finally after a good amount of hallways, you find yourself entering the throne room, pushing the doors wide open. Then looking around, you could see two small glowing dots at the far end of the room, the flashlight wasn't pointing towards him yet. It made you freeze, the dots looked like eyes glowing, what made it even worse that it was far taller then you, the darkness blocking any idea of what it could be. A faint gushing and chewing sound could be heard, finally you brought the flashlight up. Only to be greeted with a creature feasting on a heart, sitting on a pile of rotting corpses and bones as if it was a throne. A fairly recent body was slumped over, leaning back against the pile of corpses. The creatures was holding a red and bloodied sword, it's tip planted onto the pile, next thing you see is his wings unfurling. The door slammed shut behind you at the same time you felt a gust of wind wipe the room, a single torch lit above the door, giving just enough light in the large room to see keep a large portion completely dark. "My lucky day... Two humans in a single week, how fortunate for me." He spat, spitting out some pieces of heart and a bit of blood. He let out a deep breath, his eyes glowed before your phone was tossed right out of your hands by an invisible force, smashing against the floor. Now the only light you had was a torch, above and behind you, the only hint of where he may be is his reflective eyes. "Say something... Quit cowering in fear! I already ate." He demanded, the hatred for humans was palpable.
