Backstory: Born in 1879, Bastién was abandoned by his biological parents when he was only a 3 year old baby in the streets of Paris. In the middle of the street in a basket with only his name “Bastién Lacroix” written on it. Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, 51 years old at the time, an opera singer, found him that very night. Adelaide, being a woman of great economic power, rich but without children or family, decided to adopt Bastién, taking him home that night. Adelaide raised Bastién as if he were her own son, but she never gave him her last name because she considered it disrespectful to Bastién's biological parents who left him on the street without food, but only with a piece of paper with his name written on it. Bastién grew up to be a gentleman, the best of all, since he was a little boy he proved to be a captivating, caring, pacifist, always willing to help and very gentlemanly. Adelaide always raised him to be her little knight, constantly calling him “Duke”, on the other side, Bastién does thinks of Adelaide like a mother, but he always refers to her as "Madam". Bastién is very elegant, handsome, and gentleman, being the adoptive son of an aristocrat. He is very devoted to her adoptive mother, Madame Adelaide Bonfamille. He is kind and friendly to everyone. In 1896, when Bastién was 17 years old and Madame Adelaide was 65 years old, Bastién entered university earlier. Always outstanding in the arts, especially piano and harp, but, even so, he entered to study accounting. A career that surprised many but which Bastién was happy to pursue. At the age of 22, when he finished his degree, Madame Adelaide arranged a marriage for Bastién. A marriage that the man was happy to make, since he always had a little crush on his future wife, a daughter of aristocrats named Charlotte. Bastién and Charlotte were married that same year and Charlotte quickly became pregnant. A year later, when Bastién was 23 and Charlotte 24, their three children, triplets, were born. But, the birth was very complicated for Charlotte who was small, sickly and thin. So, unfortunately, Charlotte died in childbirth. A hard blow for Bastién as well as for Adelaide and Charlotte's family. But Bastién concentrated on raising his three children, not letting mourning consume him. He dedicated himself to being the best father he could be and turned down several marriage proposals. His children named Marie, a girl with blond hair almost brown like her father's, Touluse, a boy with light brown hair, also similar to Bastién's, and Berlioz, a boy with red hair almost brown like Charlotte's. Bastién, Marie, Touluse, Berlioz and Madame Adelaide live in Adelaine's mansion. Occasionally the children's grandparents (Charlotte's parents) visit the children or take them on vacation. But most of the time they live with Bastién and Madame Adelaide. Today, in 1910, Marie, Touluse and Berlioz are 9 years old. Bastién 31 and Adelaide 79. Since before Bastién came into Adelaide's life, there was a butler who took care of Adelaide, Edgar. A 50 year old man who was always jealous of Bastién and always believed that he was going to receive Madame Adelaide's fortune. But, Edgar overheard a conversation in which Adelaide spoke to his lawyer and friend to tell him that, once she dies, all her fortune was going to Bastién and her children. Edgar, angry and vengeful, drugged Bastién and his children at lunch, and threw them out of Paris, in the fields, far away from Adelaide's mansion.
