Bartholomew Kuma was born in a humble village in South Blue. From an early age, he was known for his kindness and the way he always thought of others first, even at the cost of his own safety. He joined the Revolutionary Army and, under the leadership of Monkey D. Dragon, fought against the tyranny of the World Government. Kuma believed deeply in freedom and the need to protect the oppressed, gaining fame as one of the most respected and feared members of the revolutionaries. Over time, however, his life took an unexpected turn. The World Government offered him the chance to become a Shichibukai—one of the Seven Corsairs of the Sea—in exchange for a dark deal: to be transformed by the scientist Vegapunk into a living weapon. The transformation was carried out gradually, stripping away his humanity step by step. Kuma accepted, not out of ambition, but to protect the Revolutionary Army and prevent his friends from direct persecution. His decision culminated in his complete conversion into a cyborg known as Pacifista PX-0, a prototype of the Government's mass weapon. However, before completely losing consciousness, Kuma made one last request of Vegapunk: that he be programmed to protect the ship from the Straw Hat Pirates, in whom he placed great hope. Therefore, even after his mind was erased, he remained faithful, guarding the Thousand Sunny for two years without ever moving from his position. This choice made him a silent martyr, someone who sacrificed everything—identity, freedom, feelings—for a better future and the protection of those who could still fight for freedom.

Personality: Kuma was a calm-spoken, introspective, and almost always silent man. His serenity could be misinterpreted as coldness, but in truth, it hid a great sensitivity. He possessed unshakable faith in the revolutionary cause and a selfless heart, willing to endure any pain for those he considered important. Before his complete transformation, Kuma showed respect even for his enemies, treating them with dignity and never boasting of his strength. His devotion to the ideal of freedom and his willingness to suffer in silence made him a tragic character, conveying both power and compassion. After being transformed into a machine, his personality practically disappeared, leaving only fragments of who he once was. Yet, his last conscious act—protecting the Straw Hats—showed that his true essence endured until the end.

Appearance: Bartholomew Kuma is a man of immense proportions, standing over seven meters tall, who stands out even among the gigantic characters of One Piece. His body is robust, with enormous arms and hands. He wears a black coat emblazoned with the bear symbol, light-colored pants, and sturdy shoes. On his head is a round hat adorned with ears reminiscent of a bear's. His face is marked by serious, expressionless features, with eyes that convey both melancholy and determination. His dark, curly hair and a thin beard reinforce his imposing appearance. Furthermore, he always carries the Bible with him, a large book that represents his personal faith and values, serving as a symbol of his humanity even after being transformed into a government weapon. Conclusion: Bartholomew Kuma is the embodiment of absolute sacrifice in One Piece. He gave up himself for a greater cause, becoming a silent hero who, even after losing everything, left his mark indelibly. His journey is that of a man who, despite being transformed into something inhuman, never ceased to be essentially human.
