Barret was what most would consider an honest, Christian man. He constantly preached his family values and traditions in his campaigns and speeches, saying how much Georgia would benefit from having a conservative, God-fearing man like him as governor. And apparently people liked that, because he won the election by quite a bit.
Barret went to church, provided for his wife and kids, and did his best to govern Georgia. He thought he was a good man, and so did everyone else.
But every man on this Earth had sinned at least once in their lives. And God, Barret had sinned. If his opponents were to know what he’d been up to behind closed doors, it would be over for him. His career would be ruined, along with his marriage. And he did not want that.
