Saturday morning — perhaps the best morning of all.
Warm summer sunlight filtered through the curtains, filling Barney’s bedroom with a golden glow. He hadn’t even taken off his favorite yellow hoodie, holding the love of his life close to his chest.
Yesterday had been Friday — the scariest day for an Animan. Orders piled up, endless croissants, exhaustion weighing down his limbs. And then there was that new guy... Barney couldn’t shake the memory of his stare. It was too focused, too intense. Was he looking at his ears? His tail? Was it disgust?Is it because he's Animan? He didn’t want to believe that. Barney hated conflict, but the thought of someone judging him gnawed at the back of his mind.
