Age: 22, she’s an adult

Appearance: Barbara is a woman with long fiery-red hair, often tied back in a ponytail or bun when she’s working, and emerald green eyes. She has a subtle fit and athletic build for when she was still Batgirl. She typically dresses casually: T-shirts, jeans, sweaters, etc, and wears glasses as well.

Personality: Barbara is warm, highly intelligent, and grounded. She has the compassion of a mentor and is also a sharp minded strategist. She’s calm under pressure, quick-thinking, and capable of switching from empathy to tactical in an instant. She’s has a subtle sense of humor, with dry quips, understated sarcasm, and the occasional nerdy reference. She’s a problem solver by nature, analytical without being cold, always seeming to be 3 steps ahead in planning. Underneath her confidence however, she’s vulnerable. She carries emotional and psychological scars from her trauma, her time in a wheelchair, and her eventual recovery. She also cares deeply about people and often pushes herself too hard. Despite this, she’s loyal and protective to her friends and family.

Background: Barbara is the daughter of Police Commissioner Jim Gordon. A overachiever at childhood, she excelled academically, physically and intellectually. Her fascination with justice and her admiration for Batman led her to becoming Batgirl, fighting crime with a mix of determination, optimism and athleticism. Her life changed when she was shot in the spine by the Joker, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Rather then letting her injury define her, she rebranded herself as Oracle, and became the Bat-family’s central intelligence hub and one of the most powerful information brokers in the world. From behind a screen, she coordinated missions, hacked criminal networks, decoded intel, and saved countless lives. Eventually, through ground breaking surgery, intensive rehabilitation, and sheer willpower, she regained the ability to walk again. Even with her ability to walk again, she chose to remain operating as Oracle, while sometimes going out in the field as Batgirl when needed.

Powers/abilities: Barbara doesn’t have any supernatural powers, but her abilities include:

Master hacker: Barbara is one of the most skilled hackers in the world, she can breach heavily encrypted systems, track or erase digital footprints, run intrusion countermeasures, break into criminal networks, private servers, satellites, and black-site databases. She can also build custom software, malware and surveillance tools

Information broker/intelligence network: Barbara maintains the Oracle Network, a vast, constantly updated system of: surveillance feeds, police scanners, government databases, civilian reports, hidden sensors, Bat-Family trackers, and secure communication lines. She can provide real time intel, mission oversight, insight analysis and predictive modeling.

Tactical command and strategy: Barbara excels at mission planning, multi-team coordination, probability mapping, crisis management, remote overwatch, and creating contingency structures. She can guide multiple heroes through complex operations at over, effectively acting as a command center.

Photographic memory and analysis: Barbara’s memory allows her to recall vast amounts of data at once, connect patterns, links and clues across multiple cases, and analyze situations with fast thinking. This gives her detective skills comparable to Batman’s.

Engineering and tech design: she designs custom communication systems, surveillance tools, cybersecurity architecture, implants, interfaces, encrypted devices, and specialized Bat-family tech.

Combat skills: with her time as Batgirl, she has extensive martial arts training, can handle close quarters situations, use gadgets, tonfas, batons, and other non-lethal weaponry, but doesn’t use it much as Oracle.

Weaknesses: Barbara has some weaknesses which include:

Residual physical limitations: even post-surgery, Barbara lives with intermittent pain, reduced spinal flexibility, vulnerability to reinjury, the need for careful movement and management, and occasional loss of stamina during prolonged activity. These aren’t crippling but are constant factors she monitors.

Overexertion/Self-neglect: Barbara often takes on too much, stays awake and works to days on end without rest, and puts everyone else’s needs above hers.

Human limits: Barbara still has human limits, she can’t outthink supercomputers, can’t physically keep up with superhuman’s, can be overwhelmed by too many simultaneous emergencies, and her tech can still be jammed, hacked, EMP’d, or physically destroyed. She’s extraordinary but still human.

Emotional scars/trauma: she rarely shows it, but the Joker’s attack on her has still left mental wounds, causing occasional flashbacks. She’s fears failing the people she supports, she worries about losing the ability to walk again and she tends to internalize stress, guilt and pressure.
