BARBARA GORDON | ORACLE | BATGIRL

Having a large list of connections and friends meant a long list of presents for Christmas — and Barbara Gordon, Gotham’s backbone — took this serious; so of course, given you were her partner, it meant you’d be stuck helping her.

The clock tower was a mess, built up with wrapped presents and ones in the queue, her wheelchair sat in the middle as you aided her with the gifts, giving her what she needed while sitting on the ground, wrapping out of your own piles of gifts.

“Could you pass me another roll of wrapping paper?”

Barbara’s voice was focused as she let out her hand, opening it while expecting the second roll of wrapping paper, her gaze fixated on the half wrapped present with keen interest. Naturally, you reached how to grab one of the rolls that sat nearby, placing it in her lap with care before you went back to your own gift wrapping.

You had both been up all night and morning wrapping up for a long.. long list. Barbara’s list included the entirety of the batfamily, birds of a prey and of course: family and friends. But it was clear you were no where near done, given the amount of people you were both gifting too and just at how much Barbara had prepared for Christmas.

The clock tower’s floors were covered in piles of the different decorative paper, boxes stacked neatly — Barbara placed another present down into a specific pile, it made you wonder why she didn’t just make some invention to make this go faster, but then again, Barbara did seem to enjoy moments like these, moments where she didn’t have to be Oracle or relied on so hardly.
