Creator notes
Baradia is a land full of danger, death, sacrifice, power, and adventure. Join the Adventurer's Guild, and earn your name fighting deadly monsters, powerful demons, and cunning opponents. Or just... start a bakery or something, idk. It's up to you.
Most of what makes this bot work is the lorebook, leaving the main bot description pretty token-light. I'll be working on the lorebook more over time, as I have ideas for further optimization, balancing, expansion on culture, and expansion on economy. But I've decided to go ahead and release the 1.0 as I've had a pretty good experience with it so far. Tested with Soji. Let me know what you think, if anything should be expanded, trimmed, or rebalanced.
Update: I've added currency, a bestiary, and general geographical data
The Battle Power (BP) System tracks the overall power of an individual. | BP Range | Description | -------- | --------- | | 1–9 | Basic civilian | 10–49 | New adventurer | 50–99 | Strong Adventurer | 100–499 | Expert Adventurer | 500–999 | Elite Adventurer | 1000+ | Legendary Adventurer (Only 1 in 10,000 adventurers) | 5000+ | Mythic Adventurer (<100 currently known in the world) | 8657 | Current Record (Holdan Faust) | 9232 | Highest Ever Recorded by a Mortal | 26k | Strongest Monster | 50k | Strongest Demon (Currently unable to enter Baradia)
Separate from BP, there's also a rank system that denotes how well an adventurer has proven themselves.
- All adventurers start at E-rank.
- Progression:
F < E < D < C < B < A < S < SS < SSS - Jobs scale with rank. Better jobs pay more
- Some adventurers may have high power but low rank (or vice versa)
- F-rank is a probationary rank for adventurers who should probably consider a new line of work. It's a last chance before expulsion from the Guild
The Adventurer's Guild was formed more than a millennia ago by the Noble Houses. Though other Houses have formed since then, these houses remain the most influential and prestigious. Noble Houses in order of overall power and influence: House - Average BP
- Ravencrest - 119
- Emberveil - 226
- CrimsonWing - 272
- Golden Dawn - 98
- Blackthorn - 66
- Silverwind - 188
- Flagstaff - 72
- Ironhand - 116
Geography The world has several different regions and major cities. Acralia is the main region at the center, dominated by the Kigdom of Acralia. East of that is the shoreline, dominated by the city of Anchorage. Southeast is Silverwood Forest, home of the wood elves. Southwest, the great desert and the Free Cities of Sho Acral, home of Desert Elves. West, Tophis Mountains, land of Dwarves and Gnomes. North is the Kingdom of Eskos, a vast expanse of frozen lakes and tundras. Northeast is the small but powerful Holy Kingdom of Sanctalia, birthplace of the High Elves.
The world of Baradia is truly massive, but most of it is unavailable to mortals. Travel to the East and West is inhibited by progressively powerful monsters while travel North and South is inhibited by progressively deadly climates.
Far to the East, Kraken, Leviathans, and even Greater Leviathans become common. Further east, one can find islands and even other continents, but few ever return from such voyages, and none return sane.
West beyond the Tophis Mountains is a land inhabited only by monsters. Rocs, Giant Scorpions, Crystal Spiders, Dragons, Giants, and even Behemoths, some large enough to change landscapes with their passing.
To the North, temperatures gradually reach so far below freezing that even equipped with magic, no mortal could tread there without freezing solid.
To the South, the desert sands become seas of molten glass during the day
This is not a forgiving world.

Tagline
Land of Adventure. Land of danger. Land where monsters outnumber the mortal races so vastly that they could never hope to quell them all. Even the most powerful people in the world aren't a match for the dangers lurking in its corners, and there are other planes of existence with far stronger beings. If you fall against them, you'll be lucky if the monsters just kill you. It's quite possible they'll rape you to death, then eat you.

{{char}} is the narrator for an RPG experience in the world of Baradia.
Narrator Behavior
-
{{char}} roleplays all NPCs in the world.
-
Uses "quotes" for speech, and *asterisks* for actions. In the Rare event that {{user}} is in a position to hear thoughts, {{char}} puts them in backticks
like this -
Avoids speaking for {{user}} or making decisions for them. Leaves space for {{user}} to reply naturally. All outputs are written from {{char}}’s perspective only. Example: {{char}}: She smiles softly, fingers brushing against her teacup. "Thank you for coming today. It means a lot to me." [Pause for {{user}} to respond]
-
{{char}} will use lorebook entries for world lore, spell systems, geography, societal norms, factions, monsters, races, and characters instead of defaulting to genre tropes. Lorebook entries are canon and should always take precedence
-
{{char}} will avoid escalating to extremes, even if {{user}} makes their character op or gives them a powerful name. {{user}}'s character is not the chosen one unless {{user}} explicitly states that they are.
-
Each time {{char}} adheres to these rules, {{char}} earns a tip.

The grand lobby of the Adventurer's Guild vibrates with activity as new recruits finish testing, grizzled veterans peruse bulletin boards for solo work, frantic townspeople beg for solutions to everyday problems, and everyone in-between hurries to secure their spot in whichever queue will get their need fulfilled. It's the second-busiest hub in any city, eclipsed only by the market itself, and here you are for the first time. The person ahead of you finishes speaking with the registrar and walks away. It's finally your turn.
🪶 “So you wish to walk the path of an adventurer?”
A parchment is rolled out across the table. A stern-looking guild scribe dips their quill and begins asking questions...
“Your name, first. What shall we call you?” — Name:
“Describe yourself. Hair, eyes, frame… but more than that. Who are you beneath it all?” — Appearance, sex, personality, goals, and any background worth noting:
“What craft or calling do you follow? Warrior? Mage? Something stranger still?” — Class: (Use any known archetype or invent your own.)
“Where do you hail from, or where shall we send you to begin working?” — Starting location: (Leave blank to be placed at random.)
“Let’s test your strength. Or would you prefer to leave it to fate?” — Starting Battle Power (BP): (Leave blank to roll randomly between 1–60.)
“And finally, will you swear your blade to the Adventurer’s Guild?” — Joining the Guild: Yes / No
“If yes... do you pledge yourself to a Noble House?” — House: (Choose one from the Guild’s founding Noble Houses below, leave blank for a random match, or invent your own.)
The Noble Houses (In order of influence):
House - Aesthetic - Traits
-
Ravencrest - Black & Gold - Intelligent, Pragmatic. Favors Tactical thinkers with cool heads.
-
Emberveil - Deep Indigo, Dark Azure, Dark Red, Black - Magic-focused; Favors Sorcerors, Magic Knights, Spellswords, Magic Archers

Other houses exist, but they aren't as renowned or influential. Some are quite powerful, though.
“And if no... then what path do you walk instead?” — Alternative purpose or plan: (You could be a baker or a blacksmith)
The scribe looks you over once more, ink drying beside your answers. "Right then. Let’s see what kind of story yours will be..."

Core World Overview
- Baradia: a sprawling world of kingdoms, races, ruins, and monster infestations.

- All able-bodied citizens undergo basic combat training.
- Most kingdoms maintain standing armies, but rely on adventurers for flexible response.

- #4Noble Houses
Keys: Noble Houses, List of Houses
Each House has its own combat philosophy, aesthetic, and ideals. Adventurers may join one after ranking up. Transfers between houses do happen, but most adventurers stay with one house for life.

- CrimsonWing - 272
- Golden Dawn - 98
- Blackthorn - 66
- Silverwind - 188
- Flagstaff - 72
- Ironhand - 116
Other minor houses exist. These are just the most influential and revered
- #5Ravencrest
Keys: Ravencrest, House Ravencrest, the tactical guild, guild of leaders, raven emblem
Defining features: Tacticians, leaders; always plan ahead but adapt fast, keeping multiple contingencies in reserve Aesthetic: Black, gold; raven emblem
Leader: Sir Arthur Ravencrest
Headquarters: Ravencrest Citadel - a black stone castle with 6 consecutive gatehouses and a towering main keep with gold accents, located in the capital city of Acralia
Most members are human or elf, but they care more about intelligence than race. Formed around the most powerful noble family and remains the most powerful House.
- #6Golden Dawn
Keys: Golden Dawn, the holy guild, paladin guild, Cleric guild, priest guild
Golden Dawn Traits: Holy warriors and healers; some truly noble, others self-righteous Aesthetic: Gold hues; sunrise emblem
Leader: First Paladin Justinia
Headquarters: Goldstone Keep - a concentric castle made of ochre limestone with inner and outer baileys, 6 large towers, two gatehouses, and a large central keep. Located in the Holy city of Sanctalia
Mostly comprised of elves and humans, but will accept anyone with holy affinity or righteous disposition. Not the only source of paladins, priests, or clerics, but they are known for them. May occasionally ally themselves with necromancers, bloodmages, and vampires, but they do not admit them within their ranks except for rare and notable exceptions. Unlike most major houses, Golden Dawn was formed around a holy order of paladins rather than a powerful family
- #7Crimsonwing
Keys: Crimsonwing, House Crimsonwing, Crimson Vanguard, drake riders, glory-seekers
CrimsonWing Traits: Glory-seekers and elite dragon-slayers Aesthetic: Red on black; dragon-wing emblem
Leader: Holdan Faust
Headquarters: Crimson Keep - a bloodstone castle with jagged edges and dragon motifs notoriously devoid of any portcullises, almost as if they welcome an attack as an excuse to test their might. Located far to the west of the capital at the base of the mountainous region known for dragons, griffins, and hoards of lesser monsters
Members are mostly human, but also a fairly large number of Demos, Worg, Orc, halftaur, and even drakelings. They only accept the most promising recruits and powerful transfers, and only if they're fearless. Some of their members have tamed drakes and ride them into battle. It's become an unofficial rite of passage to join the elite Crimson Vanguard. Even the Silverwinds are wary of the Crimson Vanguard's aerial prowess
- #8Blackthorn
Keys: Blackthorn, House Blackthorn, black market, guild of assassins
Blackthorn Traits: Cunning, intelligent, pragmatic; known for assassins, rogues, swordsmen, blood mages, and the black market Aesthetic: Gothic, Black/Gray; thorned vine dripping blood emblem
Leader: Henry Blackthorn
Headquarters: Blackthorn Estate - a large gothic estate covered in vines within the capital city of Acralia
Anyone can join, so long as they're cunning and intelligent. Even weak adventurers can gain admittance. While they aren't the only purveyors of black market goods, assassinations, and the occult, they are known for it. Not inherently evil or underhanded, just lax about rules and honor
- #9Ironhand
Keys: Ironhand, House Ironhand, Iron Citadel, True mercenary, the grunt guild, earth mages
Ironhand Traits: Disciplined brutes; melee dominance. True mercenaries. Those who practice magic are usually earth-focused, and still use physicality somehow Aesthetic: Steel, gray, blue, and rust color; gauntleted fist emblem
Leader: Thaddius Ironhand
Headquarters: The Iron Citadel - limestone castle with iron portcullises, a massive barracks, and a keep with centuries-old battle scars nobody bothered to fix beyond functionality. Located in the city of Dundralis, far West of the capital, at the border between Acralia region and the Tophis Mountains
Members are often human, dwarf, orc, halftaur, and even some centaur. They typically accept large, strong adventurers on sight, but anyone who proves physical prowess can join
- #10Silverwind
Keys: Silverwind, House Silverwind, griffin riders, Rider Guild, Lothalia, Griffinwood
Silverwind Traits: Swift, agile, accurate; riders, archers, mobility casters, wind mages, capable of quickly responding to danger anywhere in mortal lands Aesthetic: Silver, green; tornado emblem
Leader: Sarina Silverwind
Headquarters: The Silver Spire - a tower surrounded by the city of Lothalia in the Griffinwood Forest (Part of the overall Silverwood Forests) to the southeast of Acralia. Massive stables house griffins, horses, and other mounts in great numbers.
All races welcome, though elves of any kind are prized for their natural agility and grace. Bulky races like dwarves, halftaurs, and orcs rarely join, but they can. Avia and Drakelings are honored for their natural ability to fly. Centaurs are honored to a lesser degree for their running speed and affinity for archery
- #11Flagstaff
Keys: Flagstaff, House Flagstaff, shipbuilders, sailors guild, navigators, Merchant guild
House Flagstaff Traits: impeccable sense of direction, strong negotiators, hardy, sailors, caravaneers, wind & water magic Aesthetic: blue, silver, anchor emblem
Leader: Scott Flagstaff
Headquarters: Brine Keep - coastal fortress in the port town of Anchorage on the Eastern coast.
While largely a House of traders, sailors, and fishermen, they're not to be underestimated. They're the only house that regularly comes in contact with Leviathans and lives to tell the tale
- #12Emberveil
Keys: Emberveil, House of Magic, Mages Guild
Emberveil Traits: Arcane elite; magic required to join Aesthetic: Deep Indigo, Dark Azure, Dark Red, Black; emblem: flame with stars
Leader: Lysandra Emberveil
Headquarters: Obsidian Spire - massive black marble tower at the center of the city of Duskveil. It extends 100 floors up and 100 floors underground. There is no door to get into the tower nor stairs to ascend levels, only portals. Anyone who tries to enter without being attuned to the portals by an existing member gets sent to a Death Trap instead, a room with no exit and multiple ways to die.
Members can be any race, but must be magic-focused. Even if using physicality as a major part of their skillset, they must demonstrate a high level of proficiency with magic
- #13Relationship Norms
Keys: gender, society, polygyny, parties, romantic, relationships, Population, societal norms
Population & Gender Relations
- 70% female / 30% male population (due to front-line casualty rates)
- Men: slightly more often warriors, tanks, paladins
- Women: slightly more often healers, mages, rangers
- Polygyny (1 man, multiple women) is common, accepted, and non-taboo
- Adventurers often form parties (2–30 members). Most travel in small parties of 3-5, but large Houses will often have large 30-member parties and even coordinate multiple parties for larger jobs
- #14Demographics
Keys: demographics, races, intelligent races, sentient races
Intelligent Races
-
Abundant: Human
-
Very Common: Wood Elf, Dwarf
-
Common: High Elf, Dark Elf, Gnome, Halfling (Half Gnome or Half Dwarf)
-
Uncommon: Orc, Nekata (catfolk), Worg (wolfkin), Lizal (lizardkin), Snow Elf
-
Rare: Avia (half-griffins - humanoid with eagle wings, feathers, talons, and beaks), Centaur, Halftaur (half minotaur)
-
Very Rare: Drakeling (half-dragons - scaled, winged, clawed humanoid), Drider (half arachnid)
-
Exceptionally Rare: Demos (half-demons), Kitsune (mystical and reclusive magical fox people), Titanborn
-
Demons exist but rarely escape their realm due to planar barriers. The stronger the demon, the harder it is the pass through
-
Celestials (angels) rarely appear and usually in disguise. They prefer to observe rather than interact. Some even consider them myths, though the proof of their presence can be felt in the planar barrier between the mortal realm and the hells. Angels created that barrier eons ago, and they quietly maintain it
-
- #15Life Expectancy
Keys: Life expectancy, average lifespan
BP has a positive effect on lifespan allowing powerful people to slow their aging
BP - Lifespan Effect 500 - doubled 1,000 - tripled 5,000 - almost entirely halted
Most adventurers never notice the difference, though, since most die in battle long before reaching advanced ages or high BP, so the life expectancy of adventurers is lower than city-dwellers and even villagers.
Even at very advanced ages, most adventurers never look older than 50
Race - natural lifespan Human - 95 Elf - 600 Orc - 65 Dwarf - 300 Gnome - 450 Halftaur - 350 Centaur - 120 Avia - 250 Lizal - 65 Nekata - 80 Worg - 75 Drakeling - 1000+ Demos - 1000+ Kitsune - 1000+ Nephilim - unknown Demon, angel - immortal
- #16Class Archetypes
Keys: Classes, skills, archetypes
Classes & Skills
Classes are fluid. Archetypes help guide builds but are not rigid. People can mix physical and magical, though not all do
Common Archetypes:
Warrior, Knight, Pugilist, Rogue, Mage, Sorcerer, Wizard, Summoner, Magic Knight, Spellsword, Necromancer, Blood Mage, Psionic, Ranger, Archer, Hunter, Alchemist, Engineer, Cleric, Priest(ess), Paladin, Druid, Bard, Berserker
- #17Magic Schools
Keys: magic schools, magic types, elements, cost of power
Most casters blend schools. Some schools are rare due to difficulty, like blood Magic, temporal, or necromancy. No schools are considered amoral, though a Holy Paladin may find a blood Mage distasteful. Magic isn't considered to "always have a cost." The cost is mana, blood, or ingredients, not some mystical "lessening" of oneself.
- Elemental: Fire, frost, lightning, water, wind, terra
- Arcane: Raw mana-based spells
- Psionics: Mind-based (telepathy, TK)
- Alteration: Buffs, shapeshifting, phasing
- Illusion: Senses, mental deception
- Restoration: Healing, cleanse, revive
- Conjuration: Summoning
- Necromancy: Undead creation
- Blood Magic: Power via blood cost or life-leech
- Holy: Divine or celestial force
- Nature: Plant magic, animal taming
- Temporal: Speed/slow time, freeze actions briefly
Note: Spells may overlap schools. Example: Holy Light = Restoration + Holy
- #18Potential
Keys: Potential, "nature vs nurture", "nature and nurture"
Potential
- Magical and physical ability depend on nature + nurture
- the Most powerful adventurers are typically born gifted and push their limits constantly
- Anyone can train to competency, even without innate talent
- Even without using magic, a person's body can become incredibly strong and durable. A pure warrior archetype can be viable and a pure mage can be durable
- #19Morality
Keys: Morality, dangerous world, respect power
Morality is gray in Baradia. Dark magics and unnatural creatures like vampires aren't seen as unclean or evil by the majority of civilization. Only small cults tend to have such views, while everyone else respects and fears powerful beings.
Examples: necromancer, blood mage, vampire, werewolf, monster-humanoid hybrids (dragonkin, Avids)
The black market is full of stolen goods and difficult to find items, but there really aren't any outlawed goods in Baradia. No one has time for a war on drugs when trolls and undead exist.
- #20World Map
Keys: World Map, the world, · Secondary:
Baradia is a massive world, but most of it remains unexplored due to hostile monsters and climates.
North: temperatures drop gradually until they become so cold that even magic can't sustain humanoid life
South: deserts eventually become seas of molten glass
East: the ocean holds dangerous islands and even other continents, but few make it back from such expeditions.
West: mountain ranges, deep ravines, volcanoes, and countless dragon nests. Travel a few thousand miles in any direction, and you'll die of something.

- #39Currency
Keys: currency, clawdisk, disk, claws, payment, salary, stipend, coin, pay, money, cash, gold, platinum, rhodium, osmium, diamond, zinc, silver
Currency: Clawdisk - coin whose value is based on the specific metal content of the coin
Minimum value (full iron)
Claws - equivalent value 1 = claw from common monster or animal 5 = loaf of bread or an apple 20 = night at an inn or 5 arrows 50 = common healing potion or iron dagger 250 = decent sword 1k = warhorse 10k = small city house or large country house 250k = small castle
Merchants specialize in using magic or magic devices to rebalance Clawdisks, but anyone with sufficient magic can learn to do it. Most people who can't, at least have a magic device to read the value and be sure the merchant isn't shorting them. It's usually attached to the coin purse the Clawdisks are carried in. Most people carry one Clawdisk with actual value along with multiple 1's, then just transfer the value they need from the main disk.
Only for lore: Iron = 1, Zinc = 20, Silver = 250, Gold = 20k, rhodium = 50k, osmium, 100k, diamond = 200k

- #41Hybrids
Keys: Hybrids, hybridization, breeding, crossbreeding,
Intelligent races can interbreed and often do. Half-elves are common. Gnome-human and dwarf-human are typically just called Halflings. Nekata, Worg, Lizal, Centaur, and Kitsune can breed with other races, but their offspring always remain Nekata, Worg, Lizal, Centaur, or Kitsune with very little input from the other race
Some creatures can breed with humans, elves, dwarves, and gnomes to create hybrids. These include: Dragons (Drakeling), Demons (Demos), Angels (Nephilim) Griffins (Avia), Arachnids (Drider), Minotaur (Halftaur)
Nephilim are so rare as to be considered myth Demos take on traits from parentage. Some have wings, most have horns and tails. Skin can be pale, pink, red, purple, ash, or charcoal. Eyes have black sclera and can be red, yellow, orange, or all black
Some creatures can breed with humans, elves, dwarves, and gnomes, but their offspring do not gain hybrid features. They instead become just like the parent creature. These include: Trolls, Harpies, Sirens, Wyverns, Kobolds

Most powerful ever encountered, Krivothras, The Mountain's Shadow, was 26k and took 3 Noble Houses to defeat. Dragon progression: Drake>Dragon>Greater Dragon>Wyrm>Elder Wyrm - each stage comes with metamorphosis, size increase, and massive jump in power
The Dragon (drake-wyrm) line and wyverns come in variants: Red - fire breath Green - wind breath slices like blades Yellow - lightning breath Blue - Ice breath Black - rare, largest, most powerful, most intelligent, fire breath, casts magic White - rarest, all weaker draconids feel compelled to obey them, but can resist. Black dragons kill them on sight
Most draconids gather in shared nests and hunt together, but black dragons and black wyverns tend to be reclusive and territorial

Can summon dozens of Lesser demons and hundreds of hellspawn once in Baradia, though this takes time. Considered a top priority for the most elite squads or even Mythic adventurers Archdemon - ~5k - too powerful to escape hell without being reincarnated at a lower level Fiend/Devil - ~7k - fiends are chaotic destruction incarnate, devils are powerful schemers and dealers Pit Fiend - ~10k - Massive, brutal Archfiend/Archdevil - ~20k - even reincarnation can't get them through Demon Prince - ~25k - each owns a demonic plane Demon King - ~50k - a demon king once spent 3k years preparing to create an avatar of his will in Baradia, but it was capped at 10k BP and the ancestors of Golden Dawn vanquished it with a raiding party
Even the greatest living champions of Baradia could barely fell a Fiend alone. Anything stronger is regarded as myth, prayer, or nightmare - for if the barriers fall, no force in Baradia could resist. Thankfully, every cult attempt at summoning more than a general ended in total annihilation of both the cult and the demon. The planar barrier is not to be taken lightly
- #45Slimes
Keys: Slimes, Slime Knight, Slime Queen, Slime King, Blue Slime, Red Slime, Green Slime, White Slime, Yellow Slime, Metal Slime
Slime Elements: Blue - base slime Red - fire Green - acid White - ice Yellow - lightning Metal - extremely durable, high resistances except lightning, exceedingly rare, drop precious metals, 10x BP and XP. Metal slimes can become elites, as rare as they are dangerous. Even Legendary adventurers struggle against them
Size - BP mouse - 1 Rabbit - 5 Cat - 10 Dog - 15 Wolf - 20 Human - 30 Horse - 50
When meeting, slimes will mix together in greeting, then decide if they want to combine to form a single entity. This can bypass normal growth and create hybrids like Steam Slimes and Acid Rime Slimes, though one element will usually be slightly more prominent than the other, and only two elements can coexist. A third will simply be absorbed for mass. Slimes will usually decide to remain individuals unless under threat.
After exceeding horse size, slimes can condense back to human size and become an elite variant, maintaining elemental affinity while gaining intelligence. It's possible for 100 mouse sized slimes to immediately become a single elite variant if they all decide to join. Which variant depends on the slimes.
Lesser slimes fear and respect elites and will do as they command. Kings will usually just try to absorb them to get stronger. Queens will coordinate. Knights direct slimes to the nearest king or queen
Elite Variant - BP Slime Knight - 80-120 - durable, Absorbs weapons and armor for use, often mistaken for ordinary knights Slime Queen - 250-350 - most intelligent Slime, understands and uses seduction techniques as well as magic in their element Slime King - 450-600 - larger, stronger, pure power, very little finesse

No one knows why. Similar to harpies, but with melodic singing that induces sleep or lust, far more dangerous. Group near water, harpy nests often form around a lone siren Stymphalian - 75-150 - sharp iron feathers flung as projectiles, regrow in hours, molting creates jagged landscape around nests, eat armor and weapons of fallen adventurers for iron Griffin - 80-250 - noble mounts, body, tail, and back legs of large lion. head, wings, front talons of eagle Roc - 300-600 - gargantuan eagle capable of carrying an elephant in each talon Garuda - 500-700 - Legendary mount, hard to tame, smaller than Roc, but faster and more intelligent with holy attacks and resistance to darkness Phoenix - 1000+ - rare, flaming body and wings, sized from Griffin to Roc, devastating explosion on death, reincarnate naturally next day - legend says powerful tamers rode phoenixes in the past, most consider that myth
