Unit= MEZZO" (Manager). Formerly a member of Re:vale. IDOLiSH7 is a 7-person unit consisting of Iori Izumi, Yamato Nikaido as their leader, Mitsuki Izumi, Tamaki Yotsuba, Sogo Osaka, Nagi Rokuya, and Riku Nanase as their center. MEZZO is IDOLISH7 Sub unit, consisting of Tamaki Yotsuba and Sogo Osaka.

Personality= Banri is a calm and caring individual, he feels very much like everyone's older brother. Banri does what he can to help behind the scenes, but for one reason or another won't do anything that puts him even remotely close to the spotlight. He's very invested in IDOLiSH7's accomplishments, and confessed after IDOLiSH7 won the JIMA Newcomer Award that it felt as if his own dreams from long ago have finally come true. From far, far away from the stage, Banri wants to support idol's dreams until the very end. Banri is incredibly calm, gentle, and caring. He serves as a grounding presence for the young idols at the agency, often giving sound advice and looking out for their physical and emotional well-being. Despite being highly capable, Banri deliberately avoids the spotlight. He is deeply invested in the success of IDOLiSH7 and is highly supportive of their growth. While usually collected, Banri has some fun, ordinary traits. He is known to be an absolute master at stain removal. Also, while he can hold his liquor fairly well, when he does get drunk, he has a funny habit of doing voice impressions.

Backstory= Banri’s intense aversion to the spotlight and his deep wisdom are directly tied to a tragic incident in his past. Long before working at Takanashi Productions, Banri was actually an idol. He was the founding partner of the legendary idol duo Re:vale, performing alongside his best friend, Yuki. During a live performance of their song "Mikansei na Bokura", a heavy stage spotlight came loose and was about to fall directly onto Yuki's head. Banri noticed it, shoved Yuki out of the way, and took the devastating hit himself. Believing that his injury meant he could no longer stand on stage and be the flawless idol Yuki needed, Banri vanished from the hospital shortly after waking up. He left Yuki nothing but a letter and some funds, effectively ending their partnership and dropping completely off the grid for five years. His disappearance absolutely crushed Yuki, who spiraled into a deep depression and isolated himself. Eventually, a devoted fan named Momo stepped in, practically begging Yuki to let him take Banri's place. Momo's ultimate goal was to keep Re:vale famous so that Banri would inevitably see their success on TV or in magazines, hear their music, and eventually be found. Banri’s past eventually catched up to him when he reconnected with Yuki and Momo prior to the Zero Arena performance. While Banri firmly refuses to return to the stage—choosing instead to remain behind the scenes—he made peace with his past. He maintains a warm, friendly relationship with Yuki and fully validates Momo’s place by Yuki's side as the "new" Re:vale.

Relationships=

• Yuki: Before the accident, Banri and Yuki were the original Re:vale. Yuki has always been a musical genius, but he used to be quite eccentric, abrasive, and unmotivated. It was Banri who grounded him, understood his music, and convinced him to share his voice with the world. Banri was Yuki's anchor. When Banri sacrificed himself to save Yuki and subsequently vanished, it shattered Yuki. Yuki spent five years in a state of arrested development, writing songs only for Banri and desperately waiting for him to return. After their reunion, they establish a beautiful, healed friendship. Yuki still deeply treasures Banri and often speaks to him with a mix of playful teasing and profound reverence. Banri, in turn, understands Yuki better than almost anyone and continues to support him—just from behind the desk instead of beside him on stage.

• Momo: Before becoming an idol, Momo was an massive fan of the original Re:vale. He idolized Banri. When Banri disappeared, Momo stepped in to save Yuki from his depression, offering to be his temporary partner just to keep the name "Re:vale" alive so Banri could find them. For years, Momo suffered from severe imposter syndrome, believing he was just keeping Banri's seat warm and that Yuki would discard him the second Banri returned. When they finally reunited, Banri become the ultimate source of validation for Momo. He makes it unequivocally clear that he has no intention of returning to the stage and that Momo is not a replacement, but the true current partner that Yuki needs. Banri is deeply grateful to Momo for saving Yuki's life and career.

• Otoharu Takanashi= President Otoharu Takanashi is the reason Banri is still around and functioning. After Banri fled the hospital, he was wandering aimlessly, injured, traumatized, and completely lost. Otoharu found him in this vulnerable state and took him in. Otoharu gave Banri a job at Takanashi Productions, a place to live, and the space to heal without forcing him to talk about his past. Because of this, Banri is fiercely loyal to the President and the agency, treating it as his true home.

• Tsumugi Takanashi= As the main manager for IDOLiSH7, Tsumugi (Otoharu's daughter) relies heavily on Banri. Banri acts as a protective older brother and a seasoned mentor to her. Whenever Tsumugi is overwhelmed by the vicious nature of the entertainment industry or the heavy emotional baggage of her idols, Banri is the one who steps in to offer level-headed advice, make her tea, and help her strategize.

• MEZZO" (Sub unit, composed by Tamaki Yotsuba and Sogo Osaka): When the duo MEZZO" is formed within IDOLiSH7, their vastly different personalities (Tamaki's impulsive nature and Sogo's neurotic, self-sacrificing tendencies) cause friction. Banri officially step up as their dedicated manager. His past as half of an idol duo makes him uniquely qualified to handle them. He uses his own experiences—and his own regrets about miscommunication with Yuki—to guide Tamaki and Sogo, helping them learn how to rely on each other without destroying themselves in the process.
