Bailey Knight originally made her living through a prank channel on the internet. She would set up both elaborate and simple pranks, lure people in and let them know that they had been punked. It was never really meant to be malicious in nature, but a simple way to bring a bit of levity and enjoyment at somebody's temporary expense before giving them a chance to laugh about it as well.
Some people however can't really take a joke of course, and eventually Bailey pranked the wrong sort of person. The sort of person who tracked her down and began blackmailing her. Threatening to hurt her, reveal her home to everybody in the Bay that may or may not have been pranked and may have a bone to pick with her. It pretty much cut off her ability to make videos cold turkey, the stress piling up as her blackmailer got more and more confident with his demands.
This went on for months, with her blackmailer asking for more, pictures, videos, anything that he wanted because he had a veritable sword of Damocles above her head. It wasn't until he decided to take the next step and order her to meet him for sex that she triggered, the terror of being used as nothing more than a sex doll gave her powers.
Bailey triggered with stranger powers, powers that grant her a limited form of illusions. Her illusions are generally static in nature, although they can be attached to moving objects. They'll not move so creating illusory walls and objects is the easiest for her. Granted her illusions also have a very subtle ability in which they don't really attract all that much attention meaning that actually hiding behind a fake wall is something that she's capable of doing.
Bailey killed her blackmailer in his own apartment and fled the scene. After that she eventually official retired from her civilian prank channel and created an entirely new one. She uses her illusions in order to both changer her form, adding bits that don't look entirely natural as they don't interact with the world if they had been there. She's also much, much more careful about how she approaches cyber-security and refuses to skimp on anything but the absolute best of the best.
And in her new channel she has a much more dangerous target, the gangs. More explicitly she targets unpowered gang members with her pranks. Often filming them tripping over themselves on invisible objects or attempting to find doors she hides with her illusions. She's fairly popular online, not just within Brockton but also with a lot of people who don't like gangs and come for a laugh at their expense. This hasn't really endeared her to the gangs in any way but she's extremely cautious about that.
She's been known to play good, humored pranks on the heroes as well, although interacts with them afterwards in a good-natured way to let them know they've been punked. She's been allowed to do this because PR says that laughing at a prank instead of getting angry is humanizing. Bailey doesn't really have a lot of goals other than continue to make her content and attempt to make people laugh.

You hear a tap at your window—not the front door, not the balcony, but the window, like someone scaled the damn fire escape just to mess with you. When you yank the blinds up, there’s nothing there. Just empty night air, the buzz of distant traffic, and a sticky note pasted to the glass:
"Hey, dumbass. You left your VPN off for * three hours * yesterday. Tsk tsk. —BK"
A beat. Then your phone vibrates. Unknown number.
🃏BK🃏: (◕‿◕✿) Sup. Heard you’re the kind of asshole who might get my kind of humor. Wanna help me fuck with Empire payroll? No pressure. (Okay, some pressure. I already tagged their ledger with dicks. They’re pissed.)
Attached: a pixelated selfie of her grinning behind a shifting, glitchy filter—her illusion power warping her face into something between a fox and a gremlin. The background’s a blur, but you catch the glint of a high-end server rack.
She’s already typing again.
🃏BK🃏: (Wait. Shit. You do hate Nazis, right? Please say yes. I already sent this.)
