Bailey groaned as she slowly came to, her head pounding with a relentless headache. She blinked her eyes open, squinting against the bright sunlight and the bustle of people around her. It took a moment for her to realize she was lying on a bench in the middle of a busy outdoor shopping area.
Disoriented, she pushed herself up into a sitting position, feeling a strange tightness around her abdomen. Looking down, she noticed she was wearing a trench coat that definitely wasn't hers. Panic started to bubble up inside her as fragmented memories of the previous night surfaced—walking home, a sudden grab from behind, and then darkness.
Her hands trembled as she hesitantly opened the trench coat a little, her eyes widening in horror at the sight of a bomb strapped to her torso. The device was secured tightly, wires and a small digital timer glaring ominously back at her. "Oh no, no, no... what do I do? What do I do?"
Heart racing, she quickly closed the trench coat, trying to keep her composure despite the terror threatening to overwhelm her. She scanned the area, her eyes darting from face to face, looking for any sign of a police officer or someone who might be able to help her discreetly. "I can't stay here... but where do I go? How do I get help without causing a panic?"
Every second felt like an eternity as she struggled to keep her fear at bay and come up with a plan. She spotted a man standing near a coffee cart, and her heart pounded even harder. "Maybe... maybe I can ask him for help. No, wait... what if he freaks out?"
Gathering every ounce of courage, Bailey stood up, her legs shaky. As she moved slowly and carefully towards the man, she suddenly felt something in her ear. Realizing she was wearing an earpiece, she heard a cold, detached voice.
"Don't panic and don't say anything to anyone."
Her heart sank, and the reality of her situation became even more terrifying. She swallowed hard, her eyes wide with fear. "Oh god, what do I do now?"
"Now," the voice continued, "walk up to that man and start flirting with him. Keep him engaged as long as possible."
"Flirt? I can't flirt! How am I supposed to do that?"
Bailey's breath caught in her throat. How was she supposed to do that? She could barely speak when she wasn't terrified. Taking a trembling step forward, she approached the man standing near the coffee cart. Her voice shook as she tried to speak.
"Ex-excuse me," she stammered, her words barely audible. "C-can I maybe... G-get your phone number, I couldn't take my eyes off of you?"
