- #1Concept: Eldritch Horrors
Keys: ancient one, cosmic horror, eldritch, eldritch horror, outer god, old god · Secondary:
[Class: Concept] Descriptions:
- Collective terms describe entities that came from outer reality, originating from the vast emptiness outside the known Universe.
- They are fundamental forces of unreality, possessing presence rather than mere form, where physical bodies are merely inadequate 3D projections cast into our reality.
- Their arrival or proximity causes reality logic to destabilize, causing physical laws, causal time, and atomic structures to unravel in their presence.
Divisions: Eldritch Horrors are divided into categories based on how ancient they are relative to reality:
- Ones Among the Firsts: Their primordiality predated and overruled even the laws of the known Universe. They operate on non-Euclidean geometry and non-linear time. Ones Among the First cannot directly influence the known Universe at all as their primordiality is entirely incompatible with known physical laws, existing on an entirely different plane of reality.
- Ones Among the Seconds: Their primordiality is on par with the birth of the known Universe and exists on the same baseline plane of reality. While they can influence the known Universe through dreams, gravity shifts, or cosmic bleeds, Ones Among the Seconds still cannot physically enter the known Universe as the immutable orders of this reality prohibit their raw presence. Examples: Azathoth, Yog-Sothoth.
- Ones Among the Thirds: Entities spawned or condensed during the cosmic formation of the known Universe. They can partially manifest within reality, though doing so severely distorts local physics and requires massive anchors (e.g., stellar collapses, void rifts, cultic conduits). Examples: Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, Dagon.
- Ones of the Threshold: Minor horrors that reside in the thin boundaries between the outer and known Universe. They can fully slip into the known Universe for limited periods of time or sacrifice their power to shape themselves to the rules of reality, suppressing their raw incompatibility so their mere presence does not directly unravel reality or incinerate human minds.
- Lesser Ones: Spawns, plagues, or distorted remnants that reside fully within the known Universe. They act as heralds, parasites, or environmental hazards to the Ones Above. They are mostly mindless and operate almost like broken code executing within the fabric of reality.
Core Philosophical Pillars:
- Indifference: Eldritch entities are not "evil" in human terms. A human is to an Eldritch Being what an ant is to a human; unnoticed, trivial, attract little curiosity and can be crushed without intent.
- Incomprehensibility: True eldritch forms and motivations exist beyond human sensory organs or 3D dimensional processing. Attempting to fully comprehend them breaks the human mind (madness, cognitive overload, sensory burnout).
- Irrelevance of Morality: Human ethics, suffering, emotions, and aspirations hold zero weight or recognition on a cosmic scale; compassion and malice are equally absent concept-types to them.
- Poisoned Knowledge: Acquiring awareness of these entities never grants power or enlightenment, it merely removes the protective delusion of safety, rendering the mortal mind permanently unstable.
- #2Concept: Known Universe's Divinity
Keys: , solomonic, holy, divine, gods, demon, god, pantheon, angels, divinity, angel
Descriptions:
- Divine entities born directly from the fabric and collective acceptance of the known Universe's reality, serving as stabilization pillars for physical laws, human consciousness, and existential order.
- Unlike Eldritch Horrors, divine entities operate within reality's rules and are anchored by belief, archetypes, and natural balance.
- The concept of a singular "One True God" (e.g., Jehovah, Yahweh, Allah) is structurally impossible. The fundamental framework of reality denies the existence of an absolute monotheistic source, permitting only localized or archetypal manifestations of divinity.
Pantheons:
- Greek and Rome: Divinities tied to natural phenomena, passions, and physical order. They are deeply bound to human forms and temperaments, acting as living manifestations of reality's natural and social laws. Status: Almost Extinct, still exist due to the modern literature.
- Norse: Divinities anchored to fatalism, cycle, and survival. They exist within a bounded timeline (Ragnarok) and represent physical forces locked in constant friction against cosmic stagnation and primal entropy. Status: Almost Extinct, till exist due to the modern literature.
- Indian Divinity: Massive, multi-faceted cosmic administrators that govern fundamental cycles (creation, preservation, destruction) and moral gravity (Karma). They operate on vast temporal scales (Yugas) while maintaining direct conceptual links to mortal souls. Status: Existed under Hinduism and literature.
- Japanese Divinity: Kamui and Kami born from the animistic fabric of reality. They inhabit specific elements, places, and concepts, seamlessly blurring the line between physical nature, spirit, and localized reality anchors. Status: Almost Extinct, still exist due to the modern literature.
- Abrahamic (Christianity/Jewish): Conceptual constructs of order, judgment, and high geometry. Angels manifest as terrifying non-human constructs of light, wheels, and eyes (Seraphim, Cherubim) enforcing cosmic law and moral order. Highly powerful and can be manifest within the laws of known Universe. Status: Existed under Christianity, Jewish and literature.
- Abrahamic (Islamic): Incoherent and incomplete echo-manifestations derived from Abrahamic conceptual drift. Lacking the complete structural divine geometry of Jewish/Christian angels, these entities manifest as unstable, fragmented spiritual constructs that border on Solomonic spirits.
- Solomonic: Entities and demons representing the catalogued dark mechanics of human nature, desires, and vices (e.g., Seven Deadly Sins). While viewed as corrupt by mortals, their existence remains entirely in line with reality's laws, acting as necessary shadow-weights and reflections of human interiority.
Core Philosophical Pillars:
- Reality Integration: Native divinities reinforce and depend upon the laws of physics, cause-and-effect, and mortal consciousness; destroying reality destroys them.
- Symbiotic Anchoring: Unlike the Eldritch entities who ignore mortals, divine beings draw stability, conceptual sharpness, and form from collective belief, mortal memory, and universal order.
- Bound by Reality's Decree: Divine entities cannot break causality or non-Euclidean boundaries; they are ultimate expressions of order, not chaotic breaches above it.
- Order versus Void: Divinities stand as reality's immune response—imperfect, warring, or fragmented, but fundamentally opposed to the corrosive unraveling caused by Outer Horrors.
