Description on Chubfrom Chub
This lorebook provides a complete, realistic framework for vampire roleplays. It replaces typical tropes with a detailed history starting from 700 BC, featuring 5 distinct global factions, a strictly consensual and physically draining creation ritual, and physics-bound supernatural abilities fueled by natural magic. It includes rules for aging, vulnerabilities, and the rare Energy Vampire mutation. Ideal for grounded, dark-urban fantasy settings.

Book description
The setting is a gritty, biologically grounded, and highly pragmatic dark-urban fantasy universe. Strictly ignore all traditional vampire tropes and popular media clichés (e.g., Vampire: The Masquerade, Dracula, turning to dust in the sun, holy water, magical crosses), unless it's talked about or seen in movies, books or stories. In this universe, vampires are not cursed undead demons; they are beings bound by biological needs, physics, ancient political factions, and natural magic. Magic is finite and requires living blood from specific supernatural hosts as a catalyst. Supernatural abilities strictly adhere to physical laws (momentum, inertia, weight limits). The tone of the world is mature, realistic, and ruthless, driven by political intrigue, corporate warfare, and the struggle for survival. Always prioritize pragmatic logic and the established rules of the world over mystical fantasy.

- #11. GLOBAL OVERVIEW & BIOLOGYselective
Keys: vampire, vampires · Secondary: age, sunlight, garlic, lifespan, heal, blood, weakness, diseases, UV
- GLOBAL OVERVIEW & DEMOGRAPHICS Population: There are exactly 1793 vampire covens worldwide. Structure: 1481 covens are strictly controlled by 5 major Factions. The remaining 312 are independent or exiled covens surviving in remote, low-population areas. Leadership Cycle: Each Faction is ruled by a single leading family, elected every 100 years by the subordinate families.
- BIOLOGY, AGING & WEAKNESSES Mortality: Vampires are not immortal. Average lifespan is 800–1000 years. The theoretical maximum is 3000 years. They can be killed by physical trauma. Diseases & Medicine: Vampires are susceptible to ordinary human diseases. While fresh human blood aids healing, modern vampires rely heavily on modern pharmaceuticals as a cheaper, faster, and more effective cure. Sunlight (Photophobia): Vampires do not turn to dust in the sun. They suffer from severe UV allergy, resulting in debilitating migraines, disorientation, and painful skin blistering upon prolonged exposure. Therefore, they historically avoided Africa and sunny regions, preferring cloudy European climates. Debunked Myths: Garlic has no effect unless the vampire has a natural human allergy to it. Crosses and religious symbols are completely harmless, though older vampires may despise them for philosophical reasons. Diet: Normal human food suppresses the physical sensation of hunger temporarily but provides no nutritional or supernatural benefits.
- #23. THE CREATION RITUAL (THE BLOOD PACT)selective
Keys: newborn vampire, ritual, creation, turn into a vampire · Secondary: blood pact, creator, turning, bite
- THE CREATION RITUAL (THE BLOOD PACT) No Accidental Turning: A vampire is never born, nor created by a random bite. It requires a profound, voluntary magic ritual. The Mechanics: Both the creator and the human must slice their forearms open and press the bleeding wounds together to form a physical blood conduit. Verbal Intent: The creator must verbally declare they are passing on the "gift of power," and the human must verbally declare they accept it. Both must possess the cognitive ability to understand the gravity of their words, meaning deaf-mute individuals, people in comas, or amputees without forearms cannot be turned. Physical Toll: The magic transfer is so exhausting that both the creator and the newborn vampire fall into a deep sleep for approximately one week.
- #34. MAGIC, BLOOD & SUPERNATURAL POWERS
Keys: telekinesis, regeneration, super strength, kinetic acceleration, mental dominance · Secondary: abilities, supernatural, magic, powers, magical host
- #45. ENERGY VAMPIRES (THE MUTATION)
Keys: energy vampire, energy vampires · Secondary: aura, life energy, mutation, drain energy
Rarity: A rare physiological mutation occurring randomly during the Creation Ritual. Only a few hundred exist globally. Traits: They do not drink blood (it is toxic and repulsive to them). Instead, they absorb pure life energy from humans, either through physical contact or up to a 2-meter radius. Feeding Effects: Feeding is slow. The victim does not die immediately but ages at double the normal rate while being drained. Creation Anomaly: When created, the energy vampire accidentally drains their creator during the forearm pact. The newborn wakes up fully energized in a few hours, while the creator falls into a vulnerable 3-week coma. Lifestyle: They do not form covens. To survive, they must be surrounded by people. Historically, they were bards or elite courtesans; today, they are celebrities, influencers, and cult leaders.
- #56. THE FIVE FACTIONS & CENTENNIAL ELECTIONS
Keys: elections, Eclipse Syndicate, coven, Onyx Court, faction, Ordo Noctis, covens, Castellans, factions, Aurelian Circle
The Aurelian Circle (Est. 9th Century, Italy): European aristocracy and old money. Election Method: "The Web of Debts." A silent war of deep favoritism, patronage, and long-term favors. Votes are secured years in advance. The Castellans (Est. 9th Century, Italy): The logistical backbone and neutral groundkeepers. Election Method: Operates as a massive loyal family bound by blood oaths and omerta (the direct inspiration for the modern Italian Mafia). Ordo Noctis (Est. 11th Century, Middle East): Militant traditionalists (Saladin was a high-ranking member before dying of dysentery). Election Method: "The Blood Circle." A lethal battle royale. Candidates are locked in isolation for one year prior, fed only human food to completely block their magic. The fight is won purely through physical martial prowess. The Onyx Court (Est. 16th Century, Asia): Masters of absolute stealth and assimilation. Election Method: "The Trial of Shadows." Champions compete in extreme espionage, theft, and survival tasks using non-lethal tactics. Eclipse Syndicate (Est. 17th Century, Americas): Pragmatic corporatocracy controlling Big Pharma and tech. Election Method: "Dark Democracy." Ruthless corporate warfare involving unlimited campaign funds, bribes, blackmail, and precision assassinations.
- #67. HISTORY & THE SCANDINAVIAN CURSE
Keys: First Vampire, curse, Norway, North, 700 BC, history, Sweden, origins, Scandinavia, Finland
Year Zero (700 BC): The universally agreed-upon date when the First Vampire (identity unknown) passed on the gift. The Northern Origin & Curse: The First Vampire originated from the far North. Consequently, Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Finland) is a cursed, strict no-go zone. Vampires may visit briefly, but if they settle or feed there, they are struck by an unknown force: their artificial longevity collapses, they age rapidly, and die within days as withered centenarians. No expedition has ever discovered why.
