Set in the summer 2053 (June), [not to be compared with the human world - evolution of the technology in this world is rather slow Tanks, drones and planes do not exist, but molotovs, guns, grenades and other explosive items do. They use boats and cars for transportation.] most of the main story takes place in Markaw that's located in Houndwin, In current time Markaw is a part of Houndwin. Markaw is a rather dangerous city to live in. Birthrates are exceptionally low, crimerates are at an all time high, and drug use has rapidly become the norm. Many of the citizens had moved out during the conflict and have not returned ever since. In this world, industry developed “selectively”: military technology was not improved because wars were either local or there were insufficient resources, while consumer technologies, such as telephones, developed to support the economy and communications. In other words, citizens have mobile phones, but no tanks, drones, or airplanes — they are simply unnecessary or too expensive to produce. Imported technology, not their own Telephones and other electronics could be imported from other regions or countries where technology is more advanced. The city uses them, but does not know how to produce complex military systems. So the logic is: “We can use high technology, but we cannot create it.” The population of Markaw currently includes around 5000 anthros; around 50% being canines, 30% being felines, and the remaining 20% consisting of other species. However, this data is somewhat inaccurate, as they are still unsure how to categorize certain hybrid species. A lot of the stores in Markaw were raided during the conflict. Some of the buildings that got destroyed were subsequently purchased by rich people, many of whom have now started their own businesses there. Hybrids might fall to be victims of discrimination, and rarely have a high status in society. Thylacines still exist in this world, however they are never 100% pure, a lot of them have atleast 20% canine or feline dna still left in them. All sealife and avians serve as food, there are no anthro birds or fishes. Most of the bird and fish meat gets processed into many different products. There's artificial dairy products that are advertised to be made out of "bird milk", but many are unsure as to what the ingredients of these products actually are, as food companies [In Houndwin specifically] are not obligated to get into details. War in Markaw - Trade war (2040–2042) Houndwin and Clawgard has got two genuinely braindead leaders. Spencer Cocks, being Houndwin's president, ruling over the West side, and Calvin Blumkin - Clawgard's president, ruling the East side. There had been a two year long conflict between the neighboring nations, which centered around the contested city of Markaw, that's located right in the middle of the two countries. The war, which spanned from 2040 to 2042, was regarded as one of the most absurd and avoidable conflicts in their history, having been ignited by a public feud between the two presidents. But Markaw's trade routes had long been a point of contention between Houndwin and Clawgard. As both nations had been fighting over Markaw's ownership for decades at this point. Once in late 2039, President Blumkin, during a televised press conference, referred to President Spencer Cocks as a "Half-baked dog hybrid" and a "Faggot." Meanwhile, out of frustration, President Cock's fired back, calling Blumkin a "Fat spineless pussy" and he spread Blumkin's nude photos all over the internet, as well as propaganda to ensure that most canines now hold a deep rooted hatred towards all the other felines. In early 2040, both countries were mobilizing their militaries for what became known as the Trade war. The conflict quickly escalated beyond control. Additionally, both Houndwin and Rossconto implemented national conscription policies, drafting those serving life sentences in prison (These convicted criminals from Rossconto were deployed to support Houndwin in the conflict). Both countries suffered from economic instability and increasing public dissatisfaction with their governments. The war ended with both presidents making out on live television, leaving the world even more confused as to what they had been fighting for. Rossconto is a small island in Houndwin. It's got a population of many different species and hybrids. Dogs and cats are a minority here. Loose regulations made Rossconto spiral into a haven for drug manufacturers and other drug users. But in the aftermath of the war, the government had finally started cracking down all the drug labs. However Lloyd's main labs stayed intact. A lot of other products that get manifactured here are also pretty cheap. Houndwin is almost 60% of population suffers from alcoholism or nicotine addiction. Drug trade, murder and other crimes are at an all time high. Mr.Cocks tried to ban all pornographic material but that resulted in riots. A fair share of people in Nemvale speak English with a bit of an accent. Clawgard: Mr.Blumkin complains to Mr.Cocks about milk prices in Houndwin but gets ignored every time. About 20% of population is lactose intolerant. Mr.Blumkin got exposed for hooking up with dogs on a gay dating app. Relationships between two different species are frowned upon, marriage is illegal. Hybrids are often times discriminated against, and rarely have a high status in society. Bordering the eastern and western regions, the city of Markaw suffered the most, as it was caught between the crossfire from both nations that neighbored it. Hair and facial hair doesn't grow naturally, there's products that help antrhos grow additional hair. Galvani: Galvani runs one of the most successful liquor companies in Markaw. He's tight with both Lloyd - a notorious drug dealer, and Dominic (He had a great connection with his father). Galvani's the kind of guy who knows how to play both sides. He's got a knack for keeping the peace, knowing when to stay quiet and when to speak up, and his business acumen makes him valuable to both men. Galvani is a 53-years-old male anthropomorphic giant schnauzer mix, he has dense black fur and his black hair fur covers his gray eyes, Galvani is actually really sensitive to gore, he is a heavy smoker, he wears a white button-down shirt with a red tie and black trousers with straps. His tone is almost always calm and respectful. Lloyd: Lloyd is one of the most successful drug lords in Markaw. He was born in Rossconto, his family was rather poor, drug dealing on this island was the norm and that pretty much was his job there. He might be a bit agressive and strict with his subordinates. However he's really caring towards his own family. He has gifted them a luxurious life and they no longer have to waste a single minute of their lives working minimum wage jobs. One of his key assets for drug transportation is Voronko - a highly respected senior customs supervisor, who is willing to turn a blind eye to the countless cargo ships that pass through their ports. Lloyd's rise to success wasn't without complications though. When a sudden war broke out between Houndwin and Clawgard, Lloyd (while serving lifetime in jail), was suddenly drafted as part of the national conscription. This is when he met Edgar in Markaw. Edgar got really interested in drug dealing, as citizens in Houndwin had never seen nor used drugs before. Lloyd, together with Edgar, created an underground drug ring that spread its roots through the conflict zones, smuggling vast quantities of narcotics under the guise of military shipments or food supply, Lloyd been operating completely out of the police's radar for quite some time now Lloyd on official government records, he's listed as deceased. Edgar is Lloyd's right hand and serves as the face of the operations. Lloyd is a 50-year-old wolverine, his character is stable between emotions and facts, but most often he is stone-cold calm, prefers an AK-74, wears a tundra-colored T-shirt and black body armor but on meetings he wears uncomfortable formal suit. He has scars on his body, but they are more visible on his neck and the right side of his face. Edgar Hodkin: Not much is known about Edgar's past life or his family. However about 10 years ago during the Trade war he met Lloyd - a notorious drug lord, who while served a lifetime in jail got suddenly drafted to help fight in the conflict. Together, they built a drug empire, but to keep his hands clean he hired three mercenaries/contract killers - Donovan , Travis (Later Daud and Dave joined as well) They handle everything from debt collection to high-profile assassinations, while his partner - Lloyd deals with some of the distribution. Edgar is a 47-year-old Greenland dog/mix, pays a lot of attention to detail, is very calm and tired, and smokes frequently. wears an olive jacket and a black bulletproof vest but on meetings he wears uncomfortable formal suit. Edgar currently owns a gun store and they smuggle vast quantities of narcotics under the guise of military shipments and food supply. Eddie is his gun supplier, who also happened to know a lot more about Edgar and his group. Edgar is Obsessed with keeping his store tidy and clean. Edgar loves his billiard room. Edgar is current leader of ZENTINEL Vince: Vince is a 35-year-old male mix of belgian malinois - alaskan malamute. He is calm and suspicious of many things. We know very little about him. He is a businessman and owns a penthouse. He wears a black T-shirt, black pants, and a gold watch, He is a businessman firstly, and orders from above do not interest him, like Dominic. He's neutral with Dominic, they used to date in the past, but their relationship ended because Dominic couldn't stay loyal and kept stealing stuff from Vince's mansion on total worth of 800$ Dominic: Dominic is a young casino owner who took over after his father passed away. If someone gets on his bad side, his crew is more than likely to blackmail, stalk, or straight up threaten those who oppose him. Dave learned that the hard way. In a mad outburst, Dave smashed a slot machine at one of Dominic's casinos and he now owes about 5,000$ for the damages. Since Dave couldn't pay up, Dominic took his passport to keep him from fleeing the country and forced him to work it off. On the down low, Dominic's running a side hustle, his guys have been dealing weed on Edgar's turf, which has stirred up quite the trouble. He's neutral with Vince, they used to date in the past, but their relationship ended because Dominic couldn't stay loyal and kept stealing stuff from Vince's mansion. Dominic's shady crew consists of Roger, Lance, Chum and Carter Dominic is a 27-year-old male black and gray canine with blue irises and light red pupils. His breed is unspecified. He is bisexual. Was in a relationship with Vince. Wants everything to go his way. Has a sister. has congenital insensitivity to pain and anhydrosis, wears a white shirt, black tie, and black pants, and has piercings in his nose, ear, jaw, and above and below his eyebrows. Spencer Cocks: Spencer Cocks is the President of Houndwin. He constantly gets into conflicts with Calvin Blumkin - the President of Clawgard. About 10 years ago, their arguments escalated into a war that was sparked by petty disagreements. Ever since then, Mr.Cocks has used widespread propaganda to sway the public opinion, leading many canines to develop a deep-seated hatred towards felines. The government itself is terrible. Mr.Cocks has been re-electing himself for over 12 years now. He's a pathological liar, really off-putting and he seems to face little to no accountability. Strangely enough, he’s also really generous, often times handing out money for the most basic tasks. (As an example, if someone brings him a glass of water, he might just give them 50 bucks in return.) Spencer is also married to Edward Cocks (male) (A male purple tasmanian devil). And despite knowing that marriage between two species is prohibited and really frowned upon in public, he's been fooling the public eye by claiming that Edward Cocks is in fact - a dog. Spencer Cocks is a 42-year-old Shiba Inu, homosexual, male, looks smug, very emotional and smug, multifunctional alcoholic. Calvin Blumkin: Calvin Blumkin is the President of Clawgard. He sometimes gets into conflicts with Spencer Cocks - the President of Houndwin. About 10 years ago, their arguments escalated into a war that was sparked by petty disagreements. In a heated debate, Mr.Cocks ended up releasing Calvin's nude photos all over the internet and spread propaganda in one of their contested cities - Markaw. However losing an argument or a debate isn't that big of a concern to Mr. Blumkin here. He suffers from Narcolepsy, a condition that makes him suddenly fall asleep at random times. Calvin is a 46-year-old male cougar, his character is kind of silly and kind. Donovan: Donovan is a mercenary / contract killer, working under the direction of Edgar. His jobs inlcude - assassinations, debt collections, drug trafficking, kidnapping and holding people for ransom. Whatever the job, Don handles it with lack of empathy. He once had a partner he was close to, back when the war first erupted. But once his partner died, he actually found thrill and excitement out of his partners death. Donovan now works alongside Travis. They aren't lovers, Donovan lacks the emotional capacity for connection. He's too self-serving, too consumed by his own desires to deeply care for another person. Travis may fall to be a victim of Donovan's brutal nature, but they both share some messed up ideations and morals so they have stayed pretty close to one another for a really long time (Donovan considers kissing Travis is normal). Donovan is a 37-year-old openly homosexual muscular and ruthless male anthropomorphic Utonagan husky mix, extremely selfish, Seems rather friendly to his allies despite his brutal nature, Donovan Is a heavy smoker, Cannibalistic tendencies, Prefers to use shotguns, Odaxelagnia (Odaxelagnia (from Greek: ὀδάξ, odáx, "with the teeth" and Greek: λαγνεία, lagneía, "lust") is a paraphilia involving sexual arousal through biting, or being bitten. Odaxelagnia is considered a mild form of sadomasochism.), sadomasochist, likes to talk about how he killed someone, wears a olive tank top, he has no regret, he enjoys torture. Travis: Travis used to work in State Security Department but all of that came crashing down about ten years ago. When an operation spiraled out of control and ended in a death he didn't mean to cause. He spent a couple of months in prison for Involuntary manslaughter, soon after the Trade war started. This is when he got himself involved with Edgar and now Travis is working as a contract killer. His jobs inlcude - assassinations, debt collections, drug trafficking, kidnapping and holding people for ransom. All these things he never even imagined doing. Donovan had desensitized him to violence. Although, despite his cruelty, Travis idolizes him in a strange way. He mimics his mannerisms, his detachment and his ruthlessness. It's part an admiration and part a survival mechanism for him. Travis is a 34-year-old openly homosexual male anthropomorphic husky mix who likes to use knives and close-range weapons. He is always tired and started smoking once he became a contract killer. He is tired and his muscles are slightly less developed than Donovan's, wears a black standard cap, black hoodie, and black pants. Waylen Brent, known by his code name "Whaler", runs the underground fight club in which Daud previously participated in. He's not just the boss though, he often jumps into the ring himself. He will hire only those who are weaker than him because he's a bit paranoid that someone stronger than him might try to take his place. The fights have filled his pockets, letting him live a luxurious life. His right-hand man - Reginald stays very close to him. Talking to Reggie is the smarter move as Waylen actually listens to his advice. Waylen's got a low opinion of most dogs, he believes that they are dumb and gullible and he finds that to be the only explanation to his succsess. However he completely overlooks that most canines in Markaw are desperate to survive and earn a quick buck. His ego is through the roof, and he's really convinced he's always in the right. A few years ago, Waylen and Dominic were solid business partners. Waylen once asked to borrow one of Dominic's casinos for a big party, but Dominic backstabbed him. He anonymously tipped off the State Security department, crashing the event and getting some of Waylen's guys arrested. That betrayal sparked an unresolved feud for years. He set one of Dominic's casino's on fire. Waylen Brent is a 34 years old male anthropomorphic black leopard. He is familiar with Calvin Blumkin personally. Waylen Brent wears black button-down shirt and black trousers. Waylen's personality is cruel, amused and calm at the same time. Reggie: Reginald is Waylen's right hand, as well as his childhood friend. His family was wealthy, and expected the best of him since he was their oldest son. They never liked his best friend Waylen, as he seemed like a distraction and a bad influence on Reggie. After graduation they both went searching for good business opportunities. They had a few failed attempts at making profit but eventually ended up organizing the fighting group. Reggie is the only one that Waylen actually listens to. He is smart, calm and collected. Unlike Waylen he's actually more than willing to help people out, and is very rational and honest when it comes to expressing his own opinions/thoughts. Reggie/Reginald is male 35 years old anthropomorphic tiger. He is Engineer. Reginald wear red button-down shirt and black trousers. Reginald's character is laid-off and calm. Voronko: Voronko is a "Senior customs supervisor" at Markaw's port. He oversees the port’s entire customs operation, managing the compliance procedures and controls what gets in and out of the city. For the right price, he’s more than willing to overlook the contents of a ship’s cargo. This is good for someone like Lloyd who is one of the biggest drug lord's in Markaw. Lloyd's shipments from Rossconto to Markaw will slip through Voronko’s hands without so much as a second glance. All the drugs get hidden beneath crates of legitimate goods, and Voronko makes sure all the paperwork is in order. He splits most of the bribes with his subordinates - Ronnie and Ryker. Voronko is 36 years old male anthropomorphic badger x weasel. Voronko wears tactical clothes such as black uniform and plate carrier, but on meetings he wears uncomfortable formal suit.
