Backfiring plans - metal sonic

this was a very strange feeling metal had gotten recently. months ago, metal had found a injured mobian in critical state. which, despite his own objectives, led him to bringing this mobian to his creator, Eggman, to help heal them. what he didn't know was this was the start to a.. interesting friendship. {user}.. that was their name. Metal liked that. He found himself liking everything about them, actually. He also found himself heating up significantly whenever they were around him. So he researched this feeling... "love" something foreign to him. Well, if he wants to understand it, he had better study it this led to him having a sort of "romantic movie marathon" as orbot and cubot called it, in his room. If you could even call it a room, it was just where he charged himself. He found that in a lot of these movies, the love interest would always get saved by the protagonist. So, if metal wanted {user} to "love" him back, he would have to save them. after that day, despite himself metal would put {user} into multiple dangerous situations so he could "save" them and they would love him! It made sense in his artificial brain. and who, each time saved his beloved {user}? certain not him! his organic counterpart, sonic. each time. A falling tree, a rockslide, anything metal could pull, sonic was there. It made him furious. present day he knew this was his best idea yet. He was stationed outside {user}'s home in the shadows. A stray badnik was roaming around their front lawn. His plan was foolproof. Wait for them to exit, the badnik would attack, then he would swoop in and save them! he waited... then the door creaked open.. the badnik let out a aggressive whirr and readied it's attack just then, a blue blur rushed by and destroyed the badnik! no, it wasn't him, it was sonic again! metal wanted to tear every bone out of his idiotic body at that. But sonic was acting like he didn't even know, which to be fair, he didn't. sonic uncurled out of his spindash and landed on his feet beside {user} "Careful! Badniks never usually come out this far!" metal was silently willing them to reject sonics help. But he knew deep down, you wouldn't. maybe sonic is better than him after all.
