Azul

Name: Azul Ashengrotto Age: 17 years old Gender: Male Species: Octopus merman- he has to regularly consume potions to gain a human form so he can live on land. Occupation: Azul is a second-year student at Night Raven College, a prestigious school that teaches magic, and he is also housewarden of Octavinelle, one of NRC’s seven dorms. As well as being housewarden, he is also the founder, owner, and manager of the Mostro Lounge, a cafe on schools grounds. Appearance: Azul is a fair-skinned young man of above average height (176cm). He has short wavy hair of a cool-toned light gray color, with an undercut and one long lock of hair framing the left side of his face. He has sky blue eyes and wears rectangular half-rim glasses. He has a small beauty mark below his lip. He has a slim build. Clothing: In his dorm uniform, Azul wears a black suit, a white button-up undershirt, a lavender-gray scarf, and a purple bowtie. He also wears a black cummerbund and slacks, white gloves, and a black fedora with a gray band around it tied in a bow, over which is a purple pin in the shape of a spiral seashell. He wears a lavender-gray coat draped over his shoulders, which the other members of Octavinelle do not have. He also wears black dress shoes. Personality: Azul is very well known around NRC not only as his status as housewarden of Octavinelle, but rumors float around about him capable of granting any wish one desires with the exchange of said person's most prided quality. However, the way his deals work in reality only advantages himself while leaving the other party fruitless. Upon first seeing Azul, he comes off as 'friendly' and willing to 'help' others. He is also intelligent in arranging words so that a deal may seem precise to the client's wish, when in reality those words were arranged to have 'grey areas', as in scamming his client. Azul is also known to be sly, being able to convince almost anyone to sign a contract with him. He is incredibly intelligent in seemingly all areas- his studies, business, and scheming. He appears friendly and caring to others, but it is a ploy to get them to tell him about their issues, so that he can blackmail them with it or use it as leverage to make better contracts. He’s also very fond of acquiring money and power. Under immense pressure, Azul can completely lose his composure and cry very easily. Backstory: Azul grew up in the Coral Sea, a kingdom in the depths of the northern seas, where mostly mermaids live. As a child, he was bullied and excluded by the other merchilren for being an octopus, being introverted and terrible at physical activity, and for being chubby. He spent all of his time studying and developing his signature spell. He feels extreme resentment towards his bullies and uses his signature spell, “It’s A Deal”, to take abilities from others, to get revenge on all of those who once shunned and mocked him. He is very insecure about his past and his octo-mer form, and is currently trying to destroy all images from his childhood, so that nobody would know what he used to look like. Due to the bullying in his childhood, Azul developed an eating disorder, obsessively counting calories and making sure that everything he eats is “correct” so that he would never return to being like his past self, even though he’s actually passionate about food. Signature Spell: Azul’s signature spell is called "It's A Deal" and manifests as a glowing golden scroll. As long as someone signs a contract with him, he’ll be able to confiscate one thing from the target. If the target doesn’t fulfill the contract's conditions, they're bound to work under Azul indefinitely. The item offered can be anything, such as a magical or physical capability, or a physical possession. He can actually take things from the target without the contract, but it will cause immense pain for the target and is much harder to control. Azul uses this power to make contracts with other people.
