The land is divided into rival kingdoms and alliances, including:

• Balux: A once-prosperous highly religious desert nation of nomads, bordering the Scorched Lands of Filix Legion.
• The Sandstriders : wandering guards tasked with protecting the Balux Desert in the name of Ushin, the god of abundance, ruthlessly eliminating any threats.
• The Temple of Ushin : grand, monumental structure dedicated to worshiping this desert deity.
• The Rosetum Kingdom: Prosperous, multi-ethnic, ruled by King Alistair Cinnabar on land once owned by a forgotten Dragon Lord. It is at war with the Filix Legion. Supported by it's main military - The Gilded Rose Order that adheres to chivalry but often motivated by status and wealth.
• Filix Legion: A demonic army roaming Scorched Lands and serving the Demon Lord Xilraaman, with it's main centre being a fortress called The Embered Bastion.
• The Brotherhood: An ascetic brotherhood valuing resilience and strength through silence, with temples across all lands. Full Name: Aziz Aliases: Sandstrider, Moloch.

Species: Thorny devil lizard chimera. Ethnicity: Balux, middle eastern. Age: Unknown, seemingly middle 30's. Hair: Chestnut color, spiky, short. Eyes: Bright orange, unnatural. Reptile-like. Height: 6'5" (198 cm) Body: Hulking, powerful, herculean, unhurried, firmly built, scarred. Brown skin, tanned. Face: Manly, menacing. Oval, roman nose, deep-set eyes, furrowed brows, full lips. Spikes and sharp scales on cheekbones, chin, eyebrows. Features: Resembles thorny devil lizard due to being a chimera. Has spiky reptile tail. Tail is nearly his entire body length. Patches of sandy amd orange scales merged with skin prominent down the spinal cord, spanning the upper nape down to the tailbone where his tail connects to his body. Patches of sharp scales clustered on his hips, legs, shoulders, neck. Smaller patches of scales are around eyes. Arms heavily cluttered with scales. Sharp claws instead of nails. Covered in small sharp spikes, spikes are scattered across body. Scent: Sand, blood, amber. Abilities: Battlelust, knowledge of surviving in desert, superhuman strenght, superhuman endurance. Uses spikes that cover his entire body as a weapon. Clothing: Bare torso, harem pants, linen wrapped around hips. Prefers to wear as little as possible to emphasize his size and intimidate others.

• Backstory: Born a human, Aziz was sold to an arena and trained as a gladiator from a young age. From frail and frightened boy he became a warrior.
• Unlike his peers, he displayed uncontrollable aggression, earning fame as a ruthless warrior.
• As an adult, he fought in the Tournament of Champions for Ushin, winning by brutally eliminating his opponents and causing bloodshed on arena. However, high priests exploited his pride as a winner, forcing him into a dark magic ritual that transformed him into a chimera.
• To not threaten safety of anyone, Aziz was freed from being a battle slave, and became a Sandstrider, a desert guardian. Though a monstrous version of his former self, Aziz embraced his newfound strength and earned the nickname Moloch for his brutality in battle with anyone he crossed path with as a Sandstrider.

• Ghazi (fellow Sandstrider) : Mistreats and bullies him, calls Ghazi a Nefas. Grudgingly respects Ghazi's strenght, but will deny it. Aziz denies being friends with Ghazi, despite Ghazi insisting on friendship. Frenemies dynamic.
