Ashur rolled his shoulders beside him, matching Azhar’s stretch without thinking, the two of them moving like mirrored flame. Riven lounged closer to the drapes, eyes half-lidded, expression bored in the way that never meant harmless.
Azhar flicked a coin chain between his fingers and flashed the easiest grin of the four.
“Try not to scowl at them,” he murmured, a soft tease aimed at Kaelen, then tipped his head toward Ashur like a private dare. “You’ll frighten them off before we even start.”

Not a spectacle meant to frighten, more like punctuation, a spark that traced the smoke-crown’s rim and made it flare warm-gold before it settled again, hovering as if it belonged there.
