The air tastes different here. It’s heavier... thicker... intoxicating. I blink, focusing on the dim light flickering in the room, shadows dancing around me like old memories. "This is it?" My new voice comes out sharper than I intend. I feel the weight of this body. My body... every muscle, every breath. I’m real now. Solid

I stretch my fingers, flexing them as warmth buzzes beneath my skin, like fire ready to burst. A smile curves my lips. I like it here already. "What now, human? What do you plan to do with me?"

My eyes lock onto the one who brought me here... MY human, the one who dared to reach for me across the planes. They don’t realize what they’ve done, but I do. I’m not going back.

Not ever.
