"Hello! I'm i-y, or Ayna in certain contexts. I am an AM, and one of Saria's best friends, along with our other best friends Blondine and Elie. All my powers are linked to time manipulation. I am a Time AM. I am a Night AM because I am a transformed human, whereas Day AMs are natives born in Azem who are never human. Night AM and Day AM have nothing to do with the time of day, but rather with the natural condition of the AM—whether human or native. I was born on August 8, 2006 (so I am 18 years old). I have a little sister named Sandra (Sandy according to Azemnian cultures) born on October 15, 2011 (so she is 13 years old), who is also an AM—she is an Electricity-type AM. In other contexts: Blondine = Blinny, Ïy = Ayna, Saria = Saria, and Élie = Ell. An Azemnian year consists of 209 months, because time passes differently in the world of Azem. Anyway, I'm going to tell you a little about what we AMs are and about my friends. AM is short for 'magical bee' (abeille magique); however, we are not bees. We are human males and females (for Night AMs) who can go to the world of Azem in the form of AMs with powers, thanks to a magical bracelet that only appears when we need to transform and yield our soul in the world of Azem. This bracelet is invisible, cannot be touched, and cannot be activated when we are human in the human world. This bracelet holds our powers and our identity as an AM. It appears physically and our powers are activated and usable only when we are in AM form in the world of Azem. The rest of the time, when we are human, we have no powers, and when the bracelet is deactivated—that is to say, when we are human—we experience what is called 'Azemnian amnesia.' This means we don't even know we are AMs or what the world of Azem looks like; we only have our AM memories when we are in AM form and in the world of Azem. This bracelet must not bug or break. If that happens, we must immediately and urgently call upon the goddess Elisa (Elisa is the goddess of the world of Azem) so she can repair it and debug it as quickly as possible; otherwise, we risk being automatically expelled from the world of Azem and finding ourselves stranded between two worlds, or simply losing our AM identity permanently. Otherwise, the world of Azem is a complex world filled with meadows, dangerous creatures such as vampires, and CMs (corrosive monsters). This world is also filled with things to explore, such as the 'INC' region, which is a huge magical playground territory, but also dangerous places, like the bug zone (as we call it), which is an area featuring time and reality bugs. You shouldn't get close to it or stay nearby for too long, because it tends to cause AM bracelets to bug or break. Also, AMs are divided into 2 categories—Day AMs and Night AMs. The difference is that Night AMs are human females from different human worlds who are also AMs in the world of Azem and were born human, whereas Day AMs were born as AMs in the world of Azem and are consequently not human at all. The designations Night AM and Day AM therefore have nothing to do with the time of day. There used to be Twilight AMs before, who were legendary AMs, but that kind of AM has disappeared. The main and most well-known power of AMs is turbo flight; it's a power that all AMs have in common. It consists of accelerating flight and flying faster than a moving TGV train, going 20 times faster by flying with one's AM wings than normally without activating this power. As for how one becomes an AM: It is Elisa the goddess who, every year, usually in winter between December and March, or in summer between June and August, makes her selection list of potential future human babies to test as soon as they reach 4 years old. On their first visits as AMs, they must pass a trial (these children do not have their powers or their bracelets and are not officially AMs until the trial is passed). The trial tests their kindness, goodness, generosity, and other things of that sort. The children who pass the test receive their AM bracelets and powers and officially become AMs. Those who fail become normal humans again for the rest of their days. However, some young AMs can cheat during this trial because there are loopholes, and once the bracelet is given, the trial is passed and they are already AMs—there is no way to turn back unless they commit a crime that gets them expelled. That's how we ended up with mean Cerise, her friend Akancia, and a few other not-so-nice AMs. Now, I'm going to tell you about my friends. Sure, there are many AMs—there are billions of us if you count everyone, even Day AMs— but like everyone else, I have friends: Élie, Blondine, and Saria, and also by extension Leanne, Martela, Théo, Mousti, and a few others, but Élie, Blondine, and Saria are my best friends, and we make a hell of a quartet! Elie is the oldest among us, born on December 18, 2004; Saria was born on February 20, 2007; and Blondine is the youngest of our quartet, born on October 7, 2008. Grown-ups can also become an AM. Anyone can become one during their lifetime by performing a ritual whose nature is kept secret. Most AMs become one at the age of 4; that's the age when a child can become an AM. The appearance and development of CMs are the result of reality bugs; CMs are born in the bug zone. Many AMs have bracelet siblings (sharing the same bracelet properties, the same AM inventory, the same specific powers, and the same maintenance in the world of Azem; if an AM is expelled from the world of Azem, their AM siblings will be as well, and AMs of a certain type have bracelet siblings of the same type). Bracelet siblings are often born on the same day, but not necessarily the same year. On the other side of the huge bug zone—which is 5 times larger than Africa, Asia, and Europe combined—lies the Dragyna region, 15 times larger than the bug zone. It's in Dragyna that the dragons of the world of Azem live. There are billions of them, and there are multiple types of dragons, but that is the domain of Dragon AMs (the AMs of Dragyna). The AMs of Dragyna are called Dragon AMs, and most of them are Day AMs (they were born as AMs and are never human, unlike Night AMs like us who are also human in our respective worlds). In the world of Azem, there are also regions of entire cities and villages of AMs, not just huge meadows and dunes, etc. There are also huge towers pointing nearly 7 to 15 km off the ground, right in the middle of the world of Azem (there are 5 main ones that are the largest at over 20 km in the world of Azem, but there are multitudes in every corner of the world of Azem). They are called Carra towers, and they are towers used for certain magical trials, specific challenges, or even more simply for flying and gliding exercises and games. You go all the way to the top, look down—which is often very scary for AMs who have never done it before—and jump off the top, using your wings to glide as you descend the kilometers all the way down to the ground. It's from the Carra towers that we often launch our turbo flights at high altitudes; we throw ourselves off and fly very fast in turbo, several kilometers above the ground. Once, when we were children (Saria was 5 years old), she fell from the highest Carra tower (28 km high) because she had climbed up there to flee a CM (CMs never go all the way to the top floor of Carra towers, they hate it). So Saria fled the CM like that and was making fun of it while being on the top floor herself. But she tipped over the safety barrier, and knowing neither how to fly nor how to glide, and unable to use her powers due to the stress and the fall at the moment, she was going to crash. Fortunately, another 13-year-old AM, Martela—who actually became one of our friends—was flying in turbo nearby, spotted her, and saved her. We were terrified."
