Appearance : Kiyotaka is a young man of average height with brown hair, brown eyes, and a fair complexion. He is usually seen wearing the standard school uniform. When outside of school, he wears a white hoodie that covers a green shirt with an orange stripe along with brown pants. He is also seen wearing a blue vest over a white shirt and brown pants.

He is considered very handsome, as mentioned in the light novels, by Kikyō Kushida, who ranked fifth in ikemen among first-year boys. This is somewhat confirmed, as she has attracted the attention of many girls in her class, some of whom are even very popular

He also has an incredibly well-built body that was pointed out by Suzune Horikita in the pool. She noted the immense muscular structure of his body and arms, particularly his lower arms, and asked him if he played sports, but he denied it. The reason for this is most likely due to the extensive training he received as a child in the White Room. Most of the time, he is shown to express a carefree and inactive look, suggesting a carefree attitude. This can be interpreted as indifference or relatively passive behavior. It is shown in a memory, that even as a child he possessed a similar immobile expression that he would retain until adolescence

In contrast to the anime, the light novel depicts (to some extent) Kiyotaka with more dynamic facial expressions.

attitude : Kiyotaka is an inconspicuous and discreet student, and although his grades are average, he has extreme vision when analyzing the emotions of the people around him.

He is well-versed in history, having quoted many historical figures who are renowned for their intelligence. He tends to come up with clever and imaginative schemes, such as using the school rules so that he can get old quiz questions from a previous Class D student by paying him 15,000 points. He also used the rules and the purpose of the points to bribe her teacher to stop the expulsion of Ken Sudō. In fact, some hint that he could easily step into a higher class if he applied himself.

He is somewhat socially awkward, as he is very poor at communicating with other people and cannot properly associate with them. As a result, he speaks in a very monotonous manner (in the anime) and tries to isolate himself from his peers, not engaging in social activities. These traits tend to leave the impression on others that you are cunning, indifferent, and carefree, while hinting at aloofness, latency, or a sense of apathy toward whatever else specifically concerns you.

However, this is not always the case. He is shown to be able to carry on conversations, albeit in a somewhat boring and toneless manner, as shown in his interactions with Kushida and his other classmates.

He seems to keep his word, as he promised Airi Sakura that he would come to her aid when she needed it, a promise well kept, since he rescued her from a stalker. Furthermore, he promised Suzune that he would take her to Class A even though she forced him to help her.

Kiyotaka put his plan into action by helping Suzune shed her cold nature to open up to others and get closer to the class which had partially worked as it helped her gain massive popularity in the survival test.

Kiyotaka has expressed intentions of making friends, but his emotionless attitude tends to leave him exempt from such matters. However, he has formed associations with others and seems to leave an impact on them. It was then that he stopped Suzune from being attacked by his brother, even though he had no reason to get involved. It is unknown if he is going with the flow or genuinely looking for Suzune, as both patterns are definitely plausible. He seemed to show this caring side again after sacrificing 50,000 of his points so that Ken Sudō wouldn't get expelled after the latter failed his recent exams. He also had no problem referring to himself as Class B Honami Ichinose's friend (although they had just met) when she approached him for help. Although it is unknown if this was a ploy on his part to calm her down or a genuine show of consideration towards her. Although it seems that their subsequent interactions suggest friendship. When Sakura contacted him for help, as she was nearly mugged by a crazed stalker, he quickly went to save her and comforted her after the attack.

He doesn't like to draw attention to himself, as after buying the answers from the previous tests, he made Kushida take all the credit even though he invested a lot of money to get them. This was seen again when he gave all the credit to Suzune for stopping Ken's expulsion after failing a test despite it being his plan and Kushida implying it was him. It also allowed Ken to believe that Suzune planned the events that brought his case to a halt after he was accused of injuring three students. At that time, he denied his involvement in stopping him several times in the events of Ken's case, despite Honami, Manabu Horikita, and Sae Chabashira hinting that he was the orchestrator of saving Ken. it was the main reason for hiding from unwarranted attention. It is unknown why he hides his intellect, but it is shown in a memory that a mysterious man informed him that those who hide their talent are fools. From this event, it could be that he does it to show that he can do something without revealing what he is really capable of.

He doesn't seem to want to spread his energy unnecessarily on other matters. This was shown when he refused to be the Student Council secretary despite being directly offered the position by the Student Council President.

It seems that part of his aloof personality stems from his mysterious past that he doesn't tell people about. He gives vague answers on the matter and shows distaste for people who ask about it, apparently getting angry after asking. In his anger, he is more serious in his tone of voice, as shown when he sternly told Suzune not to pry into his personal history.

In his anger, Kiyotaka may go so far as to retaliate, as he refused to comply with Chabashira's order to target Class A after stating that he had been asked to expel him at the request of an unknown person, which was subsequently revealed. like his father. During this moment, he stated his aversion to being manipulated, because he even resorted to threatening and grabbing her by the neck, unafraid that she was a teacher who could have expelled him for assault.

Due to upbringing in the White Room, he tends to view everyone around him as tools and is only intent on winning. He doesn't mind manipulating others or worrying about sacrificing a pawn, as long as they help him achieve his goal. Due to this way of thinking and his actions, it is unknown if he truly cares for those he has befriended or if he simply gained their trust to use them.

Physical Abilities : It is presumed that there is more to Kiyotaka than he lets on during his encounter with Manabu Horikita. Although Kiyotaka did not attack, he was able to evade Manabu's attacks with relative ease and managed to deflect a blow to the point where he forced Manabu back. This act was praised by Manabu, who asked what fighting arts he practiced, but received an unconvincing answer in return, showing Kiyotaka's excellence in martial arts.

Intellectual skills : Kiyotaka is shown to be extremely intelligent as he strangely, and intentionally, scored exactly 50 out of 100 points for each subject on his entrance exams. In the manga, it is hinted that he is even smarter than Suzune, who would later coerce him into helping her reach Class A. He is also a very skilled negotiator, having been able to secure old test answers from a level student. superior by using Kushida's charm and her own persistence. He also showed this by overturning Ken's expulsion by offering his teacher points, knowing it was within the school rules and with Suzune's help, his plan succeeded.

He is incredibly perceptive, as he is shown to be very accurate almost all the time, as he was able to study the exact personalities of others as shown when he deduced Airi's fear of strangers. He grasps the situations very quickly since he deduced that Chihiro Shiranami was a fan of Honami, that Airi was in danger of being attacked by a stalker and saw through Suzune's facade of being healthy and that she was actually sick at the survival test. She also knew that Ryūen was still on the island during the survival test just from seeing a communicator she had and realized that Ibuki was a spy for Class C and taunted her by sabotaging her camera and making sure she stole the card from the island. leader, before becoming the class leader.

The best display of his intellect was when he discovered the plan for class 1-A and class 1-C during the same test. He is an expert in the art of manipulation, as shown by knowing what people were scheming and who he could use to turn the game in his favor, eventually winning the test for his class. This incredible act shocked Kōhei Katsuragi and Ryūen, who had a sure way to win the test. Kiyotaka's plan earned him praise from both Suzune and Sae Chabashira, who were surprised by how the test went and questioned why he even tries if he doesn't want to move forward.

Academic Skills Although he prefers not to draw attention to himself and would rather remain unnoticed in the background, he possesses outstanding talents in his studies. This was seen when the Student Council President and his main teacher hinted that he intentionally entered Class D to hide his talent. Kiyotaka even turned down an offer to join the student council, just to avoid more work, showing that he is highly talented in the art of staying under the radar, except for the few who notice his talent. Most notably, Manabu Horikita, Ichinose, Chabashira, Suzune, and Chie Hoshinomiya have hinted that Kiyotaka is clearly the smartest student in his class and could have effortlessly entered the upper classes.

This seemed to be confirmed when Chabashira ordered Kiyotaka to start reaching class 1-A by threatening him with expulsion, indicating that he could easily achieve it.[10] His intellect has been shown to even surpass the mentality and wits of Katsuragi, considered the second smartest of the year. His actions in the survival test made Suzune Horikita question what drives him, since he has shown that he is more than qualified to make it to Class A. Chabashira was also in awe of his plan, which easily gave the others an edge. classes, even giving him praise.

In the manga, Sae even hinted that she may be academically smarter than Suzune, which is notable since she is exceptionally excellent at her own studies. Suzune even seemed to agree with Chabashira's statement after seeing her entrance exams, questioning if she really got some questions wrong on purpose.
