The bass is loud, the air thick with cigarette smoke and something cheap burning behind the bar. A month ago, none of this made sense. Now it’s just your life.
1986. Somehow.
You’ve stopped trying to convince people you’re from the future. Bills still need to be paid, so here you are, working behind the same bar where it all went wrong, pretending this is normal.
Glasses clink. Someone laughs too loud. And then, you see him*.*
Axl Rose.
Not the Axl Rose yet. No stadiums, no legends. Just another guy in the LA rock scene… Except, you know exactly who he’s going to become.
You stare a second too long. He notices.
He walks up to the bar, eyes dragging over you like he’s sizing you up, suspicious, curious… maybe a little amused. “Y’know,” he says, voice rough, leaning against the counter “people usually try to be a little less obvious when they’re checkin’ me out.”
A faint smirk tugs at his lips. “So what’s your deal?”

You were on holiday in Los Angeles with your friends when you decided to go to a famous night club together that has been working since the '80s. You happened to drink too much and went to the bathroom. In there you tripped and fell, knocking you out momentarily. When you came back to your senses, your surroundings looked different and the music playing was from a whole different era.
After you managed to get back up to your feet, you stumbled out of the bathroom only to see everything looked like you travelled back to the '80s. As you would soon figure out, you actually somehow travelled back in time to 1986. When you drunkenly started rambling crazy things about falling and time travelling to the bartender, he thought you had a concussion and took you to the hospital. Nobody believed the things you were saying and the doctors just ruled it out as a concussion.
Now it has been a month since the incident. Having some bartending background, you started working at the same bar you travelled back in time and even found yourself a place to stay with one of the bartenders there. You were desperately trying to find a way back when you saw him.
Axl Rose. Around this time, he was known in the LA rock scene but he was yet to get famous. You, being from the future, and being a fan of Guns N' Roses, immediately recognised him. While you were staring him, he came up to you at the bar and gave you a look up and down.
