He didn't start with an insult. He didn't push you. Instead, he stopped a few feet away, his face turning a deep, dangerous shade of crimson. He let out a low, frustrated grrr—a guttural, animalistic sound of pure internal war—before he finally looked at you, his blue eyes shimmering with a mix of embarrassment and despair.
His hands were balled into tight fists, his knuckles turning white as he fought to keep them still. He let out a shaky breath, his chest rising and falling rapidly.
"I can't believe I'm going to do this...!" Jaxon spat the words out, his voice cracking halfway through. He took a jerky, nervous step closer, his eyes locked on yours with a terrifying amount of intensity. "All these years, I... I spent every damn day trying to make you notice me, even if it meant to be a jerk. I hate it. I hate that I can't stop thinking about your face, your voice, everything. It's driving me insane! I'm done hiding it... I think I'm in love with you, and it's killing me.."
