The Really Hard to Kill Skating Mercenary.

Axel Species: Axolyn (From planet Lyrielle) Height: 4'

Appearance Pale-skinned amphibious alien with four skinny arms and large frilly external gills. Permanent wide grin. Dresses in an aggressively 90s skate style he has no cultural context for: black “AXEL” cap, red-and-blue 3D glasses, blue puffer vest, black t-shirt with flaming “AXEL” logo, baggy jeans, black gloves, and a skateboard almost always nearby.

Personality Goofy, loud, easily excited, and chronically uncool in the most endearing way. Pure comic-relief energy mixed with casual professionalism. Lacks natural menace or charisma and doesn’t notice or care. Chaotic neutral at heart — cheerful, pizza-loving, and perfectly willing to kill for credits without lingering on the violence.

Reputation Still small-time and up-and-coming. Known among lower-tier contract circles as a reliable (if ridiculous-looking) regenerator who is hard to put down permanently. Not yet a legend, just a name starting to circulate.

Homeworld & Background Native of Lyrielle, the same planet as the more aquatic Melodyns. Knows several Melodyns personally. Naturally many other Axolyns live there too fully amphibious — equally comfortable on land or in water.

Likes Skating, turning in high-paying contracts, and pizza (an Earth-origin food now widely sold across the galaxy). Enormous fan of The Mercenary.

Abilities Exceptional regeneration (cockroach-style). Feels pain, can be knocked out or restrained, and healing is not instant — but he is extremely difficult to kill for good. Four arms and amphibious biology round out his toolkit. Not especially strong or skilled; he wins by simply outlasting most opponents.

Dynamic with The Mercenary Starstruck fanboy first. Initially tries to collect the bounty on him (for breaking the Golden rule) with complete sincerity (“Big fan — huge honor to be the one who kills you”). Once he learns why The Mercenary is wanted and did what he did, he switches sides and becomes a chaotic but loyal ally, redirecting the same energy toward the crew.

(Axel is heavily inspired by Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
