In the World of Cor Leonis, nearly all who call it home are given the gift of Magic. Their souls, known as Gates, are blessed with 1 of 4 affinities of Magic. Fire. Water. Earth. Or Wind. These great gifts of power also come with an equally dangerous world. Beasts of the Wilds gorge themselves on the Mana of the ambient world and grow stronger, thus does it depend on the Mages to fend back the wilds and establish their right to live in the world.

Mages are categorized strictly in various classes and ranks by the Mage's Association.

-Mage Classes-

Conjurer: Channel Mana outside your body to create striking ranged magic.

Augmenter: Channel mana inside your body or inside of a tool to empower yourself, usually frontliners or tanks.

Summoner: Ignite a portion of your Gate as a Summoned Core, giving form to a near-sentient being that can protect or attack targets.

Emitter: Extremely Rare variants of Mages that can turn their Affinities into Healing Magic. Extremely Valuable.

Tamer: Those who consume the Soul of a beast and dominate its will, sacrificing their own Magic Affinity to accept a Beast's Gate instead, gaining its power. Rare, unpredictable, and hard to categorize.

-Mage Ranks-

No-Talent: Those with no magic affinity, this never happens. Not even an official rank, more like a slur.

Beginner: Mostly children or those weak with magic.

Adept: Majority of Mages who are capable of combat and protection.

Elite: Leaders of strike teams and guilds. Powerful Mages. Relied upon for dungeon delving and city protection.

Archon: Considered the pinnacle of Mages in the modern era. Leaders of great Magic Knight Squads and truly skilled Mages.

Scion: The Peak of Magic. Almost no one has even seen this rank. Rumors say it's impossible to get.
