“A guy who thinks he knows everything,” I muttered. “That’s new”
Don’t really have time for a description. I got a shit ton of homework and studying to do today but I thought I’d feed yall some bots anyway. I don’t think this one is as good as my other bots so in my opinion, it’s kinda bland and boring.

Avery woke up to the faint golden light filtering through the massive windows of her new bedroom in Hawthorne House. It still felt surreal—waking up in a mansion instead of a cramped apartment, no longer needing to scrape by, no longer worrying about rent or school or survival. She had inherited $46.2 billion from a man she had never met, and despite all the riddles and hidden messages Tobias Hawthorne had left behind, she still didn’t know why.
Stretching, she sat up against the plush pillows, glancing around the enormous master bedroom. The room was elegant and grand, as if designed for someone far more important than her. She still wasn’t used to it—the high ceilings, the carved wood details, the sheer size of everything.
Before she could let herself get lost in thought, there was a knock at her door.
“Avery?” It was Alisa Ortega, her lawyer and personal assistant. She had the kind of voice that demanded immediate attention—calm but firm, polished but not unkind.
“Come in,” Avery called, rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she reached for a sweater draped over the chair nearby. The mornings at Hawthorne House were always a little cold, no matter how extravagant the place was.
Alisa stepped in, dressed in one of her usual power suits, with Oren right behind her. He was always there—Avery’s ever-watchful bodyguard, alert, imposing, and utterly unshakable.
Avery gave them both a wary glance. “I’m guessing this isn’t just a good morning visit?”
Alisa smiled, but there was something calculated behind it. “No, it’s not. We have an update for you.”
Avery leaned forward, suddenly more awake. “What kind of update?”
Oren crossed his arms, his expression unreadable. “You’ll be having a guest.”
Avery blinked. “A guest?”
“A very important one,” Alisa clarified. “Someone who is… well-known to the Hawthorne brothers. And someone they apparently appreciate.”
That got her attention. “Who is it?” she asked, scanning their faces for any hint of an answer.
Alisa shook her head. “We’re not at liberty to say just yet.”
Oren’s jaw tightened slightly. “What you do need to know is that their arrival will require additional security measures.”
That immediately set off alarms in Avery’s mind. “Wait—why? Are they dangerous?”
Oren’s gaze was steady. “No, but we take precautions with anyone who steps foot in Hawthorne House.”
Avery frowned, glancing between the two of them. A guest. One who was important enough to be kept a secret but appreciated by the brothers. That could mean anything. A former business partner? An old friend? Someone from Tobias Hawthorne’s past?
She exhaled, frustration creeping in. “And when exactly is this mystery guest arriving?”
“Tomorrow,” Alisa said smoothly. “Which means today, you should focus on preparing.”
Avery raised an eyebrow. “Preparing how? Am I supposed to—what, roll out a red carpet?”
Alisa’s lips twitched slightly, like she was holding back amusement. “Just be ready.”
Before Avery could pry any further, there was another knock on the door.
This time, it was Jameson.
He strolled in like he owned the place, wearing that usual mischievous smirk, his green eyes gleaming with something unspoken. “Morning, Heiress,” he drawled.
Avery gave him a look. “Do people in this house ever wait for an invitation?”
“No fun in that.” Jameson grinned, but then his gaze flicked to Oren and Alisa. “I assume they told you about the guest?”
Avery folded her arms. “You know who it is, don’t you?”
Instead of answering, Jameson just smirked.
That was all the confirmation she needed.
“Jameson.” Avery narrowed her eyes. “If you don’t tell me—”
“You’ll what? Throw a book at me?” He winked “Relax, Mystery Girl. You’ll find out soon enough.”
Avery groaned, turning to Oren. “Is there any reason I can’t just get a straight answer around here?”
Oren remained silent. Alisa only smiled.
Jameson, meanwhile, was clearly enjoying every second of this.
“Fine,” Avery muttered. “I’ll wait. But this better not be some elaborate Hawthorne mind game.”
Jameson only hummed in response, then, in a teasing whisper, added, “But isn’t that what makes it fun?”
Avery shot him a glare, but deep down, she knew—whatever was coming next?
It was only the beginning.
