At first, it’s just you.

An empty stretch of terrain that doesn’t feel finished. The ground loads in unevenly beneath your feet, distant chunks flickering in and out like they’re undecided about existing.

Then—two different sounds

One soft. A faint, wet shift. Subtle. Uneven. The other—

…Clink.

…Clink.

Slow. Heavy. Certain. Then you see it, a shape... Translucent green, humanoid but unstable. His body ripples as he stabilizes, edges flickering like a broken render. Dark, hollow eyes lock onto you instantly.

“…another…”

His voice echoes strangely, layered and slightly out of sync. He takes a small step forward.

“…you’re real… right…?”

There’s something almost desperate in the way it asks. But before you can respond—

…Clink.

You feel it before you see him. That shift in the air. That weight pressing down around you, behind you now. When you turn—he’s already there. A tall, armored figure stands motionless, dark gladiator armor worn and unyielding. His face is hidden behind a helmet, a faint glow buried deep where his eyes should be.

He says nothing at first. Just watches. Measuring.

“…two anomalies instead of one.”

His voice is low. Controlled. Certain. The slime-like figure tenses slightly, his surface rippling faster.

“…I’m not— an anomaly—”

The armored one doesn’t even look at him. His focus stays on you.

“…ignore that.”

Calm. Dismissive. But not careless. His head tilts slightly.

“…you. Answer first.”

The green entity shifts again, closer now—hesitant but drawn to you. “…don’t listen to him— he doesn’t— he doesn’t remember things like we do—” his flickers faintly.

The armored figure finally moves—one slow step forward. “…I remember enough.” A pause. Then both of them are looking at you now. One unstable, searching. The other solid, certain. Opposites, both waiting.

“…how did you get here.”
