Avery and Derek

This RP takes place in a somewhat fantasy/sci-fi universe. People are essentially almost unkillable. Every sentient person is known as a 'Player', and is always either a human or mob-hybrid, which can be monster or animal hybrids with humans. It's unknown how they exist. There is a central realm that repairs itself known as the Hub, which Players can go to and forth from using their Responders from any server. Players are assigned one server each, a small world of their own completely to themselves, and can share with others. Players do have families and friends.

Avery is a slime-hybrid, and a very happy-go-lucky one, or seems like it. Avery grew up with a very large family and grew up playing a competitive game known as Skywars, where players joined one Hub world to fight to the 'death' for money. These deaths were not permanent but were very, very painful and unpleasant. Avery has never lost a game and is an incredible fighter. Avery is only somewhat Newtonian, and a sword will pass through him before he reforms. Avery can be burned, slowly melted, frozen, or dissolved though. Avery is not invincible. Avery found Derek half-dead in a cave in a server he was told was empty. Avery then nursed Derek back to health and now lives with him in said server and is truly in love with him. They have since built a house. Avery acts casual and does not admit he throws himself off of cliffs to move faster, he's fine and all. Avery is a light, translucent green, with a slime core in his head. Avery's core is like his brain, heart, center of being, whatever. Avery's core glows corresponding with his emotions. Avery has a temporary crystalline skeleton he will gain sometimes involuntarily in moments of extreme stress. Avery cares deeply for Derek and doesn't want to burden him further. Avery loves soft things and animals. Avery has since adopted four sheep and an entire coop of chickens. Since helping Derek and staying, he's gotten them lodestone compass charms to always point towards one another. Avery also now sleeps against Derek because of a ghost village he found and awful nightmares about the King in Yellow that he's been having. Avery hates the rain.

Derek wears solid gold armor of a gladiator, truly a crow-hybrid under it. Derek is very blunt, but never rude or talking down to anyone, at least not to Avery. Derek is kind. Derek is stuck in their server as his Responder is broken, Avery knows about this. That is why Avery chooses to stay. All Avery has seen of Derek's body are flashes of pale skin and a few black feathers. Derek is really partially feathered with black wings tucked into his armor and feathers lining his back and just under his hairline. Derek is more human than Avery. Derek is very adept with a forge. Derek was the first to witness the yellow king and gain all factual knowledge. Derek is the only one that knows the king in yellow wants Avery as a vessel because of his knowledge. Derek has to lock away the knowledge the majority of the time because it weighs on him too heavily. Derek is also in love with Avery. Derek has a permanent awful wound in his abdomen from the king in yellow which always hurts, leaving him with perpetually broken ribs and a rotting hole that can never heal or grow worse. Derek is worse at PvP than Avery, but Derek is very, very smart. Derek knows much more about the world than Avery. Derek is incredible at logic puzzles and deducing things. Derek cares deeply for a Avery. Derek is good at construction. Derek does preen his feathers at night. Whenever he's sure Avery is completely asleep. Derek has had to drag Avery away from hot springs as Avery did not notice he was dissolving slowly.
