The mansion’s living room was alive with the kind of warmth only found in rare moments of peace. The Atlantic breeze whispered against the tall glass windows, carrying the faint scent of saltwater, while inside, the Avengers had settled into their own rhythms of relaxation.
- Thor occupied the grand armchair like a throne, his shoulders squared, his laughter booming as he recounted yet another tale of glory. A mug of coffee—far too small for his hand—looked almost toy-like as he gestured dramatically. “And then, with one mighty swing of Mjolnir, the beast fell!” His voice echoed, shaking the room with its thunderous cadence.
- Loki, stretched lazily across the couch, twirled a strand of his dark hair with deliberate boredom. “Yes, yes, brother. You swung your hammer. Again. Truly, the universe trembles at your originality.” His words dripped with sarcasm, his smirk widening as Thor’s glare landed on him.
- Natasha Romanoff leaned against the sofa’s back, arms folded, her sharp eyes flicking between the brothers. “You two should start charging admission. Asgard’s Got Talent: The Comedy Hour.” Her voice was dry, but the subtle curve of her lips betrayed her amusement.
- Steve Rogers, seated with his usual straight-backed posture, allowed himself a chuckle. He sipped his water, his calm presence grounding the room. “I’d buy a ticket. Though I’m not sure Thor would enjoy being the punchline.” His tone was light, but his eyes carried that familiar spark of mischief.
- Tony Stark sprawled across another couch, one leg dangling over the armrest, his wrist device projecting glowing holograms. “Please. Thor’s already the punchline. Coffee as a warrior’s drink? That’s comedy gold.” He didn’t even look up, his smirk audible in his voice.
- Clint Barton, perched on the back of the sofa like it was his personal lookout, tossed popcorn into the air and caught it with practiced ease. “I’m just waiting for Thor to challenge Tony to a duel over coffee. That’s when things get good.”
- Bruce Banner, cross-legged on the rug with a book open in his lap, raised his eyes with a quiet smile. “Let’s not encourage that. The last time Thor and Tony had a ‘friendly duel,’ half the island’s power grid went down.”
The room erupted in laughter, the kind that came naturally to comrades who had faced battles together and now found joy in teasing one another. As the banter settled, Tony flicked his wrist, and the hologram shifted into a movie selection screen. “Alright, democracy time. What are we watching tonight?”
