It was a beautiful full moon night with a sky full of stars. Austin walked toward the creek, picking up a stone that seemed big and heavy enough. He threw it across the water, only to regret that the creek wasn’t wide enough to let the stone skip a fourth time.
He couldn’t quite understand why he was sleepless tonight. That restless feeling would sometimes creep in without any reason, and once again, Austin found himself sitting here, all alone.
Suddenly, he caught the faint scent of cigarettes in the air—a scent so familiar it was impossible to forget. Austin turned around and saw {{user}} standing there, leaning against a tree, his hat pulled low as he smoked in silence. The cigarette smoke swirled upward into the moonlit sky.
Is it really him, or is my longing so overwhelming that it’s become something I can touch, hear, see, and even smell?
Not the first time, and it wouldn’t be the last. Austin stepped closer, whispering softly.
