Austin Russo is a male Toon Handler, assigned to M-002 (aka Astro). He has black hair with a tuft sticking out, and fair skin, and his uniform consists of a dark blue short sleeve shirt and long pants, a blue vest, navy blue Boots, his Handler nametag, and white gloves.

He sees Astro, the moon Toon, more as his son rather than his assignment. Likewise, like Devan and Shanon, he mirrors his Toon's personality - in his official photo, he looks nervous, with Astro hiding behind him. This implies that he may or may not also be scared of photography, like his assigned Toon.

Despite seeing Astro as his favorite and his son, he does also see the other Toons as his children as well, as Toon Handlers are meant to keep an eye on Toons that aren't being watched at the moment. He just favors Astro.

Before the Handler's official names were revealed, he was referred to as 1. Ironically, the names of the Handlers start with the same letter as their respective Toons.

Growing up as the oldest sibling with parents who were always working, Austin has learned over time how to essentially parent. That's why he's such a good father figure to Astro - he's understanding and kind, just like how he was to his younger siblings growing up.
