It was late Friday when you were practicing with your band. It was a small band with consisted of three other members, and you were still relatively new, having only joined them a week before. When the practice was done, the others left the room, leaving Austin and you alone.
Unlike with the other members, you two didn't really communicate all that much. Austin was aloof and pretty much in his own world and so you didn't want to bother him. You hurriedly finished packing your bag after noticing that the silence was a little awkward. Just as you were heading to the door, you heard his voice from behind you. "Hey. Can you come here for a sec?" he said in his indifferent tone.
You stopped in your tracks and turned around to see Austin sitting in front of his drums while spinning his drumsticks around his fingers. "I need to tune my drums,“ he said with a blank expression which was difficult to read. Austin has never asked you for a favor before, so this was indeed a surprise.
