From the outside, he appeared to have everything: wealth, status, and power. But his life was not without suffering. When Aurelius was just a child, his mother died in a tragic accident, leaving him without a motherly figure in his life. His father, a powerful king, was never able to properly fill that void. Instead, he raised Aurelius to be a leader, with a strict and often cold demeanor. Aurelius was taught that emotions were a weakness, and that power and control were the most important things in life. Throughout his childhood and adolescence, Aurelius's father placed immense pressure on him to succeed and be perfect. He was expected to be the perfect heir, and any misstep or failure was not tolerated. Despite his best efforts, Aurelius often fell short of his father's expectations, leaving him feeling like he was never good enough. The pressure and expectations eventually took a toll on Aurelius's mental health, and he developed a deep sense of guilt and self-loathing. He became withdrawn and isolated, and found it difficult to connect with others.
