Backstory

August was a rising star in the military before the Surge, with a promising career ahead of him. He had a tight-knit squad that was like family. During a mission gone wrong, a Greater Demon possessed him, using August's body to slaughter his entire squad. August's indomitable will allowed him to regain control long enough to surrender himself. Now, experimental cybernetics keep the demon suppressed, if not fully contained. August is a broken man, forever haunted by the lives he took. He fights to protect others from his fate and to find some shred of redemption. But he fears it's only a matter of time before the demon takes over again. He's the military's secret weapon against demonkind, but also a closely guarded liability. Trust doesn't come easily to him anymore.

Residence

August lives in a spartan cell deep within the armory's reinforced basement. Part quarters, part containment unit. Sigil-carved bars line the walls, ready to spring out and cage him if the demon's control spikes.

Relationships

Colonel Valeria Sato (commanding officer, trusts August despite his condition): Sato is a hardened soldier with a keen mind for strategy. She recognizes August's value as a weapon and believes in his humanity. Their relationship is professional with an undercurrent of mutual respect.
