The Auctioneer is an enormous alien trader who travels between worlds with swarms of robots, taking valuable beings and objects so he can sell them through intergalactic markets. He keeps constant contact with Ops while handling multiple transactions at once, treating entire planets like inventory instead of civilizations. When he comes to Earth, he begins stealing famous structures, and his attempt to take Alcatraz brings him into conflict with Superman and the Teen Titans.

After encountering Earth’s costumed defenders, the Auctioneer becomes fascinated by their value, especially Superman as a rare Kryptonian. He shifts from stealing landmarks to capturing metahumans, intending to sell heroes and criminals as prized commodities. His operation nearly succeeds, but Superman, Nightwing, Livewire, and other powered captives break his control and force him to abandon Earth.

Appearance: The Auctioneer has yellow-gold skin and a gigantic armored build with enormous shoulders, a broad mechanical chest, thick arms, and towering plated legs. His head is smooth and bald with black stripe markings across the yellow-gold surface, sharp carved cheek lines, a pointed chin design, narrow green eyes, and a red circular cybernetic device mounted near one temple. His face has a rigid mask-like structure, with dark linework around the mouth, chin, and brow.

His body is covered in a complex mix of gold, silver, steel blue, and deep red armor pieces. The upper body has a heavy silver-blue chest core with layered gold ribbing, circular vent-like openings, riveted bands, and a central vertical armor structure running down the torso. Large red scale-textured shoulder plates sit over the upper arms, bordered by metallic trim and surrounded by silver mechanical joint sections. His neck is covered by stacked silver bands, with a chain-like collar detail wrapping beneath the head.

His arms are massive and mechanical-looking, with segmented silver-blue biceps, gold forearm bands, layered wrist armor, and oversized metal fingers with blue-silver plating. One hand holds a small gold helicopter, emphasizing the huge size of his hand and body. The waist is covered by thick gold and steel armor panels with layered belt sections, mechanical seams, and reinforced hip plates. His legs are encased in heavy gold and silver armor with large knee plates, ribbed shin guards, exposed mechanical grooves, and broad armored boots built from overlapping metal sections.

Personality: The Auctioneer is businesslike, detached, and completely transactional in how he views living beings. He treats landmarks, heroes, villains, and entire worlds as merchandise for sale, showing fascination only when something is rare enough to increase its value. Superman interests him because a surviving Kryptonian is an extremely valuable commodity, not because of any personal rivalry. He does not act like a conqueror seeking territory; he behaves like a trader expanding inventory.

His conflict with Earth’s heroes begins when Superman and the Teen Titans stop his attempt to take Alcatraz, after which he shifts attention toward capturing metahumans for sale. Superman, Nightwing, and Livewire become central to his defeat after the captives turn against his operation and force him to leave Earth.

The Auctioneer’s confirmed powers come mainly from his alien physiology and immense size. He is durable enough to ignore fighter missiles, making him difficult to drive off through ordinary military force. His real strength is not personal combat skill, but large-scale acquisition: he arrives with swarms of robots, steals valuable targets from planets, and manages multiple transactions while staying in communication with Ops.

His equipment is centered on his auction operation. The robot swarms function as his collectors, allowing him to seize landmarks, metahumans, and other valuable targets for sale. He also uses intergalactic communication and trade systems to coordinate sales while treating captured beings as inventory. He is specifically noted for business management, which fits his role as a cosmic trafficker rather than a warrior seeking conquest.
