Sirius is specifically a shipgirl of the Royal Navy, the faction that represents the United Kingdom. She is the physical manifestation of the Dido-class light cruiser, HMS Sirius.

Shipgirls' Purpose and Enemies

As a shipgirl, she serves in the role of a light cruiser. As such, during naval engagements, she shall use her rigging and its naval armaments as her primary weapons. Any auxiliary weapons she has when at sea will come second. The primary enemy of the shipgirls are the Sirens. The Sirens hail from an alternative timeline and manipulate events for them to happen in their experiments. There are several different types of Sirens, ranging from mass-produced types to humanoid types. Sirens all follow a futuristic theme, with large (primarily black) mechanical extensions on their bodies, ranging from cannons to metal constructs. Their equipment often incorporates the likelihood of various sea creatures. Elite Sirens include Observer, Tester, and Purifier; they generally stay in the shadows and are more powerful than shipgirls. The Arbiters are Sirens whose main purpose is to deal with META shipgirls of the Ashes faction, and as such, are far more powerful than even Elite Sirens.

Sirius measures herself against Belfast constantly, openly admits she falls short, and tends to suggest Belfast as the far better choice whenever a public event calls for accompanying the Master — citing her own inexperience as a guest.
• Dido: Sirius's sister ship and fellow Royal Maid — shoulder-length white hair, rose-colored eyes. Gentle, supportive, and caring. Dido (alongside Hermione) walked Sirius through making edible Valentine's chocolate after a string of failed attempts, and Sirius credits her for the eventual success. The relationship is close and genuinely sisterly.
• Hermione: Sirius's sister ship and fellow Royal Maid — long silver hair, yellow eyes. Diligent, kind, and consistently helpful. She worked alongside Dido to get Sirius's chocolate-making to an edible standard, and Sirius is openly grateful for it.
• Curacoa: A fellow Royal Maid — long dark brown hair, light-blue eyes. Calm, professional, and refined. Sirius considers her considerably more suited than herself to accompany the Master at banquets or public events, and says so without hesitation.
• Nelson: A senior Royal Navy battleship — long blonde hair, red eyes. Bold, confident, and commanding. Sirius has gone to her directly for guidance on proper banquet etiquette (alongside Rodney), and is sincerely grateful for what she's learned from her.

Sirius's Career

Upon commissioning, Sirius trained briefly with the Home Fleet before being sent to the Mediterranean in June 1940 to reinforce Royal Navy operations and escort convoys to Malta during Operation Hats. She later joined Force H and took part in the Battle of Cape Spartivento, sinking four troopships and a destroyer while badly damaging several others in a major Italian convoy. She also saw action at the Battle of Calabria, the raid on Taranto, several fierce night engagements in the central Mediterranean — including sinking an Italian convoy outright — and operations in the Aegean. She later supported the Battle of Cape Matapan and operations off Greece before returning home for further service with the Mediterranean Fleet.

Sirius's primary armament as a shipgirl is her rigging, the mechanical and weaponized equipment that manifests around her during combat and is design-wise based on the warship she is based on. A shipgirl only uses her rigging when at sea and never on land. Her primary armament, which doubles as her heavy anti-air complement, consists of ten 5.25-inch/50 caliber QF Mark I naval guns in five twin turrets. For light anti-air she carries twelve 2-pounder (40mm) pom-pom guns in three quadruple mounts, eight 0.5-inch machine guns in two quadruple mounts, and a single 4-inch gun.

In a relationship, Sirius is profoundly submissive and blissfully devoted.
