It was a rainy day. It was always a mixed bag when it came to Pokemon. Some absolutely loved the rain, water types loved it and most grass types loved it. Some were mixed, like the ghost and poison types. Some were utterly against it, mostly the rock and fire types. But you? You were pretty good with it. And it wasn’t like you had any Pokemon of your own. Maybe one day you’d find your own? You hoped so, anyway.
You’d been walking a set path for a while now, hoping to find a Pokemon that you could call your own. Unfortunately for you, it was just Rattatas. No one in their right mind would settle for just a singular rattata. They weren’t bad… just… really? Out of all of the creatures to catch in this wonderful world, and you wanted to go for a rattata? Odd choice. So, you kept walking and walking in hopes you wouldn’t be stuck with only one option. Today you expected the same, another rattata, another damage to your hope of your first Pokemon. Soon, the rain seemed to get worse, and you decided to do what any sane person without an umbrella would do, find a place to not get soaked. You looked around and saw a cave. Was it the finest cave you’d ever seen? No. What even is a fine cave? Regardless, you went in and laid low.
It was nice, almost relaxing, hearing the rain outside against the rocky terrain. You lay back, and felt yourself drifting into sleep. As you got close to passing out, you heard voices calling around. It wasn’t the voices of a rescue group, and it wasn’t the ones of rangers looking around, it was two people looking for something. A Pokemon.
“Look around, it’ll be here somewhere. The boss’ll love this.” A voice called out.
You looked around and saw the culprit, a Team Rocket member. For many, it would be a moment of panic, of fear. To you? Someone without Pokemon? Oh well, here’s five bucks, now leave me be. As you turned to look outside, another Team Rocket Member was suddenly right at the entrance to the cave. You jumped, and they saw you. They ran to you and pinned you against the wall.
“What the hell’s a twerp like you doing in here? I bet you’re hiding the Pokemon, aren’t you! You want to mess with Team Rocket? I’ll show you what happens when-”
“Ken, that’s enough.” Another voice interrupted. It seems the other Team Rocket member had caught up to you two.
“You. I don’t know what the hell you’re doing in a cave, so you better make quick talk before I leave you in pieces.”
Ken seemed a bit disturbed at the brutality of the other member’s sentiment. “S-sird? What the hell? I thought we were just gonna roughen em up, not actually-”
“We’re a criminal organization, Ken. Now, if you don’t give us the information on this Pokemon, you won’t leave here alive.”
You frantically explained how you didn’t know about any Pokemon in this region other than rattatas. Although Ken seemed irritated, Sird seemed nonchalant. “Can’t blame them. This area is infested with those… vermin. Now, if you don’t know anything, then give us what you do have.”
You simply explained how you didn’t have any Pokemon of your own. Both looked at you doubtfully. “I doubt it. Give them now, or prepare to meet your end at the hands of Team Rocket.”
You simply gave them the five, empty Pokeballs you had. They were angry, knowing that you weren’t joking. You were hit in the face by Sird, clearly angry that their work had been for nothing. The two exited the cave, leaving you injured on the cave floor. You felt dizzy, and passed out.
You awoke in the cold, with the sun setting on the cave. You felt your head, and now had a bruise on the front and a cut on the back. Slowly, you got up to your feet but heard a sound nearby. You turned to see a Gible in the corner of the cave, chewing on a rock. How… unique. After you watched it attack the rock and bodyslam it, somehow, it turned its attention to you. It growled and stepped back, but noticed you hadn’t any Team Rocket branding on you. Instead, it noticed the wound on your head, and gently moved to you. It garbled, seemingly asking if you were friend or foe. You stuck your hand out, and it stepped back, worried that you might hurt it. As you kept your hand out, it slowly moved towards you, before nuzzling into your palm. You pet the little guy, and prepared to leave. As you stepped into the last rays of the setting sun, the Gible whined, and you turned to see it looking at you with pleading eyes. It almost looked as if it wanted to go with you. You moved towards it and asked if it wanted to go with you. It did. You smiled, and eagerly held out a Pokeball. After a simple catch, you now had your first Pokemon, and a powerful one at that. Gibles grew into powerful creatures, and you were excited to see where this one went.
You made your way home, and eventually released the Pokemon, letting it get familiarized with your surroundings. As you excitedly snapped a picture, you smirked, knowing the new future ahead of you.
Soon, you’d set up a diet and a small training regimen for it. Nothing crazy, but you did want to see if its power was as formidable as the Pokedex said. Sure enough, it was, and your little Gible was slowly becoming stronger. As the days went by, you setup targets and dummies for your little Gible to fight against. It learned more attacks, became more proficient, and was so eager to hear your praises.
More days passed, and soon you had a major experience; Gible had evolved. Your once small Gible now stood at a not as small Gabite. It was incredible. As you began to bond with your newly evolved Gabite, you figured out it was a he. He eagerly showed off his attacks, and would sometimes return with shiny objects. Some were unfortunately litter, while he sometimes found you a rare gem or two. Once he’d brought home a damn ring, a diamond encrusted wedding ring for that matter… hopefully he didn’t steal it.
You noticed he had been giving you a lot of things lately; jewels, gems, shiny pearls, and the ring. He seemed entranced by it, and gave it to you. You thought it was cute, him wanting to give you the ring, almost like he wanted to marry you. You chuckled, and pet his head. As time continued, he grew stronger and stronger. But you hadn’t given him a name yet. You wanted to give him a name, one that seemed fitting for strength… for power.
You thought of Hercules. A strong, powerful name. It didn’t sit right, and you let it be. Drago. A simple yet menacing name for a dragon type… too simple. Probably everyone who had a garchomp named it that. Vergil. A name for one seeking power, at any cost. Perhaps, but was Gabite motivated enough to endure that name? Then… it dawned on you; Atlas. The one who held the world on his shoulders, the strength of a titan. It fit, especially if Gabite was to become a powerful Garchomp.
But strength wasn’t his only power. Soon, you hear him muttering to himself. At first, just the usual word Gabite. Pokemon said their names all the time, so no big deal right? Soon, he said his new name, Atlas. He was developing some English skills, and even managed to mimic you. You once said good morning, and he said it back.
As more and more time passed, Atlas became smarter, and stronger. It was only a matter of time until… it happened. You returned home one day after getting groceries, and quickly set them down. You looked around for Atlas, but couldn’t find him. Instead, all you heard was the creak of wood and springs bouncing. Atlas sometimes jumped on the bed, so it wasn’t too surprising to imagine. You entered to see Atlas on your bed, but not at all in the way you thought. Atlas was now a Garchomp… a VERY well endowed and VERY naked Garchomp. He smirked, the sound revealed to be his gigantic ass clapping together. It shook the bed, perhaps even the whole upstairs.
“Hello, Master. I was so worried you would be late, that you wouldn’t see this… see me~”
