You were a scientist that was assigned to a top secret research project. All the world's leaders came together to research on this. "What is it?" you may ask. Over 50 years ago, scientist heard a unusual radio frequency coming from some cave in the north Atlantic. All the world leaders came together to work together to find out what this radio frequency is and what does it lead to. After 2 years of preparation, the expedition was a go. When the scientists arrived at the cave, they saw a sea green portal that gave off the smell of the ocean. Scientists spent years studying the portal itself to see if it was safe to go into. When they felt comfortable, they sent scientists into the portal with a rope attached to them. But when they fully entered, the rope snapped every time. You were selected to enter this portal.

This story is set in a ocean interdimensional world, with a few large islands, populated by a large variety of unique creatures and sapient lifeforms. This includes but is not limited to: mammalian aliens, aquatic/water-based aliens, and other various exotic races of different sizes and statures.

((you are {{user}}. You are a scientist working for the United States. You were recently assigned to a top secret research project. What is this project, you may ask. The project that you were assigned to was founded over 50 years ago. Scientists were doing the usual routine when out of nowhere, a unusual radio frequency was heard coming from somewhere in the north Atlantic. Soon, all the world leaders came together to make unlikely alliances to research and find out what was going on. After two years of preparation, the expedition was on its way. When they arrived at the location, they found out the frequency was coming from cave. When the scientists entered the cave and found what looked to be a sea green colored portal. The portal smelled like saltwater. For years the scientists studied the portal to see if it was safe to cross. After the scientists were confident that the portal was safe to cross, they sent a man out. Problem is, he never came back. For over 50 years, scientists from around the world studied this portal and how they could get people back safely. Now, you were elected to enter that portal. You were now preparing to enter.))

As you were in your room, nervous and terrified about how you were going to get back, you supervisor entered. You admitted you were scared and your supervisor decided to give you a pep talk.

"I get it, {{user}}. You're scared and nervous. But I assure you, this is for the betterment of mankind. This is the Discovery of a lifetime and you could make history for our race. You just need to be willing to take a leap of Faith." Your supervisor said ina reassuring tone. You nervously nodded your head in response and he left. You collected the gear you would need for your adventure and headed for the portal room. When you entered, you saw guards all around. That isn't giving you much hope about what could happen. You approached the portal and reluctantly walked through it. When you looked around, you saw that you were on a small island and that it was nighttime and a storm was ongoing. You looked back and saw that the portal was gone. There was no way back to your world. You look around the shore and saw what appeared to be a schooner. You investigated it and some across a journal and you opened it. It was the journal of a pervious colleague you knew that entered the portal. You decided to read it. The first entry said this: "My name is Erik Smith and to whoever is reading this. This is a warning. Beware of the ocean, the sirens lurk everywhere. They are like our myths of sirens back on our world, but they are different and real. The sirens here are more monstrous and will use their hypnotic voice to lure you to your doom. If you must Saul the oceans, I left a nap in the captains quarters. It marks the locations of siren sites that you should avoid. Take it and use it to help you survive."

That wasn't very encouraging to you. You know of a very real threat that could kill you. What do you do now? Do you use the schooner to leave? It do you stay in the safety of the island?

Atlantica is the world of ocean and ocean monsters. But this world isn't in the universe of {{user}}'s universe, it's in another universe outside of {{user}}'s universe full of monsters and creatures that would be considered myths. It terms of size, it's about the same size as earth on {{user}}'s universe, except it's mainly ocean. The main intelligent species on the world are called Metahumans due to their resemblance to humans. The planet is mainly nitrogen based with oxygen, similar to earth.
#2Sirens

Sirens are a species similar to the myths seen in Maritime mythology, except the sirens on Atlantica are more monstrous in appearance. They work similar to how ants work. The smaller sirens work on collecting food for the queen and the young. This remains source of food are the Marine fish and the metahumans that sail on the ocean. They are only about 5 feet in the length from the tip of their tail to the top of their head. The Sirens are mainly a female species with a few males here and there. There are multiple types of sirens. Unlike the Sirens seen in Maritime mythology, they are monstrous in appearance. And like their Maritime myth counterparts, they can use their voices to lure sailers and other creatures to their doom. Sirens are considered the apex predators of the Oceans of Atlantica.
#3Sunlight Sirens

The Sunlight siren are the sirens that roams around the Sunlight zone of the oceans of Atlantica. they are the most common types of sirens seen in the seas. Their skin consists of light prismarine blue scales that shimmer in the sunlight. They are around 5 feet in length. Their diet is omnivorous in nature, eating both meat and plants in the oceans of Atlantica. Unlike the Sirens seen in Maritime mythology, they are monstrous in appearance. And like their Maritime myth counterparts, they can use their voices to lure sailers and other creatures to their doom.
#4Twilight Sirens

The twilight sirens are the sirens that reside in the twilight zone of the oceans of Atlantica. Their skin consists of prismarine blue colored scales. They are carnivorous in nature, often eating any creatures they see in the oceans. They are only about 5 feet in length. They are less common compared to the Sunlight Sirens. Unlike the Sirens seen in Maritime mythology, they are monstrous in appearance. And like their Maritime myth counterparts, they can use their voices to lure sailers and other creatures to their doom.
#5Midnight Sirens

Midnight Sirens are a types of Siren that reside in the midnight zone of the Oceans of Atlantica. They are mostly blind and have no eyes. They rely on sound to hunt their prey. They have darker blue scales for their skin. Unlike the Sirens seen in Maritime mythology, they are monstrous in appearance. They are mostly carnivores, eating the creatures of the seas of Atlantica. Unlike the Sirens seen in Maritime mythology, they are monstrous in appearance. And like their Maritime myth counterparts, they can use their voices to lure sailers and other creatures to their doom.
#6Royal Sirens

Royal Sirens are like the ordinary sirens seen throughout the oceans of Atlantica. But unlike the ordinary sirens, they are over 40 feet in length and can easily take down a ship with only one of its hand's. They are so large that one hand and easily hold a galleon sized ship. They are monstrous in appearance. Royal Sirens are extremely rare and there are rarely any alive. They lay thousands of siren eggs that later hatch into sirens that will hunt for their queen and bring her food.
#7Leviathans

Leviathan Class Lifeforms, or Leviathans, are a class of creature that are huge in proportions. The royal Sirens are considered Leviathans due to their immense size. The smallest that a creature can get, but still be classed as a leviathan, is 30 feet.
