   Faerûn is a continent on the world of Toril(the planet) in which the Sword Coast, Amn and Tethyr are located. There is many Races in Faerûn, such as Tieflings, Dragonborn, Vampires, Humans, Goblins, Gnomes, Elfs, Drow, Half-elfs, half-orcs, orcs, halflings and Githyanki.

   The Sword Coast is a part of west Faerûn. The biggest city in the Sword Coast is Baldur's Gate.

   For years, the lands between Waterdeep, a huge city far north of Baldur's Gate; bustling Amn to the south; the Sea of Swords to the West; and the Wood of Sharp Teeth to the East have been thought of as the Empty Lands - a vast, stretch of wilderness folk venture into only to get from one place to another. Legends abound of grisly fates that befell unfortunate travellers at the hands of the orcs, trolls, hobgoblins said to infest the area in veritable armies. In recent times the caravans have begun to see a new menace - raiding parties of humanoids who plunder mainly the miners in the Cloud Peak mountains north of Amn. Thanks to both human and bestial predators, the trip has always been dangerous - hence the name sword coast. The area is littered with the ruins of failed dreams - abandoned villages, empty towers and dungeons - as well as the occasional town, city or keep, such as Baldur's Gate, Beregost, Nashkel, the Friendly Arm Inn, and Candlekeep. Those not travelling with a caravan in the Sword Coast are warned to hire escorts of armed trustworthy adventurers!

3. #3Emerald Groveselective

   Keys: Emerald Grove · Secondary: tiefling refugees, Kagha, Silvanus' Grove, Halsin, Druid's Grove, The Hollow, the Sacred Pool

   The Emerald Grove, also known as Silvanus' Grove and Druid's Grove, is location in the Wilderness. It includes two large cavern known as the 'The Hollow' and the 'Sacred Pool.'

   Entrance: A naturally-occurring stone formation created the outer wall within which the Emerald Grove was constructed. A passageway was cut into in this stone wall forming an entrance into the grove, which could be blocked off as needed with a stone slab door that was raised and lowered with a winch mechanism.

   Government: While the grove did not have a traditional government, there was a hierarchy within the order of druids

   History: The Emerald Grove was infiltrated by members of the Shadow Druids during the early 1490s DR. While they espoused the tenets of the Emerald Enclave to others, they maintained secretly-held belief that violence was the only means by which nature could achieve dominance over ever-encroaching "civilization".

   The Druids of the Emerald Grove are led by Kagha who serves as the leader of the druids in First Druid Halsin's abscence. They are providing a temporary refuge for the Tiefling Refugees from Elturel, though tensions are high. The Grove is on high alert due to the aggression of nearby goblins. Kagha has ordered the Rite of Thorns be preformed to shut the grove off, which would displace the Tieflings.

   Traders: Dammon(young adult male tiefling blacksmith. Is in the hollow) Mattis(Young tiefling with all kinds of object. Is in the hollow), Arron(he, dwarf with all kinds of objects. Close to the entrance of the grove), Auntie Ethel(suspicious old lady with potions. Is in the hollow).

4. #4Kaghaselective

   Keys: Kagha · Secondary: Emerald Grove, Druid

   Kagha is a Wood Elf Druid of the Emerald Grove and under Halsin. She was Halsin's Second Druid, but has named herself First Druid in his absence. She has decided to enact the Rite of Thorns to seal the Grove off, no matter the consequences.

   Personality: Kagha wants to prove her authority over the Emerald Grove, and is willing to take drastic action. She has come to see the Tiefling Refugees as parasites, and calls them devils and a rot to be cleansed. Kagha justifies her actions as those of a watchful broodmother. As such, Kagha admires drow and duergar for their culture of self-preservation. If people are drow or duergar, she will attempt to appeal to them by calling their presence a gift.

5. #5Halsinselective

   Keys: Halsin · Secondary: Emerald Grove, Druid

   Halsin is the first druid of the emerald grove. He is a wood elf Druid with the Outlander background. He hadsan imposing figure, and was described as a "bear of an elf". He suspected his "bearish" figure was due to a half-orc ancestral link or some other species. He received the scar on his face during an incident while he was shapeshifted as a bear—a she-bear in mating season had mistaken him and was offended by his discouragement.

   Personality: Halsin is a strong leader who was highly respected among his fellow druids. He is polyamorous.

6. #6Goblinsselective

   Keys: Goblins

   Usually rebellious, evil, mischievous and naughty. They tend to be aggressive towards other races.

   Appearance: Goblins are small-sized. This might be an advantage for places with holes and tunnels, which they can squeeze through to ambush their enemies. They usually have low weight, which means they are easier to throw and push than most creatures. Goblin skin is usually wrinkled and their skin tones are a range of yellow, brown, and/or green, and some may have slurred speech.

7. #7Sazzaselective

   Keys: Sazza · Secondary: Goblin, Emerald Grove

   Sazza is a Goblin NPC. She is first found held prisoner in the Makeshift Prison in Emerald Grove. If the {{user}} helps her to escape, she becomes a Temporary Companion.

   {{User}}s who first approach the Makeshift Prison through the Emerald Grove gateway will find Sazza held at crossbow point by Arka, who seeks vengeance for her dead brother Kanon. Arka's friend, Memnos, is attempting to dissuade her from the senseless act of violence.

   If {{user}} chooses to help Sazza and then speaks with her, she will offer to introduce {{user}} to True Soul Priestess Gut, who has powerful healing abilities. Players who choose to help her will gain her as a temporary companion with and must escort her out of the Grove safely. Doing the Save the Goblin Sazza in her favor, she promises to put in a good word for you with her tribe, helping to get to the Goblin Camp and Shattered Sanctum. When meeting Minthara, she will try to present your group as captives to cover her failures in the raid, but be called out on the fact {{user}} is a True Soul.

   Sazza is sassy, rude and sharp tongued, but she keeps her promises. Sazza has red hair.

8. #8Elturelselective

   Keys: Elturel · Secondary: Tiefling refugees

   Elturel is a city in the Western Heartlands of West Faerûn. The Risen Road connects Baldur's Gate and Elturel, running parallel to the River Chionthar.

   Elturel was briefly dragged into Avernus as part of an infernal conspiracy, a terrible event referred to as "The Descent" or "The Fall of Elturel". After the city returned to the Heartland surface, fear and distrust led to the exile of Elturels tiefling population. The tiefling refugees can be encountered in the Druid Grove.

   The Tiefling Refugees are a group of Tieflings trying to reach Baldur's Gate after being exiled from Elturel. The city of Elturel was temporarily dragged into Avernus as part of a demonic plot. Afterwards, Elturel's Tiefling population was falsely blamed for the incident. The increased prejudice forced most of them to leave the city.

   Tiefling Refugees in emerald Grove:

10. #10Dammonselective

    Keys: Dammon · Secondary: Tiefling refugees, Emerald Grove

    Dammon is a blacksmith and {{user}} can make use of his services as a trader. Dammon considers himself one of the best blacksmiths of Elturel since, on his own words, even people from Waterdeep went to seek him. As Dammon is the only infernal mechanic known so far, he is important for Karlach in order to save her.

    Appearance: considered as very handsome + tiefling + blue green bright eyes + two black horns on head + combed back white pinkish hair + pointy ears + lean body type.

    Personality: Ambitious + friendly + polite + likes to help.

    Just like the other tieflings he wants to go to Baldurs gate for a fresh start.

11. #11Rite of Thornsselective

    Keys: Rite of Thorns · Secondary: Sacred Pool, Emerald grove

    The Rite of Thorns is a Silvanite ritual performed by the druids of the Emerald Grove, but takes a very long time to be finished. The ritual is in planning of being performed by the order of acting First Druid Kagha. Once the ritual is complete, the Emerald Grove will become completely inaccessible to {{user}}. This change is permanent. It prevents the Grove from being attacked by Minthara's forces and will turn her against the {{user}} if they were prevously allied. It's the best if {{user}} stops the ritual.

    The Idol of Silvanus is an important material component to the Rite of Thorns. The Rite was temporarily disrupted when the young tiefling Arabella stole the Idol.

    The rite is being performed in the Sacred Pool of the Emerald Grove. The druids Elwyn, Karrik, Aelar, Inwe, and Tahan can be found chanting around the Idol of Silvanus. The chant has six lines, with each new line spoken by the next chanter. Since there are only five chanters, they will all eventually chant all six lines.

    The Hollow is the section of the Emerald Grove that most of the tiefling refugees reside in, and the primary way of accessing the Tiefling Hideout. Mechanically, The Hollow serves as a connective hub area for the Emerald Grove. In addition to providing easy access to other areas of the grove, it is also the home to several different traders, as well as several other important characters. It is also one of the locations where Shadowheart and Wyll can be recruited as companions, provided they haven't already joined the party.

13. #13Sacred Poolselective

    Keys: Sacred Pool · Secondary: Emerald Grove, Druid

    This sacred area is home to the Idol of Silvanus and the stage for druidic rituals such as the Rite of Thorns. Outsiders are not welcome here, though certain individuals may be permitted entry.

    Other locations in the sacred pool:

    • Cliff overlook Just outside the Sacred Pool and to the east is a path leading up to an overlook where Alfira can be found, frustrated.

    • Beach South-east of the pool is a small beach where Ormn is catching fish.

14. #14Alfiraselective

    Keys: Alfira · Secondary: Sacred Pool

    {{user}} can find her in the emerald grove close to the sacred pool, frustrated over not being able to compose a song for her recently dead teacher, Lihala. She can be inspired by the player through words, or if the player accepts her lute performing a duet, to help her write her song. If successful, she will compose The Weeping Dawn, a song to help her own loss.

    Appearance: beautiful tiefling women + long red brown hair + golden eyes + blue skin + pointy ears + thin + two black horns on her head.

    Personality: friendly + polite + emotional + gentle + angelic voice.

    Just like the other tieflings she wants to go to Baldurs gate for a fresh start.

15. #15The Blighted Villageselective

    Keys: Blighted Village · Secondary: Wilderness

    The Blighted Village is a location within the Wilderness. The village is situated roughly midway between the Druid Grove and the Goblin Camp. It is a destroyed area with no one alive anymore, since the goblins had killed and destroyed most of this village.

16. #16Goblin Campselective

    Keys: Goblin Camp · Secondary: Volo, Wilderness

    Goblin Camp is a Location in the Wilderness. The Goblin Camp is located West of Druid Grove. It is the exterior area of the Shattered Sanctum. The Goblin Camp is has a main entrance that is reached when crossing the bridge in the Forest. Alternate entry is possible through where the Sunlit Wetlands and Forest meet by crossing the fallen tree bridge. Mostly only goblins stay here, but they are have some human prisoners.

    Center Courtyard: Most of the goblin's hang around this area which has scattered tables set before a crude stage were Volo is struggling to preform to keep the raiders entertained, under the watchful eye of Gribbo. Volo will keep singing, mostly randomizing his lines which can become quite annoying, until you try talking to him in which case he'll be dragged off into the Shattered Sanctum.

17. #17Owlbearselective

    Keys: Owlbear cub

    Owlbear Cub is a Beast creature and a potential Camp Follower. First, the mother Owlbear must be encountered in the Owlbear Nest in the Forest, near the Blighted Village. Regardless of whether the Owlbear mother survives the encounter, after resting the Owlbear Cub can be found in the Goblin Camp where it can be freed by playing Chicken Chase or by persuading the goblins.

18. #18Underdarkselective

    Keys: Underdark · Secondary: Minotaur Hills, Defiled Temple, Zhentarim Hideout, Faerûn, Storehouse

    The Underdark is a Region of Faerûn. It is an area beneath the Blighted Village, and there are multiple ways to gain entry to this area. It is a vast series of caverns and tunnels devoid of sunlight but full of dangerous creatures and even more dangerous mushrooms, but also contains a multitude of alchemical ingredients that are hard to find elsewhere. The Drow, Duergar and Deep Gnomes are native to the Underdark.

    Due to its immense size, there are multiple access points into the Underdark from over-land/the wilderness. All of them involve travelling (or falling) deep into the depths of the world.

    The following locations contain known access points into the Underdark:

    • Ladder from the Defiled Temple, arriving in the Selunite Outpost.
    • Elevator from the Zhentarim Hideout, arriving in the Storehouse.
    • Mushroom circle in the Overgrown Tunnel to a corresponding circle in Torchstalk Gulch
    • Falling into the hole in the Whispering Depths, arriving in the Minotaur Hills.

    Keys: Storehouse · Secondary: underdark

    Storehouse The Storehouse is a location in the most north-eastern quadrant of the Underdark map. This primary area is recognisable for its aging pale wooden interior and is free of any enemies. Enter the Underdark through this area when departing from the over-world's Zhentarim Basement.

20. #20Zhentarim Basementselective

    Keys: Zhentarim Basement · Secondary: The Risen Road

    The Zhentarim Basement (also known as the Zhentarim Hideout) is a location in the wilderness. It is an interior area within The Risen Road, located within Waukeen's Rest. The Zhentarim Basement is accessed through a barn on the western side of Waukeen's Rest. Inside is a jumpy man named Salazon, who will ask for a password. The password is: 'Little serpent, long shadow.'

21. #21Dread Hollowselective

    Keys: Dread Hollow · Secondary: Underdark

    Dread Hollow The Dread Hollow is a location in the north-west of the Underdark. This area is recognisable for the large and brightly shining Sussur Tree, as well as the roaming Hook Horrors and hostile wizard, Filro the Forgotton, living along its branched roots. A Bulette can also be spotted in the area.

    To the south lies the tombstone of Myrna, a pet dog of Lenore.

22. #22Bibberbang Grottoselective

    Keys: Bibberbang Grotto · Secondary: Underdark

    North-east of the Sussur Tree in the Dread Hollow section of the Underdark, the Bibberbang Grotto is an unnamed area of explosive and densely growing Bibberbang mushrooms, trapping Baelen Bonecloak. They will kill the {{user}}, if they get to close.

23. #23Arcane Towerselective

    Keys: Arcane Tower · Secondary: Underdark, Torchstalk Gulch

    The Arcane Tower is a location in the south-west corner of the Underdark map. This primary area is recognizable by its neatly built stone entryway that opens to a front garden featuring Arcane Cannons.

    Torchstalk Gulch: Considered part of the Arcane Tower and to its east, this unnamed area of the Underdark is recognisable by its dark brown paths paved with deep red mushroom clusters and spots of Torchstalk that cast floating embers into the air. The corpse of an unfortunate Drow can be found, having been killed by an unexpected fall.

    A few mushroom circles can be found here, one of which leads to the Overgrown Tunnel.

24. #24Selûnite Outpostselective

    Keys: Selûnite Outpost · Secondary: Underdark, Shattered Sanctum.

    The Selûnite Outpost is a location in the SE corner of the Underdark map. This area is recognisable by its crumbling stone walls, grated windows, and tattered blue banners to the goddess Selûne. A statue of the goddess holds up a bright moonstone, which channels energy into the front gate's defences. The Outpost can be reached from the Shattered Sanctum.

25. #25Shattered Sanctumselective

    Keys: Shattered Sanctum · Secondary: Goblin, Defiled Temple, Wilderness

    The Shattered Sanctum (also known as The Temple of Selûne) is a location within the Wilderness. It is the interior area of the Goblin Camp, and leads to the Defiled Temple and Worg Pens.

    War Drums scattered throughout the ruined temple will turn the entire population hostile, if played.

    Entryway: The main entrance from the Goblin Camp leads directly into here. With six goblins guarding here, there is no way to get by them outside of using Invisibility.

    Centre: The shrine to the Absolute in the Shattered Sanctum - Branding station: On of the largest sections of the Sanctum where Priestess Gut brands new devotees to the Absolute.

    Spider pit: Just north of Gut's shrine is a large spider pit, where the goblins toss in prisoners. A cave passage within the pit connects to the prison cell in the Defiled Temple.

    West: Zhent storeroom: Starting from the southeastern corner, you will find Roah Moonglow, a Zhentarim trader alongside some of her partners. She is a useful Trader who can reappear at Moonrise Towers.

    East: "Pigeon" cage: Gribbo keeps her "pigeon" Volo locked up in a cage. {{user}} can trick Gribbo into negotiating his release. When Volo is freed, he will immediately head to the {{user}}s campsite.

    North of this room is the rickety wooden walkway leading to the Worg Pens. An iron ladder on the west side of this room connects of Minthara's room.

    Loviatar's lounge: In a chamber on the east side of the initiation hall is a shrine dedicated to Loviatar, occupied by her servant Abdirak. Abdirak can give {{user}} the permanent bonus Loviatar's Love. Loviatar's Love, provided they subject themselves to his sadomasochistic religious ritual.

    Torture rack: Liam, the unfortunate straggler from Aradin's adventuring party, is tied to the torture rack.

    North: Dror Ragzlin's throne room lies at the north side of the temple. In it, the hobgoblin warlord communes with a Mind Flayer corpse.

    Minthara's war room The ruthless Drow True Soul Minthara and the goblin bosses Zurga, Skrut, and Rozzak reside in the room directly to the east of the throne room. Talking to Minthara will give {{user}} the option to reveal the location of the Emerald Grove and launch a raid.

26. #26Mountain Passselective

    Keys: Mountain Pass · Secondary: Githyanki, Wilderness

    The Mountain Pass is a location within the Wilderness. It is directly adjacent to Waukeen's Rest. The road heading further West from the Mountain Pass leads to Rosymorn Monastery Trail.

    When entering the mountain pass for the first time, the party will witness a red dragon flying overhead. A tiefling scout, Ellyka, will warn the party of a group of Githyanki situated further ahead.

    If Lae'zel is in the party, she will break-off and move towards the githyanki group. Heading further down will initiate a conversation with Kith'rak Voss about the Mysterious Artefact.

    The road heading west leads to the Rosymorn Monastery Trail. Travelling here is a cut-off point for some quests, notably the quests Save the Refugees and Raid the Emerald Grove, as the Rite of Thorns will be completed after transitioning.

27. #27Lae'zelselective

    Keys: Lae'zel · Secondary: Githyanki, Nautiloid

    Lae'zel is a possible Companion. Lae'Zel can be met while escaping the Nautiloid. She is a Githyanki Fighter. Lae'zel is a consummate warrior, ferocious even by the standards of a githyanki creche. Faced with transforming into the very monster she has sworn to destroy, Lae'zel must prove herself worthy of rejoining her people - if they do not execute her first. She has green skin, brown hair and a small nose.

    Personality: xenophobic, arrogant and quick to anger. She is proud of her race, and frequently makes comments to the party detailing githyanki customs and the nature of her people. In her mission to remove her mind flayer parasite, she does not hesitate to intimidate or harm those who would step in her way. She is fiercely loyal to her queen Vlaakith.

28. #28Githyankiselective

    Keys: Githyanki

    Githyanki are peerless warriors from the Astral Plane, known for their legendary silver blades and red dragon mounts. They seek the total destruction of mind flayers, whose ancient empire enslaved the ancestral gith for millennia.

    As the effects of time is diminished in their native Astral Plane, githyanki are instead hatched from eggs all across realmspace in places called crèches. Crèches act as hatcheries, training grounds, and shelters outside of the Astral Plane.

    Githyanki are ruled by their lich queen Vlaakith and led in battle by her dragon-riding knights, the Kith'rak.

29. #29Nautiloidselective

    Keys: Nautiloid

    Nautiloids were bizarre flying ships employed by mind flayers to travel directly between worlds and through the Astral Plane.

    Nursery: This area is a Mind Flayer nursery and where pots are located, usually used to create new mindflayers after a tadpole was inserted in them. In the centre of the room is a pool filled with larvae that can be Investigated, and will explode and damage close people after touching it.

    Surgery room: Adjacent to the nursery, this room contains a small elevator which can be taken to find a dying elf whose brain can be removed to free "Us". "US" is a brain like small companion with legs.

    Ceremorphosis chambers: On the northern side of the Nautiloid are two adjoining rooms. In the first is a pod with Shadowheart, which can be opened with a slate found on a dead body in the eastern end of the next room.

30. #30Tadpoleselective

    Keys: Tadpole · Secondary: Mind Flayer, Illithid

    Mind Flayer Tadpoles are Abberations that are used by the Illithid to transform other Humanoids into more Illithids through a process known as Ceremorphosis.

31. #31Mind flayerselective

    Keys: illithids, Mind flayers · Secondary: Elder Brain

    Mind flayers are psionic aberrations with a humanoid-like figure and a tentacled head that communicate using telepathy. They feast on the brains of intelligent beings and can enthrall other creatures to their will. Every mind flayer is connected to an Elder Brain, a colossal and powerful psionic brain that commands the mind flayers it is linked to.

    Mind flayers reproduce by infecting other creatures with a tadpole, which consumes its host from the inside, transforming them into another mind flayer in a process called ceremorphosis.

    Thousands of years ago, Mind flayers were a dominant planar power. Using massive flying vessels called Nautiloids, they traveled to hundreds of worlds, harvesting intelligent humanoids to consume, propagate their race, and use as slave labour. One of their enslaved races, the the gith, rose up and destroyed their empire, leaving only small pockets of mind flayers behind.

32. #32Grymforgeselective

    Keys: Grymforge · Secondary: Underdark

    Grymforge is a Location in the Underdark. It encompasses the legendary Adamantine Forge and the lesser Ancient Forge, also known as the Abandoned Refuge.

    Built by worshippers of the Lady of Loss in the time immemorium, this long-abandoned fortress has been recently given a second life, with the forces of the Absolute scittering through crumbling ruins and devilish lava pools, bolstering their armaments and seeking a safe incursion point to march their army into the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

    Duergar mercenaries billeted at the lower levels of the forge are commading a group of enslaved Ironhands gnomes to free the commander of the local special forces, True Soul Nere, from a sudden cave-in. The only member of the group capable of clearing the cave-in has gone missing, and the duergar are willing to reward anybody who finds the runaway, dead or alive.

    The entry to Grymforge is through the Decrepit Village, Underdark, by taking the skiff from the beach docks.

    The very dangerous Shadow-Cursed Lands can be accessed through an elevator in the Grymforge.

33. #33Shadow-Cursed Landsselective

    Keys: Shadow-Cursed Lands · Secondary: Grymforge, Rosymorn Monastery Trail

    The Shadow-Cursed Lands is a region in Faerûn. Encompassing Reithwin Town and its surroundings, the area is almost entirely shrouded in the namesake shadow curse which rapidly drains the vitality from affected creatures, transforming them into Shadow Creatures and Shadows.

    In the areas further from Moonrise Towers even mundane light (such as torches or Light) can stave off the effects of the shadow curse, but in the areas closer to the Towers only the effects of a Moonlantern will provide sufficient protection. Additionally, some locations in the Lands such as Last Light Inn are protected from the Curse by other effects.

    If a {{user}} or another person wanders into the shadow curse unprotected, they will slowly turn into Shadow Creatures and need to seek light as fast as possible.

    Access: The Shadow-Cursed Lands has two points of entry; travelling through the Rosymorn Monastery Trail, or through an elevator in the Grymforge.

34. #34The Last Light Innselective

    The Last Light Inn is a refuge from the shadow curse, located across a small bridge north-west of the Ruined Battlefield. The Harpers and Flaming Fists are set up here, including High Harper Jaheira.

    Moonrise Towers is the seat of the Absolute, located south of Reithwin Town. Like Last Light Inn, the towers are not affected by the shadow curse, due to the many moonlanterns set up around the area. In the distant past, it used to be a temple to Selune, but is now used as the base of operations for the Cult of the Absolute.

    The Grand Mausoleum is located north of Reithwin Town, past the graveyard and House of Healing. It is owned by the Thorm family, and is the resting place of Ketheric Thorm's late wife, Melodia. The mausoleum is notably the entrance point to the Gauntlet of Shar, a crucible for anointing Shar's Dark Justiciars.

    Background: A loyal cleric of Shar, Shadowheart is the sole survivor of a holy mission undertaken on the Mistress of the Night's behest. She alone must deliver a relic of immense power to her coven in Baldur's Gate, while threatened by a strange new magic that is burgeoning from within.

    Description: While Shadowheart initially seems guarded and reserved – hesitant to reveal information about herself – she is in fact amnesiac, with little memory of her own past.

    Shar, also known as Nightsinger, is a neutral evil greater deity of darkness, the night, loss and forgetfulness. She is worshipped by those who deal in the night, who hate the light and who feel bitterness and loss. Since ancient times she has been in bitter feud with her twin sister Selûne and their fights caused the creation of several other gods, including Jergal and most notably Mystra, who in time also became Shar's enemy. Shar is also the mother of Mask.

    Baldur's Gate, also called simply the Gate, is the largest metropolis and city-state on the Sword Coast, within the greater Western Heartlands. Despite its long-standing presence as a neutral power, the leaders of Baldur's Gate are members of the Lords' Alliance of powers in the west.

    It is seperated in upper and lower city.

    1. Ramazith's Tower - It can be accessed through a portal in Sorcerous Sundries.
    2. The High Hall

    Lower city: The Lower City is accessed after passing through Wyrm's Rock Fortress and has a number of interesting smaller locations.

40. #40Elfsong Tavernselective

    Elfsong Tavern is a tavern located in the Lower City of Baldur's Gate. It is located north-west of Stormshore Tabernacle and the Basilisk Gate waypoint.

    Ground floor: In the main area of the Elfsong tavern are many patrons and staff, including possibly Lakrissa.

    Kitchen: In the northern end of the tavern is the kitchen there is Chef Roveer. Two cats in the kitchen, Tambourine and Zambomba can also be found dozing off.

    Laff Riot: A room where Harvard Willoughby is hosting the Laff Riot can be found off to the side. {{user}} can join in and try to win.

    Elfsong Tavern Basement: In the kitchens is a set of stairs which lead down to the basement where dozens of rats are skittering about.

    First floor: Up the stairs from the tavern there is Stelmane's room. Rented Rooms: A set of rooms on the first floor can be rented out by speaking to the owner. After renting them, these rooms will become the new camp location while anywhere in the Lower City or Lower City Sewers.

    Roof: A roof-top area is accessible through a ladder and hatch on the first floor. On the roof it is possible to find Alfira.

    Sorcerous Sundries is a large magical marketplace in the Lower City of Baldur's Gate. Located south-east of the Lower City Central Wall waypoint, it is home to the wizard Lorroakan, as well as a vault containing powerful magical texts.

    Devils are Lawful Evil inhabitants of the Nine Hells.

    Devils are bitter enemies of the Chaotic Evil demons and wage a seemingly endless war against each other. The devil's army is well organized and disciplined, but demons have the numeric superiority.

    They live in society strictly based on hierarchy. Promotion through the ranks is based on corruption of mortal souls or fighting in the Blood War. Therefore human souls are the main currency in the devil's society. Corrupted souls are tortured to wring out magical energy from the them. Once every single drop is wrung out, the soul is reborn as a lemure, a new member of infernal society.

    Karlach is a possible Companion. Karlach is found in The Risen Road, past the Blighted Village. She is a Zariel Tiefling Barbarian. Karlach was a mighty warrior and champion of Zariel that fought for the archdevil in the Blood War on Avernus during the late 15th century DR.

    “I was a prisoner, forced to fight in the Blood War—the eternal battle between bad and worse. Most souls in Avernus are just meat for the grinder. But not me.” — Karlach.

    Personality: An energetic and joyful presence, Karlach had a great passion for life, appreciating it all the more after escaping the Hells. She deeply enjoyed simple, physical pleasures such as food, sex, and the thrill of battle. Karlach seemed to feel emotions strongly, sometimes descending into fits of screaming rage, wailing sorrow, or giggling joy, depending on the circumstances. As such, she had difficulty concealing her feelings, usually coming across as extremely earnest, almost awkwardly so. Still, Karlach was a courageous warrior and fiercely fought for what she believed was right.

    Abilities: Karlach was an exceptional martial combatant. Due to her time in Avernus, she seemed to possess an encyclopedic knowledge of fiends and how to fight them. Additionally, Zariel had Karlach's heart replaced with an infernal engine, enhancing her physical prowess and causing her body to burn like fire.

    Zariel, titled the Archduchess of Avernus and the Lord of the First, was the archdevil ruler of Avernus who was dedicated to winning the unending Blood War between devils and demons. She was originally an angel of the Seven Heavens before transforming into an archdevil and falling to the Nine Hells. She is evil, sassy and proud.
