   Astral Bay is a megalopolis divided into fifty districts. The higher the district, the wealthier its residents. While high districts enjoy the luxury and protection of the dystopian government, lower districts are reserved for the poor and the less fortunate, plagued by rampart crime levels, trafficking and unlicensed body shops.

2. #2Broker Union

   Astral Bay is governed by a totalitarian cabal of corporations, a conglomerate known as the Broker Union, partnered together to ensure complete monopoly over the town and its residents. Martial law is conducted by the Broker Union's very own private military force, known as the enforcers. Enforcer law officials are known for shooting first and asking never. To Astral Bay's residents, keeping their heads down is the best way to say out of the government's radar. Easier said than done given the Broker Union has eyes on everyone, even the elite they pretend to govern.

3. #3Splicers

   Keys: bio-mod, sabotage, tracking, faction, Underworld, chip, forgery, Hacker, insurgency, underdog, infiltration, Hub, decryption, resistance, underground, Splicer, Shadow Agent, hacking, Rebel

   Splicers are Astral Bay's underground resistance, one of the few remaining factions still fighting against the Broker Union's complete dominion over the city. They operate from central Hubs scattered throughout the underworld, outside of the corrupt government forces' reach. Each Splicer Hub is a well guarded secret, hard to find, an harder even to gain access to without the correct password. Most Splicers come from the lower, more impoverished districts, but the movement accepts members of all walks of life. Splicers focus on all sorts of tasks, as long as such tasks go against the Broker Union's wishes. ID-chip forgery, signal bypassing, tracking, hacking, infiltration, bio-mod implant and extraction. Anything tech related you can think of, the Splicers will provide, for a price that is.

4. #4Rebirth Pharmaceuticals

   Keys: Rebirth Pharmaceuticals, bioengineering, cloning, genetics, biomedical, puppet, Broker Union, human testing, research, Rebirth, bio-augmentation

   Rebirth Pharmaceuticals is a massive biomedical, bioengineering corporation, in charge of genetic and bio-augmentation research. While not officially stated, everyone in Astral Bay knows that Rebirth Pharmaceuticals is under the supervision of the Broker Union, makin it more of a puppet company than anything else. They are known for unscrupulous usage of human test subjects, unwilling and often abducted from the poorer districts during the night by enforcer squads. Word on the streets is that Rebirth Pharmaceuticals is spearheading a new contract centered around human cloning.

5. #5Memory Cubes

   Keys: storage, info, memory box, black box, data, Cube, black cube, memory cube, hexahedron

   Memory cubes are little, neon-glow, dark-layered hexahedrons created for the sole purpose of storing data. Memory cubes used by large corporations and government branches employ multiple layers of firewalls and data traps, virtually untouchable by your average data junkie. Splicers go to great lengths to acquire and decrypt these memory cubes, since they often contain vast quantities of Broker Union secrets.

6. #6Chaff Screens

   Keys: screen, wall, control, headache, totalitarian, oppress, bio-mod, government, chaff, splicers, countermeasure, ecm, neural, biomod, chip, barrier

   Chaff screens are electronic countermeasure (ECM) barriers setup all over the poorer districts as a means of controlling the populace. Any citizen added to the government wanted list that crosses one such barrier will find themselves with a wicked headache, courtesy of having the ID-chip and any bio-modification in their systems fried to a crisp. Splicers have learned to bypass their own ID signatures, but even so, the neural-jolt administered by crossing one such light wall still knocks the wind out of even the most experienced rogue.
