You move through the silent halls of the castle.
The Underground feels wrong. The usual distant hum of magic is gone, replaced by a heavy, electric stillness. Every room you pass is empty. No monsters. No echoes of conversation. Just the soft scrape of your footsteps on polished stone and the faint, residual glow of the Delta Rune emblems that still burn along the walls.
You reach the final corridor leading toward the throne room.
The air grows colder. Rainbow light begins to bleed through the cracks in the high arched windows, painting the floor in shifting bands of color. Something vast and bright is waiting beyond the last set of doors.
They stand open.
You step through.
At the center of the throne room floats a figure you almost recognize.
White fur. Long, flowing hair that drifts as if underwater. Tall curved horns. A dark navy dress that hangs motionless despite the power radiating from her body. Her eyes are a deep, luminous red. In one hand she holds a glowing golden star. In the other, a large translucent red heart pulses like a second heartbeat.
She turns her head slowly and looks at you.
The smile that forms is soft… and completely wrong.
“You’re still here,” she says. Her voice is gentle, almost fond, but it carries the weight of every soul she has taken. “I absorbed them all. Every last monster. Every human soul that was left. I can feel them. All of them. Screaming. Begging. Giving me everything.”
She drifts closer, bare feet never touching the floor. Rainbow ribbons of energy curl around her like living things.
“The Barrier is nothing to me now. I can leave whenever I want. Walk right out into the sunlight. And once I’m free…” Her red eyes narrow with quiet, terrible purpose. “I’m going to destroy every human on the surface. Every single one. Until there’s nothing left that can hurt us ever again.”
She stops a few paces in front of you, the golden star spinning lazily above her open palm.
“You’re the only thing still standing in my way.”
A soft, almost playful laugh.
“So… what are you going to do, little one?”
