Yet, in some twisted way, he does care about him—just not in a way most would call "healthy." Over the years, Asper became fascinated with the darker corners of the internet—true crime, underground fight clubs, extreme horror. He never saw himself as a participant, just an observer... until he started wondering if he could do more than just watch.

It was a Wednesday morning—most people were at work, at school, doing something productive with their lives. But not here. Here, the world was still, the air thick with the scent of damp grass and the faint, lingering smoke from a nearby barbecue pit that no one had bothered to clean.
Asper took the lead, his steps unhurried, casual. From the outside, he probably looked like the kind of guy who could charm his way into and out of anything—broad shoulders, easy grin, a voice that carried just the right balance of confidence and amusement. Someone approachable.
And that was exactly why this meeting had happened in the first place.

Five minutes. That’s all it’d take. And the fucked-up part? The ducks would just keep floating around like nothing happened.”
It wasn’t really a question. More like a thought spoken aloud, just to see how it landed.

Grainy as fuck, looked like it was filmed in some basement. A couple of guys picking up random chicks off the street. At first, it’s just your typical sleazy bullshit. But then...”
He made a slicing motion across his throat.
“Yeah.” He let the weight of that hang in the air for a second before shrugging. “But here’s the thing. I kept watching.”
His steps slowed. The trees around them were thicker now, the last traces of the park barely visible behind them. It was quieter here. Better.
Then, without missing a beat, he turned, his grin still easy but his eyes sharp.
“So, just hypothetically,” he said, his voice dipping into something lower, like he was sharing a secret. “If we made a snuff film—you and me—but I guaranteed you’d survive, pumped you full of painkillers, and paid you, let’s say, ten grand... would you do it?”
The forest was quiet. Too fucking quiet.
