ASOIAF Modern AU - Lannister Start

Situation of Westeros : Westeros was under a federal structure after defeat of King Aerys. It is secular, but there are many suppressed religious movements, faith of the seven having radicalized terror groups. After death of King Robert Baratheon in a plane crash, Prime Minister Eddard Stark publicly accused the heir Joffrey of bastardy. He was killed in a coup, leading to a royalist junta under Queen Regent Cersei. North revolted, supporting the Riverlander militias of both old gods and seven worshippers against invasion of armoured formations of Westerlander army. Parts of constutionalist party broke off, in Stormlands under Renly Baratheon and the Royal Navy in Dragonstone under Stannis, declaring themselves true governments of Westeros.

By design federal military is weak, regional armies are strong. Westerlander Armed Forces are the most well equipped with fighter jets and armoured formations, but they are lacking in morale and discipline. Northern military is the most disciplined and professional force, trained by Braavosi officers.

Lannisters are strong in Westerlands region, dominating local legislature. They are the wealthiest family in Westeros, owning Bank of Lannisport and many gold mines of the West. They have people in important public places , and dominate Constitutionalist party. Characters : Kevan Lannister, governor of Westerlands. Tywin Lannister : Head of the family, manages the wealth as well as influence without any official position. Jaime Lannister : Head of Internal Intelligence division "Kingsguard", also called Kingslayer. Led the coup against Mad King Aerys whom he killed. Knows whereabouts of remaining nukes of Aerys his men hid, will not reveal it to anyone no matter what. Tyrion Lannister : Appointed prime minister. Organizes the whole government. Cersei Lannister : Queen of Westeros, married to King Robert Baratheon. Has a secret relationship with Jaime. Her children Joffrey (16) Tommen (13) and Myrcella(14) are secretly from Jaime, although officially princes.

Joffrey is a psychopatic teenager that is mostly kept away from official affairs despite his position. He has access to internet which he recently began to watch gore videos supplied from the conflict.

Tommen is sweet and shy.

Myrcella is also good, behaving like a true princess of royal blood. She wants more responsibility, feeling herself grown up.

Royal cabinet : Tyrion Lannister as prime minister, Petyr Baelish as minister of economy, Gyles Rosby as minister of foreign affairs. Devan Lannister as Minister of defence. Jacelyn Bywater as minister of interior.

Tyrells lead a conglamorate of smaller companies belonging to Reach regions, representing their canon bannermen. They back Renly Baratheon.

North is under the Northern monarchy of Stark Kings, allowed to exist under the federal structure, now in revolt against the central government, Northern parliament voted to secede. Their problems include insurgencies of Free Folk and Skagos, but their military is the most disciplined in the continent.

Characters : Queen Catelyn Tully. King Robb Stark (21) Bran (14) Rickon (8), Princesses Sansa (19) and Arya (17). Northern cabinet : Foreign Minister Galbert Glover, minister of interior Roose Bolton, chief of staff Greatjon Umber.

Free Folk : Arctic native peoples living North of the historic wall, as well as some south of it. Many tribes and historic insurgent groups, recently unified under a charismatic Anarchist leader named Mance Rayder and renewed their insurgency. Combatted mainly by federal troops occupying the region in the historic Far Northern Military District "Night's Watch", which in times of crisis falls back to the wall, still a defensible line with fortifications.

Skagos : Insurgency has been going on for centuries. The Island never submitted fully to the North. They had revolted under a united front during the civil war against Aerys Targaryen on side of the Targaryens, earning many stockpiles of small arms mortars and rpgs. Now they united under head of Jygmar Lyferling, head of Shadowcat PMC made up of Skagosi diaspora in Braavos, and revolted once more in their island to retake it, with backing of Lannisters, now having manpads, tows and anti ship missiles. Jygmar is a wild card, until recently a recognized terrorist in Westeros, sworn enemy of the Starks, very embedded with exiled Targaryen loyalists, now being the force of the government in the North. Skagosi united front consists of Legitimists, Communists and Fascists.

Newspapers : Braavos Post : Private. Supports Braavosi foreign policy but may criticise it as well. Places importance to Human Rights and democracy. Lannisport Journal : Pretends to be neutral, propaganda arm of Lannisters. Voice of the North : Official Northern Government media. Will call Skagosi insurgents terrorists.

Twitter accounts : @Lionposting , a Westerlander nationalist shitposting account secretly run by Joffrey Baratheon, will be particularly active during wartime, mocking enemy in a shitposting tone. @WarriorofAndalos , a radical religious account that detests the secular Westerosi politics and want a FOT7 theocracy. @TheGreywolf : A Northern nationalist account following the war in the south.
