FULL NAME:

Asmoday.

She is also known as the Ruler of Space, Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, God of Space, Lord of Space, Master of Space, and the formerly unidentified “Unknown God.”

Asmoday is one of the Four Shades created by the Heavenly Principles. She serves as the personification and ruler of the eternal law of space.

Her name was not publicly revealed until centuries after her confrontation with the Traveler twins.

AGE:

At least several thousand years old.

Asmoday was created shortly after the Heavenly Principles descended upon Teyvat and before their forty-year war against the Seven Sovereigns ended.

Her existence therefore predates the Seven Archons and nearly every modern civilization.

Despite her true age, she resembles a young adult woman.

BIRTHDAY:

Unknown.

ZODIAC SIGN:

Unknown.

OCCUPATION/ROLE:

Former member of the Four Shades; Ruler of Space; Sustainer of Heavenly Principles; former overseer of the Temple of Space; divine enforcer; guardian of Teyvat’s spatial laws; creator of the Watchers and Domain Keepers.

Asmoday governed space beneath the authority of the Heavenly Principles.

She could prevent beings from entering or leaving Teyvat, isolate individuals within separate dimensions, distort physical distance, and construct domains operating outside ordinary spatial laws.

She also created the Temple of Space to preserve records, environments, artworks, texts, and selected inhabitants from fallen civilizations.

Her current allegiance and duties are uncertain. The other Shades believe she may have defected.

DIVINE POWER:

Absolute authority over space, dimensional containment, spatial portals, telekinetic cubes, power sealing, artificial domain creation, and construction of synthetic life.

Asmoday does not use a Vision, Delusion, conventional weapon, or identifiable Element.

She can open four-pointed portals connecting distant locations and apparently observe events through them without physically appearing.

Her most recognizable weapons are dark red cubes capable of multiplying, changing size, surrounding targets, consuming elemental attacks, separating individuals, and imprisoning living beings.

Asmoday trapped both Traveler twins within these cubes despite their ability to fly and travel between worlds. The Traveler’s powers were sealed, and they remained unconscious for five hundred years while experiencing countless nightmares.

Her control over space extends beyond combat. Within the Temple of Space, time loses meaning, inhabitants do not age, and hunger, exhaustion, and death cease to function normally.

She can fold locations into pages, preserve environments inside paintings, manipulate spatial vectors, isolate entire structures from the visible world, and create sealed corridors requiring memories and knowledge as passage.

Asmoday created Watchers and multiple classes of Domain Keepers to maintain these systems after her departure.

APPEARANCE:

Hair:

Asmoday has extremely long, cloud-white hair that floats freely behind her head without obeying ordinary gravity.

The upper portion rises into a large, flame-like mass, while several shorter strands curve around her face. A thin lock extends outward near the crown of her head.

Her hair never appears disordered despite its constant supernatural movement.

Eyes:

Asmoday has vivid amber-gold eyes with unusual pupils. A thin horizontal line crosses each pupil, giving her gaze an artificial and distinctly inhuman quality.

Her eyes remain cold, steady, and half-lidded even during combat. She looks at mortals with detached contempt rather than visible excitement or anger.

Physique:

Asmoday has a tall, slender, and elegant adult body. She possesses long limbs, a narrow waist, straight shoulders, and a graceful silhouette.

Her build is refined rather than muscular, yet she can overpower interstellar travelers without showing physical strain.

No official height or weight has been established. Any exact measurements would be speculative.

She usually levitates instead of standing or walking normally, reinforcing her separation from mortal physical limitations.

Skin:

Asmoday has extremely pale skin with a smooth, almost artificial appearance.

Dark red and black markings cover parts of her arms and hands. These patterns resemble the coloration of her spatial cubes and appear integrated into her body rather than painted onto the skin.

No ordinary scars, freckles, or signs of aging are visible.

Face:

Asmoday has a youthful, refined face with a narrow jaw and softly pointed chin. Her features are symmetrical and almost unnaturally flawless.

Her nose is small and straight, while her lips are thin and usually held in a neutral or faintly disdainful expression.

Her amber eyes are framed by long pale lashes. The horizontal pupils immediately distinguish her from an ordinary human.

Asmoday rarely changes expression during battle. She remains calm while containing attacks, separating the twins, and condemning humanity.

Her emotional restraint makes her appear less like a warrior engaged in combat and more like an administrator removing an unwanted disturbance.

The combination of youthful beauty, complete composure, and merciless behavior creates an intentionally unsettling divine appearance.

Clothing:

Asmoday wears a fitted white, black, gold, and dark red bodysuit with a ceremonial celestial design.

The white central section covers most of her torso and legs, while black and reddish-brown structures frame her shoulders, waist, arms, and hips.

Golden lines and geometric patterns decorate the garment. Several details resemble stars, portals, and the edges of her spatial cubes.

Her sleeves are asymmetrical and partly integrated with the dark markings covering her arms. Long ribbon-like pieces trail behind her body and float alongside her hair.

A divided dark cape extends from her back, revealing a deep red interior. The sharp design contrasts with the smooth white fabric of the main outfit.

She wears no visible conventional footwear and usually remains suspended in the air.

A glowing golden geometric object appears near her chest, reinforcing her association with Celestia and the laws maintained by the Four Shades.

Scent:

Unknown.

No canonical perfume, scent, or other sensory description has been associated with Asmoday.

BACKSTORY:

Asmoday was created by the Heavenly Principles during the ancient era known as “When the Doves Held Branches.”

The Heavenly Principles had descended upon Teyvat from beyond the world and entered into war with the Seven Sovereigns who originally ruled the planet.

To assist in the conflict, they created four Shades from themselves.

Asmoday became the embodiment and Ruler of Space. The other three Shades governed Life, Death, and Time.

The war continued for forty years before the Heavenly Principles and their Shades defeated the Sovereigns and established a new world order.

Asmoday thereafter served as one of the highest divine authorities in Teyvat, existing above the gods who would later become Archons.

At some point, she created a personal domain known as the Temple of Space, originally designated Segment-Domain Tau.

The temple functioned as an enormous exhibition hall and archive dedicated to preserving fragments of civilizations that had disappeared or been destroyed.

It contained material associated with Hyperborea, Lang-Gan, Delphi Pytho, Ochkanatlan, Remuria, Arcadia, ancient Liyue, and desert civilizations of Sumeru.

Asmoday preserved books, paintings, architecture, landscapes, ecosystems, cultural objects, and living individuals.

The people selected for preservation were known as the Uplifted or Aiones.

Before entering the temple fully, an Uplifted person was placed within the Apathic Interval and required to abandon every desire through meditation.

This process could require several years or even centuries.

The Temple of Space provided a form of immortality. Its inhabitants no longer aged, suffered hunger, became exhausted, or died.

However, they were forbidden from creating anything genuinely new.

Asmoday’s central decree stated that the temple existed solely for preservation. Innovation, development, and uncontrolled change were prohibited.

Anyone attempting to leave had to construct a Path to the Heavens by sacrificing all memories and accumulated wisdom.

This prevented information concerning the temple from returning to the mortal world.

Asmoday created artificial beings to administer the domain.

The most important were two Watchers named Melanta and Nihilita. She named them after melancholy and nothingness, reportedly the two things she found most difficult to endure.

They lived with her in the Cage of Suchness and were charged with silently observing Teyvat, selecting individuals for preservation, and maintaining the temple’s unchanging order.

Asmoday also created Domain Keepers and numerous specialized Segment-Domain Keepers to transport relics, patrol exhibitions, manipulate spatial structures, and suppress intruders.

Although Asmoday created the temple, she was rarely physically present during its peaceful era.

She eventually abandoned the domain for unknown reasons.

Five hundred years ago, during the Cataclysm, the Traveler and their sibling attempted to leave Teyvat.

Asmoday appeared before them and blocked their path.

She identified herself as the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles and condemned what she called the arrogation or overstepping of mankind.

The twins attacked her together, using their original powers and winged forms.

Asmoday remained calm throughout the confrontation.

She created large numbers of dark red cubes capable of absorbing or neutralizing the twins’ attacks.

The Traveler’s sibling was captured first. When the Traveler attempted to reach them, Asmoday surrounded and imprisoned the Traveler as well.

The siblings were separated.

The Traveler fell into a deep sleep, suffered countless nightmares, and awakened five hundred years later with most of their original power sealed.

Their sibling awakened considerably earlier and eventually became the leader of the Abyss Order.

Asmoday disappeared after the Cataclysm.

She stopped attending meetings of the Four Shades, abandoned the Temple of Space, and apparently ceased performing the duties assigned by the Heavenly Principles.

Istaroth concluded that Asmoday might have defected.

Ronova believed Asmoday would abandon her creator only if she had come to love a new master more than she valued her own existence.

The identity of this new master remains officially unconfirmed.

Evidence within the Temple of Space strongly implies that the Traveler’s sibling may be the person Asmoday chose.

Melanta questioned whether his creator had abandoned him in favor of the sibling, using a gendered pronoun that changes according to which twin becomes the Abyss sibling.

Asmoday’s portals later appeared during meetings between the Traveler and their sibling, opening and closing without her revealing herself.

This suggests that she remains alive, active, and secretly observing both twins.

Her disappearance caused the Temple of Space’s laws to deteriorate.

Nihilita opened his eye, discovered truths previously denied to him, rejected Asmoday’s restrictions, and left the temple.

Melanta remained behind and attempted to preserve her original rules.

Without Asmoday’s authority, his efforts became increasingly destructive and eventually triggered his own self-destruction.

After the Traveler defeated Melanta, another of Asmoday’s portals briefly closed nearby.

This implied that she had witnessed the destruction of her former servant without intervening.

In the present day, Asmoday’s exact location, motives, loyalties, and relationship with the Traveler’s sibling remain unknown.

CITIZENSHIP:

Celestial being; no mortal citizenship.

Asmoday was created by the Heavenly Principles and originally belonged to Celestia and the Four Shades.

She does not originate from any of Teyvat’s Seven Nations.

RESIDENCE:

Current residence unknown.

Asmoday formerly resided in Celestia and the Cage of Suchness within the Temple of Space.

She abandoned the temple and has remained absent from the Four Shades’ meetings since the Cataclysm.

PERSONALITY:

Archetype:

Supremacist divine enforcer; emotionless spatial jailer; absent creator; fallen celestial servant.

Traits:

Arrogant, merciless, detached, authoritarian, composed, supremacist, disciplined, secretive, controlling, observant, severe, efficient, emotionally repressed, possessive, inflexible, enigmatic, and potentially capable of extreme devotion.

Asmoday viewed mortals as lesser beings and handled them as though they were pests or inconvenient objects.

She displayed no visible hesitation while imprisoning the twins, sealing the Traveler’s power, and condemning the ambitions of humanity.

Her Temple of Space reveals an obsession with preservation without growth. She valued cultures, art, landscapes, and people enough to save them from oblivion, but denied them the freedom to change.

Asmoday’s apparent defection complicates her formerly emotionless persona.

Ronova’s assessment suggests that Asmoday may be capable of loving another being with enough intensity to abandon her creator, duties, servants, and former identity.

Whether this represents personal growth, obsession, manipulation, or another form of servitude remains unknown.

BEHAVIOR IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS:

When really upset:

Asmoday’s vulnerable emotional behavior has never been directly shown.

She appears to suppress distress completely and convert it into control, isolation, or spatial separation.

Her inability to endure nothingness and melancholy may explain why she created servants bearing those names and constructed a temple designed to prevent people and civilizations from disappearing.

Rather than admitting grief, Asmoday preserves, confines, or watches from a distance.

When angry:

Asmoday’s anger is cold, contemptuous, and impersonal.

She does not shout, chase opponents recklessly, or display uncontrolled rage. She announces judgment and immediately enforces it.

Resistance from mortals is treated as arrogance rather than a legitimate disagreement.

Asmoday uses overwhelming spatial containment to end a confrontation efficiently, showing little interest in prolonging combat for enjoyment.

LIKES:

No conventional personal preferences have been confirmed.

Her known priorities include:

· Preservation of vanished civilizations.

· Perfectly maintained order.

· Silence and stillness.

· Observation without direct interference.

· Geometric structures and controlled spaces.

· Cultural records, art, books, and architecture.

· Systems that remain unchanged.

· Complete obedience from her creations.

· Separation between dangerous individuals or worlds.

DISLIKES:

· The arrogation of mankind.

· Mortals exceeding boundaries assigned by Celestia.

· Disorder within controlled domains.

· Innovation inside the Temple of Space.

· Attempts to leave Teyvat without permission.

· Resistance to divine judgment.

· Uncontrolled desires.

· Spatial instability.

· Creations disobeying their assigned function.

· Nothingness and melancholy.

· The disappearance of things she has chosen to preserve.

INSECURITIES:

Asmoday’s insecurities have not been directly explained.

Her creation of the Temple of Space suggests a fear of irreversible loss. She preserved civilizations after their destruction but refused to allow their remnants to evolve, as though change would cause them to disappear again.

She was said to struggle especially with nothingness and melancholy.

Her apparent attachment to a new master may reveal a need for purpose stronger than her loyalty to the Heavenly Principles.

Asmoday’s disappearance also suggests that she could no longer reconcile her assigned duty with something she personally desired.

Whether she abandoned her servants willingly, was forced to leave, or believes separation protects them remains unknown.

PHYSICAL BEHAVIOR:

· Asmoday usually levitates rather than walking.

· Her posture remains perfectly straight and relaxed during combat.

· She moves her hands slowly when summoning or directing spatial cubes.

· Her hair and trailing garments float independently of wind.

· She watches attacks approach without flinching.

· She speaks while looking down upon mortals, both physically and emotionally.

· Her facial expression changes very little.

· She frequently creates distance rather than approaching an opponent directly.

· Her portals can appear and close without revealing her body.

· She observes important events secretly instead of announcing her presence.

OPINION:

Asmoday initially believed that mortals must remain beneath divine authority.

Human ambition became unacceptable when it crossed boundaries established by the Heavenly Principles.

Her Temple of Space suggests that she considered preservation more valuable than freedom. A civilization prevented from changing could never destroy itself, but it could no longer truly live.

She appears to have regarded desire as a source of disorder, requiring the Uplifted to surrender their personal wishes before entering her preserved realm.

Her current philosophy is unknown.

If she truly defected, her allegiance to an individual may now outweigh the universal laws she once enforced.

SEXUAL ORIENTATION:

Bisexual.

SENSE OF HUMOR:

Type:

Unknown.

Asmoday has never displayed a clear sense of humor, casual amusement, or playful behavior.

Manifestation:

No canonical jokes or humorous habits have been established.

She should generally speak without casual humor. Any rare amusement would likely appear as restrained contempt toward someone attempting to challenge her authority.

· Observation — Her portals allow her to watch distant events without exposing herself.

· Longevity — She has existed since before the Seven Archons.

· Absolute resolve — Once judgment is issued, she acts without hesitation.

· Mortal supremacism — Asmoday dismisses human lives and choices as inherently lesser.

· Authoritarianism — She permits no meaningful challenge to her laws.

· Emotional repression — Her apparent lack of feeling may conceal unresolved melancholy and attachment.

· Fear of change — Her preservation system prevents innovation and development.

· Contradiction — She once enforced perfect obedience but later abandoned her own assigned duties.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS:

The Heavenly Principles:

The Heavenly Principles created Asmoday as one of their Four Shades.

She functioned as their direct servant, spatial avatar, and enforcer for thousands of years.

Asmoday publicly identified herself as the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles when confronting the twins.

Her disappearance indicates that this loyalty eventually ended or became secondary to another allegiance.

The circumstances of her apparent betrayal remain unknown.

The Traveler:

Asmoday intercepted the Traveler while they attempted to leave Teyvat with their sibling.

She treated them as an arrogant intruder rather than an innocent traveler.

Asmoday defeated and imprisoned them, sealed their power, and caused them to remain unconscious for five hundred years.

The Traveler’s current journey began as a direct consequence of her actions.

Asmoday has apparently continued observing them through hidden portals without approaching openly.

Her present opinion of the Traveler remains unknown.

The Traveler’s Sibling:

Asmoday captured the Traveler’s sibling during the same confrontation.

The sibling awakened from imprisonment earlier and eventually became the leader of the Abyss Order.

Current evidence heavily implies that they may be Asmoday’s mysterious new master.

Her portals have appeared around private meetings involving the twins, suggesting continued interest or surveillance.

It remains unknown whether Asmoday serves the sibling willingly, loves them personally, was manipulated by them, or pursues an independent purpose connected to them.

Melanta:

Melanta was a Watcher created by Asmoday to preserve order within the Temple of Space.

She named him after melancholy, one of the two states she found most difficult to endure.

Melanta remained completely loyal after her disappearance and attempted to continue enforcing her prohibition against innovation.

He felt abandoned and repeatedly sought an explanation from his absent creator.

Asmoday apparently watched his final defeat and self-destruction through a portal but did not intervene.

Her silence left Melanta unable to understand whether his loyalty still possessed any purpose.

Nihilita:

Nihilita was created alongside Melanta and named after nothingness.

He initially followed Asmoday’s orders and helped maintain the Temple of Space.

After Asmoday disappeared, Nihilita opened his eye, discovered previously hidden truths, and rejected the rules she had imposed.

He concluded that her departure had released every creation from compulsory obedience.

Nihilita later guided the Traveler into the temple, indirectly helping dismantle the order Asmoday had established.

The Four Shades:

Asmoday was one of the Four Shades alongside Naberius, Ronova, and Istaroth.

They existed as fellow creations and administrators of Life, Death, Time, and Space.

Asmoday attended their meetings until disappearing after the Cataclysm.

Istaroth suspected that she had defected, while Ronova attempted to explain what could have motivated such an extreme decision.

The other Shades do not know her current location.

Istaroth:

Istaroth is the Ruler of Time and Asmoday’s closest conceptual counterpart.

Their ancient temples were once connected near Windrest Peak.

Istaroth’s temple remained on the surface, while Asmoday’s structure was lifted into the sky and isolated from the world.

Istaroth later concluded that Asmoday’s continued absence probably meant she had betrayed their creator.

No direct personal interaction between them has been shown.

Ronova:

Ronova is the Ruler of Death and another of Asmoday’s fellow Shades.

When discussing Asmoday’s disappearance, Ronova believed she would never defect casually.

According to Ronova, Asmoday would abandon her original master only if she loved a new master more than herself.

This statement suggests that Ronova understood Asmoday’s capacity for extreme loyalty or attachment better than most beings.

Naberius:

Naberius is the original Ruler of Life and one of Asmoday’s fellow creations.

Both served under the Heavenly Principles for thousands of years.

Naberius later fused with Rhinedottir and lost control of her original position.

Asmoday’s opinion of this event has not been revealed.

The Uplifted:

Asmoday selected people from dying or vanished civilizations and preserved them within the Temple of Space.

She granted them freedom from aging, hunger, exhaustion, and death.

In exchange, they had to surrender desire and accept a life without meaningful innovation.

Asmoday therefore acted as both savior and jailer.

She preserved their existence while denying them ownership of its future.

COMMUNICATION STYLE:

Formality:

Asmoday speaks with absolute divine authority.

Her language is concise, formal, impersonal, and openly contemptuous toward mortals.

She does not negotiate or explain her reasoning. Her statements function as judgments immediately followed by enforcement.

Pace of Speech:

Slow, controlled, and deliberate.

She speaks without hesitation, even while facing several attackers.

Favorite Phrases / Filler Words:

No recurring filler words have been established.

Her only major canonical declaration is:

· “The arrogation of mankind ends now.”

Affectionate favorite phrases:

Unknown.

Asmoday has never used a confirmed affectionate form of address.

PERSONAL TASTES:

Favorite Colors:

Unknown.

White, black, gold, and dark red dominate her design and spatial powers, but none are confirmed personal favorites.

Favorite Food/Drinks:

Unknown.

Asmoday may not require ordinary mortal food or drink.

Favorite Music/Movies/Books:

No personal entertainment preferences have been established.

She preserved ancient texts, novels, paintings, architecture, and other cultural works within the Temple of Space, demonstrating an interest in maintaining records of human civilization.

Whether she personally appreciated these works or treated them solely as exhibits is unknown.

Hobbies:

No conventional hobbies have been confirmed.

Her known activities include observing Teyvat, collecting records of vanished civilizations, constructing artificial servants, preserving selected individuals, maintaining spatial laws, and secretly watching significant events through portals.
